I need to lose 3.5 stone - feel so fed up about it I am ignoring the mince pies and Thornton's chocolates! I have lost weight before with a great bunch of ladies on mn. I feel motivated to do the same again and this time keep it off, I went through my wardrobe and found a very stylish tunic I bought in the South of France that I wore once before gaining weight.

Whatever your approach - low carb, Weight Watchers, Slimmers World or healthy eating, all welcome to join me with motivational tips/chat to keep each other going. I find that I don't stick to any plan and eating at meals times/snack on veg and fruit/exercise works for me.

Look forward to chatting with whoever wants to join Smile

...aaand she's gone back to sleep again. Hopefully for the rest of the night Grin

Uni has started again properly this week, so I have readings and assignments coming out of my ears. Hopefully this will distract me from the vending machines it hasn't yet

MABS · 02/02/2016 07:40

Thanks all :) we are very proud. Congrats on all your wonderful losses!!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 02/02/2016 08:03

Well done Kim

Hopefully she has turned the corner Error

Heading for another friffin STS here! Although did have DD over the weekend and did eat more than should have done, so I suppose that is only fair.

Still exhausted after the lurgies, still trying to find my oomph, but at least yesterday I found my ski jacket and it fits so happy days!

My lurgy is going, but feel knackered, dd still feeling sick Sad I am beyond fed up for her, rotten bad luck, she felt sick over Christmas, and now her Birthday.

Don't know if it's my imagination, but I feel lighter Smile underwear is also fitting better.

Downstairs Ooooh...nuts and crisps are my downfall, there is a very big bag of dry roasted peanuts in the cupboard, left over from Christmas. Rather moreish, if I get a bad attack of the munchies will have to ask dh to hide them.

Piste Great news about the ski jacket!

Downstairs, weight loss due to bf is not a given; I bf for 9 months and only lost a few lb. I'm also finding it harder to lose weight since DD was born, but I think it's not so much down to any physical change, more the stress of parenthood and other stuff which seems more acute than before which makes me comfort eat (and drink). Sugar has got me through pregnancy, early motherhood, and uni, which i'm now paying for in weight gain (and tooth loss if I'm not more careful; I've just been told I need another filling Shock).

I woke up this morning with a stinking cold, which has been brewing for a few days, and the only thing that makes me feel better is eating. I've resisted the sugar so far, but need to get energy from somewhere. I have a project meeting this afternoon at which I need to be an effective, functioning human being, which might be a bit beyond me today.

GBBO15 · 03/02/2016 03:00

Yes Downstairs and Error, I really think breastfeeding is making it harder for me to lose weight, it's definitely not helping.

This week's been ok, but not been logging my ww points, In fact, considering stopping logging points altogether and just sticking with healthy eating... But I'm not sure if I can be trusted, will see how this week goes and think about it.

Hope all with/recovering from lurgy get well soon! I always find those Redoxin Immune Defence vitamins really help, although it may be psychological!

RatherBeOnThePiste · 03/02/2016 06:59

Morning Brew

Bastard lurgies, enough now, hope all are soon on the mend xxx

I agree with weight loss and breastfeeding, didn't go together certainly in my case, although for a good friend the weight dropped off, it just made me so bloomin hungry.

Wednesday weigher here

and its a one pound loss for me, huzzah, was nearly two but I only record whole measurements.

So nearly two though! I leaned on the scales...

this wayyyyyyyyy ----->

sorry gals, letting the thread down :( no loss at all, but no gain either

RatherBeOnThePiste · 03/02/2016 08:17

MABS Shurrrrruppppppppppppp!

Tis called STS and it is a good thing :) Wine Wine clinks glass

Obviously doesn't because it is only 8.15 am

Maybe Grin

Bringonsummer · 03/02/2016 08:52

The week i am having, glass clinking at 8.15 sounds great!

Have aborted 2 fast days so far this week, am so stressed at work i cant think properly and starvation only adds to my confusion. Aborting then leads to extreme binge to fill the gaping hole in my stomach = very bad outcome and extreme scales avoidance. Also it is cold so that never helps.

Was going to try again today but as i have been awake since 2.36 figure it would be madness. Instead i am temporarily changing the regime to no s diet (no snackz, sweets or seconds except on s days). I am a big snacker so this may help. God i am a girl for a Fad!

Well done on sts and losses. And hope lurgies go soon

GBBO15 · 03/02/2016 09:07

Well done Piste on the loss and MABS for the STS! I agree STS is a good thing- no one can lose every single week but as long as no gain all is good Smile

Summer so sorry to hear your work is stressful at the minute, I hope it gets better soon.

