9 lbs in 9 weeks

Hope it's okay to post here, really just wanted something that I could hold myself accountable to. I'm 5'3 with a fairly slender build naturally, but was shocked to find that I now weight 9st 12lbs. I still have quite a slim upper half, but my hips/bottom are large, and I have horrible footballer's legs that I've always had.

SO...I'm going away in 9 weeks time and my mission to lose 9lbs!! My biggest aid here will be cutting down on the carbs - it's shameful how many carbs I eat.

Anyone care to join me?

im 10st - ideally want to be down to about 8st 11lb but even 9lb off will make me feel less crap about myself.

FrankWelker · 18/05/2015 12:23

9 stone 6.5 pounds. Yay!
Anyone else?

Hottypotty · 18/05/2015 20:19

Ooh that's fab! Well done. Still 9.8 this morning but feeling in a good frame of mind.
I've been reading about mindful eating and trying not to eat unless I'm physically hungry.

FoamyOne · 19/05/2015 08:32

Well done Frank, that's great! And Hotty - mindful eating is what I'm aiming for too, it's shocking how much I'll just stand next to the fridge shoveling in random bits of cheese etc if I give myself free rein.

9 stone 5 here this morning, 1lb down from last week after 2 fast days but also a lovely Sunday roast. So I'm happy with that - I think around 1lb a week is all I'm going to lose dieting at this rate, but it's sustainable for me. I'm aiming for a weight which starts with an 8 by the time we go on holiday in 7 weeks. If the weather up here would improve so that I could get out walking more that would really help.

Hottypotty · 19/05/2015 12:53

Yes, 1lb a week will add up pretty quickly. Keep up the good work everyone

Hottypotty · 20/05/2015 07:31
  1. 7 this morning
FoamyOne · 20/05/2015 08:01

Well done Hotty! Great start to the day for you Smile.

FrankWelker · 20/05/2015 09:17

Well done Hotty!
Really getting in to the exercise side of things now and it makes me pick healthier choices to stuff my face with. Total 0% Greek yoghurt with fresh strawberries for breakfast.

FrankWelker · 20/05/2015 09:18

Well done Foamy - brilliant weight loss as well.

FrankWelker · 25/05/2015 07:16

9 stones 5 pounds. Anyone else?

FoamyOne · 26/05/2015 08:54

Well done Frank!

9 stone 3.5 here this morning, down 1.5lbs from last week. I've done tonnes of walking so think that accounts for the extra .5 lb - must try to keep it up!

FrankWelker · 01/06/2015 06:47

9 stones 4.4 pounds today.

FoamyOne · 01/06/2015 19:08

Well done Frank, scales going down!

I am scared to weigh myself, and think I may just skip the weigh-in for this week. Have been 5:2ing and have been very good on fast days, and really not good at all on other days (scones, cakes, a burger and chips in the pub...). I'll be upset if have actually put on weight, so hopefully if im very good this week I can claw it back!

FoamyOne · 02/06/2015 22:18

Felt comparatively slim (well, slimmer, at least) this morning so braved the scales: 9st 1 and 3/4. I love 5:2 (have also been walking lots lately, so I suspect compensating for slip ups).

3 c-section overhang is still horrific though!!

FrankWelker · 03/06/2015 19:45

Well done Foamy! Still got my belly so waiting to see what my c- section overhang will look like!

ihatethecold · 03/06/2015 19:56

Can I join please.
I'm 5'2 and now weigh 9st 12.
I've lost 4lbs so far.
My brother has surprised me with a trip to Ibiza next month and I don't want to look like a mum of 3 with a wobble!
I use my Fitbit and walk about 15000 steps a day.
I'm on my second day of 30 day shred and I'm also using MFP.
I'm determined to get to the end of July and feel confident about my body.
I don't mind if I don't lose much weight.
I just don't want to look at photos and just see the lardy bits.

FrankWelker · 03/06/2015 20:54

Hi ihatethecold welcome! I LOVE my Fitbit!

FoamyOne · 03/06/2015 21:31

Hi ihatethecold! I am really lusting after a Fitbit Envy.

I did the 30 day shred (and then a few more Jillian DVDs) between DCs 2&3, with great results. I really should motivate myself to start again (but I've just 6 months ago) had a baby...

ihatethecold · 04/06/2015 15:39

foamy, my last was born nearly 12 years ago!

my legs are aching quite a bit from 30ds.
please join me in my pain?

FrankWelker · 08/06/2015 06:24

9 stone 2 pounds. Want the 2 c- section overhang to improve.

FrankWelker · 19/06/2015 06:53

9 stone 1 pound. Anyone else?

Wearit · 19/06/2015 07:10

Hello, if you want rapid weight loss, I recommend the paleo diet. I lost 8ibs in one week! I actually felt brilliant, but had to stop because I was losing too much weight. It is eating like a caveman-no dairy, nothing processed, no alcohol, no potatoes (but you can have sweet potatoes).so breakfast for me would have been omelette, lunch would be tuna salad, and dinner steak and vegetables with sweet pot, for example. Give it a go and you will see fast results!

ihatethecold · 19/06/2015 07:24

I like the idea of Paeleo/ low carb.
I have done it before and felt great after a few days but it wasn't sustainable for me.
I have now reduced carbs. So no pasta, rice etc.
still have some wholemeal bread.
I'm very active and need the energy
I would love to hire a chef to make me all these tasty low carb meals. It just gets so boring eating eggs for breakfast, salad for lunch, etc.

Wearit · 19/06/2015 10:46

I second that it is boring, life is too short to not enjoy food! But for a temporary solution to achieve your holiday goal it really works. I hope you have a lovely trip. All the very best Smile
