9 lbs in 9 weeks

Hope it's okay to post here, really just wanted something that I could hold myself accountable to. I'm 5'3 with a fairly slender build naturally, but was shocked to find that I now weight 9st 12lbs. I still have quite a slim upper half, but my hips/bottom are large, and I have horrible footballer's legs that I've always had.

SO...I'm going away in 9 weeks time and my mission to lose 9lbs!! My biggest aid here will be cutting down on the carbs - it's shameful how many carbs I eat.

Anyone care to join me?

Hello FW, Congratulations!! That is great.

I lost 3lbs so at the moment I am 9 stone. I am not going to weigh myself again until next week otherwise I can get a bit happy or a bit too sad depending on what it says. At the moment though I am happy!!

Here's to week two.

007JamesBond · 30/04/2015 19:48

Can I join in? I am same height and weight as OP.

icklemepicklemetickleme · 30/04/2015 22:04

Hi there, welcome!

Hottypotty · 01/05/2015 07:02

I weighed in at 9.8 this morning-think there must have been a mistake with the scales either with my install weigh in or this one!!
Either way my jeans are still too tight and I feel like a blob!
Bank holiday weekend away with friends so not holding out much hope for any loss this weekend!

007JamesBond · 01/05/2015 09:36

I'm doing the Moonwalk in 2 weeks so I'm off out for a 16 mile walk today Shock. So that should burn off a bit of fat!

DH booked a weekend away for us at the end of July so I need to feel body confident by then.

I'm going to dig out and dust off the NutriBullet.

icklemepicklemetickleme · 05/05/2015 21:31

Hi there,
How's it all going? I had a bank holiday blow out. So I am dreading my weigh in on Thursday as there is no way I will have lost anything this week. Unless I am spot on it I don't have a body that lets me get away with stuff. Heigh ho..I just carry on from here!!

FrankWelker · 05/05/2015 21:58

9 stone 9 pounds today.
Started the 30 day Shred today to firm up my flabby belly- not looking too bad even though I had two 9lb babies.

FrankWelker · 07/05/2015 21:52

How's it going Ickle? I have stuffed my face today- went out to eat and had nachos, onion rings, cappuccinos! Tried to counteract the damage by doing 1 hr 50 mins fast walking on the treadmill! Hope I still lose some. Will weigh again Monday.

Hottypotty · 07/05/2015 22:17

I haven't weighed myself since last time-have done well this week but ate tonnes at the weekend.
Feeling positive about it all though

FrankWelker · 07/05/2015 22:27

I'm also drinking loads of green tea- supposed to speed up metabolism and stops me drinking too much coffee.

FrankWelker · 11/05/2015 10:44

9 stone 8 pounds today
Anyone else?

Hottypotty · 11/05/2015 21:48

Was back up to 9.12 last night and didn't dare weight this morning. DH is away for a couple of nights so it's easier to avoid evening snacking if he's not here-he's a bit of a feeder-left me a multipack of flakes on my pillow before he left!
I really need to sort it out-I remember being disgusted that I'd reached 9.9 before Christmas and now I'd be pleased with that!

Hottypotty · 15/05/2015 10:40

9.8 this morning. Now need to keep on top of it over the weekend!

FrankWelker · 15/05/2015 11:05

Well done! 3 pounds in a week- wow!
I'm plateauing a bit so I've started interval training on the treadmill. Will weigh on Monday.

FrankWelker · 15/05/2015 11:06

Or actually 4 pounds if I could do subtraction properly! Even better!

FoamyOne · 15/05/2015 16:34

Hello, could I join you here? I'm 5'3 and this morning weighed in at 9lb 6 (and a quarter). At 6 weeks post natal, at the start of February, I was 11 stone 2 (eek!) so am quite far into my weight loss journey, but finding it a bit of a slog.

My 'natural' weight is probably a touch over 8 stone (I'm quite small framed, size 4 feet etc), but I absolutely piled on the pounds in my last pregnancy - hyperemesis gave way, at about 20 weeks, to the kind of low level nausea that only eating could stave off, and this lasted until delivery (so I had almost another 20 weeks of really hitting the carbs). I remember saying to myself at the time that I'd just deal with the consequences later, but I'm finding the 'dealing' quite hard. And despite quite a decent weight loss to date, I'm still miles off fitting my normal clothes (bf boobs partly to blame!), and my "big" clothes are far too big, so I'm just slobbing about in yoga pants and feeling quite sad.

I did a month of Weight Watchers online at the start, which depressed me too much. Then I did a couple of months of 5:2ing which I quite liked, but stopped when I got a bad cold for a couple of weeks and the baby stopped sleeping. Now I'm just "trying to be careful" but considering going back to 5:2.

With my elder DCs I did drastic meal replacement diets (w8) to shift the last 10lbs or so, but I wouldn't do something like that while feeding, and I plan to feed her to at least a year. I don't really have a goal weight in mind this time either - just aiming for slim, and to fit into my old wardrobe (partly for financial reasons!). We're going on holiday in July, so that's quite a good motivator.

Hottypotty · 15/05/2015 17:24

Welcome and well done so far!
I did low carb when breastfeeding (post 6 months) and the weight absolutely melted away-was down at 8.10 which is tiny for me. Those were the days!!

FrankWelker · 15/05/2015 21:04

Well done Foamy! Keep posting with what you are doing and what weight you are losing! HIIT is killing me but after just 2 days I can feel a difference.

FoamyOne · 15/05/2015 22:42

Thanks for the welcomes. I'm interested in HIIT - where have you found your info from, Frank? I have almost no time to exercise, but wonder if this might be doable...

FrankWelker · 16/05/2015 06:57

Due to having limited time to exercise and my DH works long shifts, we bought a treadmill. Best thing we bought! What I do:
Speed of 5, incline of 3. Walk for 4 mins, run for 1 min, walk for the next 4 min, run for 1 min. I do this repeatedly until 30 mins have passed. This is really working- in 2 days my trousers are even looser and my stomach flatter. Definitely recommend it. Previously I was doing incline 7, speed 4.5 for 30 mins- the switch to HIIT is definitely better.

Hottypotty · 16/05/2015 07:18

7 minute workout is good too. You can YouTube it. It's a series of exercises for 30 secs each. You can definitely feel the effects and if you have time (surely we can find 14 minutes from somewhere!) it's even better.

FoamyOne · 16/05/2015 08:47

Brilliant, thank you - off to google. A treadmill would be great! But in the short term there's a playing field at the back of the house which I could run around with the buggy parked in the middle while my toddler kicks a football around Smile.

FrankWelker · 16/05/2015 20:24

Plus I've just bought a Fitbit and after using it for a week I LOVE it. Aiming to burn off a bit over 2000 calories per day by just existing and exercising. Since I eat about 1600 per day this should get rid of my lardy stomach fat!

Tiredemma · 16/05/2015 20:27

Right im in- complete lack of motivation at this end. A lb a week I should be able to shift surely?

Im late but I can join??

FrankWelker · 16/05/2015 20:33

Definitely Tired. Just keep updating as I need the support! What weight aim have you got?
