Sorry if stepping on toes. But couldn't see another thread. Anybody want to join me? I guess the idea is that some weeks you loose a bit more and some weeks you gain but aiming for 1lb a week sounds good to me.

D27 well done! 8lbs is great. Your Indian meal sounds nice too, that's a good idea as we're meant to be eating out on Saturday.

Nantucket, it's all about having your head in the right space isn't it?

I'm due on in the next few days, got on the scales this morning and have gained 4lbs! Wtaf?!

Rinceoir · 22/01/2016 07:20

Nantucket you are doing great. Field- I always put on a few lbs right before period, it falls off immediately though. I'm away for weekend so will be airport food, followed by whatever is served up by relatives, so doubt I'll be losing anything come Monday!

superbfairywren · 22/01/2016 07:49

I'm a bit late to the the party but can I join you? I've been trying to eat healthy for last two weeks and am definitely doing better than I was. My main problem or excuse is hormones. My contraception induced a delightful 3month long lifesucking period late last year and I just comfort ate my way through it mostly. I just wanted chocolate and hot drinks and carbs and so I gave in quite a lot and went back on a lot of the weight loss I achieved earlier in the year. I have lost about ten kilos in the past year and am annoyed because if I'd put my mind to it I really could have lost more. My aim now is another 10kilos by the summer and a further 10 to get me to a much healthier weight for me by the end of the year. You all sounds like you're doing really well. I haven't weighed myself in two weeks so going to get the scales out to see where I'm at then will join you on Mondays for the weigh in.
Meal ideas are really helpful. I find myself reaching for the same thing and the cold doesn't help, I just want stodge. I do much better with salads in the summer!

NantucketNightbird · 22/01/2016 10:40

Welcome superb Smile never too late to join in. Lots of people are putting great food ideas on here and we are all going for the gentle stroll approach rather than a race. But I must admit so far it's coming off nicely.

I showed amazing willpower last night when the children had spaghetti in a cream and cheese sauce. It's my favourite and I could eat a mountain of it and I didn't even have a tiny lick!

Hello there superb :)

Well, it must have been water retention as I was up all night going to the loo and 3lbs has come off overnight. I know I shouldn't weigh myself so much but I can't help it!

Nantucket, well done on the willpower!

I am craving something chocolatey like mad. I've got some chocolate flavour rice cakes in the cupboard, maybe if I spread a couple with low fat cram cheese and top with strawberries it might hit the spot.

NantucketNightbird · 22/01/2016 10:57

I'm glad it's come off, water retention makes me really bloated.

I love the rice cakes they have in Aldi with the chocolate or yogurt topping but can never eat just one. I seem to think that because they are better than a mars I can have the whole pack. Once I start that's it I have no control so I have to deprive stay away completely. It's my birthday next week and I'm not even going to have cake or anything different to eat. I see unhealthy food as a treat/reward and I'm trying to switch my mind to seeing food as fuel to keep me going. The weekend is sooooooo difficult though.

d270r0 · 22/01/2016 15:03

Yes the weekend is where I always go off plan too- its so easy to scoff whatever everyone else is having, or eating out etc. Glad the weight came off again Fieldfare, its demoralising when you suddenly weigh more for no reason! I am terrible for weighing myself all the time too.

Good 'winter salads'- I've been having roasted vegetables for lunch (pepper, tomato, onion, cougette, garlic) roasted, although no oil, I have masses of it with goats cheese, or grilled bacon and croutons. Not many calories but it does really fill you up. You can buy it ready chopped in tesco/sainsburys too.

superbfairywren · 23/01/2016 10:22

Roasted veg is great. I often do extra sweet potatoes, carrots and courgettes when I cook dinner and heat it up for lunch with some bacon or just have it on its own. DD likes it too.

Am trying not to let it slip this weekend, really need to get slimmer and fitter. So this morning even though I got up later than planned I walked the dog and then did the first level of 30day shred on YouTube(while my DD and dh had breakfast and watched me... Embarrassing!). It wasn't too bad but I really need learn to do press ups and sit ups as I can't for the life of me. Seeing a friend who is a personal trainer Monday so hoping he can teach me what to do.
My aim is to do it 5 times a week. I know its a really old work out but I haven't ever tried it so thought I'd give it a go.
Made dh take a photo of me this morning so I can take progress photos and see if what I'm doing is actually making a difference.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend and manages to keep up with their healthiness!

NantucketNightbird · 23/01/2016 12:04

I just had the stuff of dreams.... A Horlicks milkshake. It was amazing just 200ml almond milk, light Horlicks a bit of ice and a table spoon of oats. So thick and tasty I'm still stuffed.

Just checking in on the thread. I weigh in in 10 days and am worried! I'm only aiming for 1 to 2 lbs a week, meaning if I only lose 4 lbs I've met my target... but it's a little anxiety provoking. I've continued with my home made healthy breakfasts and lunches at work and not snacking in the day.

