And anyone else who wants to join in. The idea of this thread is a way to record weightloss, motivate each other, discuss which methods if any we are using to lose weight and give the occasional kick up the bum.

Right you lot. I was going to wait until new year to start this thread but I think that if I'm going to have my head in the right place to start, I need your help now. I haven't weighed yet I'll do that on the 1st but I think I probably have 2 1/2 stone to lose. Last time I had 3st to lose so I'm seeing that as a postitive.

So, are any of you still out there? Who'd like to join me? Xmas Grin

Is the strap a pita to wear Kato? I'm liking the sound of it :)

1Madhouse · 09/01/2014 20:01

Done the gym yay ! And bkd for spinning tomorrow night also. Been good food day to so feeling good.
Will read through everyone else's day when I am on the iPad later as can see bugger all on this I phone.

Reastie · 09/01/2014 21:00

Fab 1ad enjoy spinning tomorrow,

kato I have been nosing on amazon at heart rate monitors and they look fab. Assuming they are accurate at kcals burned? Can you wear it all day like a pedometer so it tells you how many cals you've burned all day? Which one have you got? I've got an amazon voucher from chrimbo so might treat myself.

Yes thanks. No bad after effects from returning to Zumba (I have a dodgy hip that DH thinks is aggravated by going to my class, but I refuse to give it up and am just waiting for a referral to the hospital now after seeing GP after GP and 2 different physios.)

Day was good, low cal and healthy lunch, but then spoiled it rather by having tea out with the kids, then an ice cream at panto. Was a one-off though as tickets for Panto was my Christmas gift to all my family so it was an outing for the 8 of us. Great fun. And it was a rock and roll panto so there was a bit of standing and dancing at the end, so I didn't sit on my bum all evening. :)

Hope everyone's getting on well.

KatoPotatoHoHo · 09/01/2014 23:53

Reastie I got the polar ft4 on amazon reduced from £75 to £54 or so. I've looked into it and they are only accurate for training sessions and not all day. It's not uncomfy or awkward at all, I just wear it below the band of my bra!

For whole day tracking they say the fitbit is best, I do have one but I kept forgetting to wear it! It's in a drawer somewhere if you want it?? Have a google and see what you think? X

ifandwhen · 10/01/2014 09:11

thanks eighty - I'm ok. Logging calories on mfp and trying to keep moving a bit more during the day as a start. Haven't really used mfp before, I'm finding its quite good for keeping me conscious of what I'm eating i.e. its such a faff to log something it makes me think twice about snacking! I have no idea how accurate its 'if everyday was like today you'd weigh x in 5 weeks' is, but it looks very encouraging anyway, so am enjoying that, fantasy or otherwise!

Is the idea to weigh in here on a Monday?

KatoPotatoHoHo · 10/01/2014 10:19

Dream no longer if you're now on the sheet!

ifandwhen · 10/01/2014 10:40

yeah!! thanks Kato!
and looking back through the thread to find the spreadsheet link, I re-read Hair's comment 'my body is not a dustbin' - good point, and definitely one for me to remember when clearing up remains of kids' tea... thanks all.

Reastie · 10/01/2014 14:21

if I just like looking at the 'if everyday was like today' and wishing/hoping that will be true!

I've had a new dress arrive today, I've coveted it for months. Ordered in a size 12 and it's a teeny bit tight Sad . Really not sure if it's suits me though can anyone offer any thoughts?

1Madhouse · 10/01/2014 15:08

You look like you have a great figure reastie but without upsetting you I would say it doesn't show it off to its best. Sorry. It's awful when you love something and then doesn't work on you.

Something a bit more fitted ?

KatoPotatoHoHo · 10/01/2014 15:33

Hi love, how brave of you to face the S&B jury! - Did you expect to hear 'Not thrilled about the tights' ?

Check you out! you're vanishing! FWIW I love the print, and while it might be a smidge tight If you like it I'd keep it, I think its cute - but I'm 33 and still wear what I damn please too!

Reastie - I'd say wear what you like, enjoy your own style, but then I don't think I'll be winning any S&B plaudits any time soon! Although I like to think I have a strong sense of style, and have clear ideas of how I like to dress, I am (temporarily) back to aiming for not disgracing myself. You look great in the photos, and if you love it I'd say keep it.

Speaking of disgrace, I had that awful, awful moment where someone did a double-take at my stomach area today - I presume they were thinking I might be pregnant again! Didn't have that problem before Christmas, so am quite shocked at what a few weeks of lazing about scoffing can do to a person! And more infuriatingly, I should know this! I've been round this block before!!

Strangely though, am still feeling upbeat, and like its all do-able, just going to take some time. Thanks for the inspiration all.

Reastie · 10/01/2014 16:33

1mad yes, I think I thought that when I tried it on. I just love it so much I want it to work! it's being packed up to return. See, you lose weight and you can't ever manage to wear anything you fancy Confused . kato I was Grin about the tights comment as I love my wooly tights and only had them on in the piccie as they were left over from my work gear I changed from to try the dress on when they arrived. I find the S&B gang really good at working out what flatters/doesn't, and I don't care that they are blunt. eighty it's the 2 pin plug figure - slimish legs and disproportionately big tummy (well hidden). V impressed by run AND swim - get you! No exercise for me today but been pretty good on eating front so far.

Reastie · 10/01/2014 16:35

x posted if gah, I hate the double tummy take. I'm SURE they weren't thinking that though, I bet it's all in our head. Glad you are feeling inspired though.

ifandwhen · 10/01/2014 17:43

thanks Reastie!

2kidsintow · 10/01/2014 18:39

Have had very little to eat today as I've had a tooth out. Ouch!

Finally sucked up the courage and have eaten a tuna mayo sandwich on soft bread, tearing off tiny bits at a time.

Good for the diet though, I suppose.

1Madhouse · 10/01/2014 21:17

Just a quick check in as off to bed. Spin class was fab and walked there and back. Good eating today though did have a piece of Xmas cake with coffee when a friend came round !!

Justified it by thinking it is full of fruit !
Keep up all the good work as summer is just round the corner and we all want to look fab in our white trousers.