MABS · 03/02/2016 09:15

thanks GBB but i do need to focus more!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 03/02/2016 12:11

Lurgies all gone now Smile we are taking it easy as feeling tired, soddin lurgy has ruined my exercise routine this week, which I am convinced contributes greatly to weight loss. Day of lost PE kits and online safety issue with dd just the sort of day to hit the dry roasted peanuts and crisps, but instead I am going to hide in my bedroom for half an hour with a cuppa and kindle Smile

I'm rubbish at diets too Downstairs healthy eating and exercise best way for me.

Bringon hope work stress passes, not helped at my place by having vending machine full of chocolate, and they have cake for every occasion.

Helena when you're on next, was it you who mentioned the Lean in 15 cook book? In a magazine I picked up few of the recipes in it, such as tuna steak with salsa and piri piri rice with peas and garlic prawns, looks very tasty. How are you finding it?

Piste Fab! Well done on loss.

Blondes I think 4lb is getting there, going in right direction. When I next weigh in I would be happy with 4lb over 4 weeks.

GBB I'm remembering when I breast fed, I used to keep an emergency banana for the middle of the night! Felt very hungry.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 03/02/2016 17:02

Have been to the gym, burnt nearly 400 cals, and trim you will be proud, have signed up to a spinning class on Saturday morn with a friend. A class for a compete beginner. She and I are going to get there early and loiter at the back Grin

Then I'm going to get DH to come and wheel me home in a Tesco trolley.

Fairenuff · 03/02/2016 20:42

Hi all. I have finally lost that pesky pound, so that's 14lb lost so far this year.

Well done to anyone else losing or sts Smile

Downstairs I'm rubbish at diets too and always seem to end up gaining when I inevitably fail, so I'm doing healthy eating too.

Good luck with the spin class piste. I hear it's the next day that's the killer.

GettinTrimmer · 03/02/2016 21:19

Piste Grin Tesco trolley?! You are never one to shy away from a challenge I'm impressed! Does your gym have an Insanity class? I am leaving it a couple of weeks to get fitter and will join one every Tuesday morning, I've heard it's well scary.

Will you eat 400 calories more food?

faire well done on your pound, add yourself to list if you want.

downstairs I don't eat meat, but not given up fish, I think there's veggie stuff in the book too. The tuna one I'm looking at has a whole avocado with the salsa, incredibly healthy, very filling. Joe Wicks looks incredibly healthy, reminds me in his manner of Jamie Oliver or is that my imagination.

Fairenuff · 03/02/2016 21:38

I'm not sure how much I want to lose. I've set myself a new goal of 7lbs, is it okay to put that on the list and set a new goal if/when I meet that one?

MABS · 04/02/2016 09:26

Well done on all the losses, and Pistey I like spin classes. Am going in gym later on.

BUT would it be wrong have some fizz later to celebrate dd being 21 today? She is at uni in Newcastle and I am in Sussex so wont even be with her!!

LittleWoofDoesntDog · 04/02/2016 09:36

Can I join as well please? Have been reading and lurking for a while now, and really enjoying the way the thread flows.
I have been trying to lose some weight since the beginning of January after losing a fair amount then gaining it all back on over Christmas!

Current weight: 149lb. Weight lost since Jan 1st: 7lb. Ideal total to lose: 23lb.

I have been trying to eat carefully and consciously, attempting to forgo carbs but really - carbs are my biggest weakness. I find it so hard to not have the pasta or the mashed potato! I can ignore chocolate for months on end, but I can't have crisps or nuts in the house because they will be demolished in seconds. Am going to restart Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred from Monday, then start Ripped in 30 afterwards.

RatherBeOnThePiste · 04/02/2016 10:36

Only right and proper you have the fizz later MABS Happy birthday to her!

fairenuff I will review my goal when I get there, think it is a good idea

Re the Spinning (DH though I meant wool initially and was all Hmm Grin ) you must all be kind then when I am sobbing on Sunday morn then, as I have to roll down the stairs.

Just been to the gym, always a bit close this one, as have to go late on a Wed followed by early on a Thurs. Trim I usually eat some of the cals I 'earn' but not always. Without I only get 1200 which really doesn't go very far. Am still religiously using MFP to record. The gym isn't going to help me lose weight though, just boots my arse to being a bit fitter.

Welcome LittleWoof Glad to have you on board, C&P the list and bung yourself on it.