Although I'm weighing myself monthly my goal is how I fit in my trousers. I have three levels; boyfriend cut size 14's, boyfriend 12's, and skinny 12's. All same brand. The 14s are now loose and the boyfriend 12's are comfortable. My goal is for the 12 skinnies to be comfortable. My stomach is flat when I wake but my thighs/hips/bottom area is the hard to shift area so I've decided that once I lose the weight I will pick up the 30 day shred again. I used to enjoy it but I didn't lose weight. I lost fat for muscle, I changed shape, lost significant inches and felt great but the absence of loss of lbs was too disappointing so I stopped after awhile. Once I get to the desired weight I will do the shred again and that will help with my problem area!

superbfairywren · 24/01/2016 09:23

Interesting to hear your thoughts on the shred dudsville. I've not really done anything like it before. My stomach muscles(if I've got any) are really aching now and only did it yesterday morning. Hoping I can pick myself up to do it again later.
I am eating healthily and trying to be more active generally which is how I normally lose weight but wanted to do the shred to lose inches and gain some definition. My post csection tummy is beyond a joke now! And I have got to get fitter fast!

We were out for dh's birthday with friends last night and I tried to be good but probably didn't do as well as I could. Dinner was bad but I drove instead of drinking and drank lots of water. My downfall is coke, when we go out I love to have a glass of coke and I can't stand diet! I want something with taste and water all night just seems so boring.

NantucketNightbird · 24/01/2016 09:43

Have you tried coke zero? I can't stand diet coke but will occasionally have a zero as it's very similar to regular coke.

superbfairywren · 24/01/2016 16:34

I need to try it again as has been a few years since I tried it before. That green one is meant to be okay too. It's only really when we go out that I fancy it!

madwomanbackintheattic · 24/01/2016 16:55

Place marking Grin will join for weigh in tomorrow if you'll have me! We had house guests until last week so have been putting off the necessary.
Armed with Fitbit, an intention to start running again, and no clothes that fit.

NantucketNightbird · 24/01/2016 17:23

Welcome madwoman. We are certainly growing!
TMI but I've finally had a poo so if I loose anything over a 1lb tomorrow then I guess it's down to that as I haven't been in 5 days! Bloody cocodamol. I'm certainly feeling lighter after it anyway Wink

madwomanbackintheattic · 24/01/2016 18:26

According to tinternet I need to lose 56lbs to be at my optimum weight. Given that even as a skinny early teen I wasn't that weight, I think it's safe to assume that I can join in now for a lb loss a week until the end of the year and be pretty sure that will be close enough for government work! How fortuitous!
Am pleased your plumbing is fixed, nan Grin

dudsville · 24/01/2016 21:10

Hey Superfairy, are you on any shred threads? I found it helpful. It's popular on mn and how I learned of it. I did if for 30 days straight as I didn't realise about taking rest days. It was really hard at first but strength grows by the middle of each week. I then got tired of the dvd, and my knees can't do some of the moves anyway, so I then wrote down all the mixes she does and mixed them up and timed them the way she does and made a "mix tape" to exercise to. I loved this and carried on for ages. That year I did not suffer back pain for the first time in years! Your abs will gain definition quickly. Can you identify a time when you just do it regardless of how you feel? I used to wake up early to get it over with. If you can find a tune that's good for you that routine might help. I'll be curious to hear how you get on with it!

superbfairywren · 24/01/2016 22:49

Dudsville I haven't seen any of the threads no, will have to have a look for a recent one. I found the shred videos on YouTube the other day when I was looking for some new workouts. I haven't had much luck finding ones I can actually tolerate all the way through and this had good comments so I googled it and found some good reviews. Thought it would be worth a go.

I think I like the format so far, short bursts of lots of different things works for me so I don't get bored as easily and I like that there is lower and higher impact ways of doing the exercises. My stomach muscles have disintegrated since my c section and I wish I had tried this last year really. In lots of pain today but managed to keep active (Sunday is hoovering, food shopping day). Seeing a personal trainer friend tomorrow so hoping he can show me how to do the core/and exercises without injuring myself. Going to try to push on and do the shred on wed, Thurs this week then Sunday as am away fri-sat. Might even try tomorrow evening depending how I feel after pt session. I think getting up early and getting it over with will be the way I fit it in.

I feel quite motivated to get fit, especially as I can feel muscles I didn't know I had a few days ago, they're seriously not thanking me at the moment but hopefully they will when I get used to it!

NantucketNightbird · 25/01/2016 07:00

Good luck to everyone weighing today. I'm going to boots once the children are in school to get my print out. Smile

Rinceoir · 25/01/2016 07:04

Down 1lb today, 8lbs in total. Was away for weekend (staying with relatives) so had little control over eating, that will probably show next week.

WhoTheFuckIsSimon · 25/01/2016 07:08

2lbs weight loss today so 7lbs loss in total. Which Im happy with.

Rinceoir · 25/01/2016 08:42

I also did some measuring, and I've lost an inch off my bust, 2 from my waist but my hips have resolutely stubbornly remained the same! I'm not quite an hourglass, not quite a pear- but with a 14inch difference between hips and waist I have no idea what to wear while losing weight. Anyone here have any ideas?

d270r0 · 25/01/2016 10:12

Yay! Have lost another 3lb this week so down 11lb altogether. I'm feeling much better about myself and my trousers keep falling down 😯 but loads more to go.

NantucketNightbird · 25/01/2016 10:29

4lb! I'm very shocked and pleased but I've been super strict. Well done everyone you have all done fantastic, here's to another good week.

52lbs in 52wks?

Brilliant Nan!

My period is awol. Well it would be wonderful if it was absent for the right reasons but I think it's just buggering about. No point in weighing until after its showed up as I'm bloated today.

D27 that's fab! Well done!

Off out for lunch with my sister now, yay :)
