Paul McKenna Can Make Us Thin! Thread Number 14 ~ A Simple Title, for Simple Weight Loss and All amongst Friends!!

Welcome to thread 14 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
  4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth and body, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those summer outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2014 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for the sunny summer time!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Virtual Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we won't be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process Smile so get stuck in Smile

Here is a link to Freedom From Emotional Eating which may give some insight into why we do this and help us beat it.

Sounds like everyone's doing really well - v inspiring! I'm in a bit of a rut at the mo, I'll have 2/3 really good days then 2/3 days of mindless eating, it's really frustrating as there's not one thing I can pinpoint that's causing me to slip back into the old, bad habits, think it's simply just habit. So trying to come up with ideas to break this cycle, think I need to alter my daily routine slightly to avoid old habits, but in a realistic do-able way. On the plus side at least I'm only having 2/3 bad days before getting back on track, so that's progress at least!

Hello everybody. Been away for the week up Milly's way but back to reality now. I need to knuckle down to Pauling. Not been a great week foodwise - much to much eating out. At least we had acceptable weather which I hope means you have been able to start sorting your house out Milly.

Loads to read here. You have all been very busy by the looks of it. I am going to a knitting show this afternoon. I really need to get more energetic hobbies - I only seem to like them if I can plant my backside on a chair. Grin. Still, I shall have to walk round the show so that is something today at least.

Have a good day all!

MillyBlods · 22/02/2014 11:13

Nogood and Yippie are you listening to your CDs daily?

MillyBlods · 22/02/2014 11:15

Hi BBBGrin glad you had a good week. Yep, DH got on the roof last Sunday with the help of DS and put half the roof back on. Still lots of windy weather here, snow storms yesterday. !

BigBoobiedBertha · 22/02/2014 11:24

Glad we are home again then! We are really fortunate that we had a relatively calm week by the sounds of it. Mind you it was a hideous drive up weather wise and horrendous down here when we left - we were expecting the worst!

Hope the roof stay on this time. Smile

Bonnie152 · 22/02/2014 15:39

Sorry you're feeling down yippee, I've been there myself this week but if you keep listening to the trance and following you rules you'll feel better :)

Doing ok so far today :) hubby made us bacon for breakfast and now he's off bowling with his friends. Took DD to sainsburys cafe for lunch and had a panini, left about half but didn't want to waste it so wrapped it up to bring home. I'm sure people wondered why I was doing that lol!

Anyway DD sleeping now and had my leftover lunch with a cuppa.

Hope everyone is doing well today :)

Bonnie152 · 22/02/2014 17:43

So annoyed at myself Confused just been making our dinner, enchiladas, and there was too much to go in them so I had the last little bit stood in the kitchen mindlessly :(

I'm not hungry now as that's filled me up - completely ruined my dinner! The silver lining is that I'd usually still have dinner but at least I've realised I'm full and not going to have it. Grrr could kick myself!!

Any tips on stopping myself picking while making food?

MillyBlods · 22/02/2014 17:47

That is my biggest downfall Bonnie I really have to stop myself by speaking very loudly the word "stop" when I start to put food into my mouth mindlessly whilst cooking. Sigh...I can consume a meal easily while cooking and like you I totally ruin my appetite.

Bonnie152 · 22/02/2014 17:55

Will try that next time Milly. As I was eating it I was thinking 'shouldn't be doing this' but still carried on. So annoyed! Hopefully I'll feel hungry for it later on as enchiladas is one of my favourites!

GossamerHailfilter · 22/02/2014 18:13

After seeing a picture of myself taken this afternoon at a childrens party I have ordered a copy of the book in the hope that it can stop my bad food habits, mainly afternoon picking Blush

So I am joining this thread to try and keep me on the right track.

Bonnie152 · 22/02/2014 18:18

Welcome Gossamer :)

You've definitely come to the right place - paul mckenna really is the most liberating way of eating and losing weight there is.

MillyBlods · 22/02/2014 18:22

Well this afternoon I listened to my gastric band cd and even though I drifted in and out, I heard a lot of it. I feel better already and am making better decisions. Whew!

Bonnie152 · 22/02/2014 19:14

That's fab Milly! It's amazing what difference it makes isn't it! I think I'm leaving it until I'm too tired to listen because I fall completely asleep (I know it's ok to fall asleep) but feel in a deep sleep and don't even wake up at the end. Will try to listen before I'm so tired tonight. Do you find it's better when you're more awake or sleepy?

So glad I'm back on board with PM after the SW disaster! So refreshing! Grin

MillyBlods · 22/02/2014 21:09

Yay!!!! Well done Bonnie. Getting back into this way is definitely refreshing. I listen to the GB one usually in the late afternoon. I can drift off but generally its said that as long as you wake up when he says wake up, then you have been successful.

Bonnie152 · 23/02/2014 13:09

That must mean I've been unsuccessful lately then :( definitely waiting until I'm too tired. Will listen this afternoon instead of waiting til I go to bed.

How's everyone doing today?

Solo · 23/02/2014 13:19

Hello all and welcome GH :)

Not weighing today, but as of yesterday, I was 8 1/2lb down. Hoping that I can continue.
Off to Mums for roast beef, Yorkshire puds etc today. Will go for a smaller plate I think.

Bonnie152 · 23/02/2014 14:09

Well done Solo, bet you're chuffed Smile that's fab! Mmmm love a good Sunday roast, can't beat it!

MillyBlods · 23/02/2014 22:15

That's great Solo. Grin

Bonnie152 · 24/02/2014 08:47

Hi everyone.

Didn't listen to the trance yesterday, went to bed nice and early to listen but unfortunately DD had other plans and woke at 10ish. She's been up most of the night and finally went back down at 4am so v tired today. We moved her into her own room yesterday so was to be expected I suppose.

Still, plodding along with the 4 rules and hopefully will be able to listen to the trance later when missy decides to sleep! Smile

How was everyone's weekends?

MillyBlods · 24/02/2014 17:26

Did you manage the trance Bonnie... I'm off to do mine nowSmile

Bonnie152 · 24/02/2014 18:03

Yes I did earlier when my DD was napping and feel better for it Smile going swimming tonight for the first time on my own, feeling excited but nervous! Never been to this pool before either so hope I don't make a fool of myself by wandering into the wrong places!

How has everyone's day been?

LoulabelleWH · 24/02/2014 22:41

Hi folks!

I'm hitting a brick wall with slimming world, which I have been doing on and off for 4 years now and lost a sum total of 9lbs...

Time to try something else. I read this book about 5 years ago and thought wow this will be easy. Then I completely forgot about it and have since put on around 2 stone.

I will be following this thread for support, and hopefully this one will work!

Wish me luck!

Solo · 25/02/2014 00:43

Hi Loulabelle welcome! :) get stuck in, we are a friendly bunch and there's usually someone here!

Bonnie152 · 25/02/2014 06:44

Welcome Loulabelle Smile you will love it here! I recently strayed away from PM and into SW and it just made me think about food all the time, feel deprived and pig out on 'naughty' things. With PM no food is off limits Grin

LoulabelleWH · 25/02/2014 09:37

Thanks for the welcome! I sat and read through the the thread last night after I had posted, and I am feeling very inspired at this moment in time. On SW I noticed I was thinking about food ALL the time and it got to the point where I thought 'this is silly' (and probably unhealthy too!) I've had a cup of tea this morning and a slice of toast with real butter from a mini loaf, and I enjoyed every bloody mouthful! Trying to decide how full I am right now... I reckon satisfied but not full which is about where I should be I hope :-)
