And anyone else who wants to join in. The idea of this thread is a way to record weightloss, motivate each other, discuss which methods if any we are using to lose weight and give the occasional kick up the bum.

Right you lot. I was going to wait until new year to start this thread but I think that if I'm going to have my head in the right place to start, I need your help now. I haven't weighed yet I'll do that on the 1st but I think I probably have 2 1/2 stone to lose. Last time I had 3st to lose so I'm seeing that as a postitive.

So, are any of you still out there? Who'd like to join me? Xmas Grin

I'm here. Not a terrible day yesterday but everything just adds up so quickly! Just dressed for a 'speed and agility' workout I'll be doing in a min. Off to the cinema tonight so debating making a nice home made snack of some kind to try to keep me on the straight and narrow but struggling for ideas with what's in my cupboard. Hopeful for a teeny loss this week but not complacent.

Eighty I watched a programme about cinema popcorn and apparently it's dirt cheap to make that the box you hold it in can cost more than the actual cost to make the popcorn inside it Shock . Someone's making a killing on selling popcorn somewhere. Well done your DH btw.

IMST it took me 3 reads to work out what P&Q meant Blush clearly I don't have enough myself

2kids how's the tooth?

KatoPotato · 12/01/2014 10:03

Morning! I'm lurking too. kettlercise yesterday was great, back to form and considering going up to 8kgs...

DH birthday today, so it's Chinese for dinner and after being good all week, and in anticipation of Sunday I weighed on Friday... drum roll back to 141 already!! That's nearly 7lbs in two weeks! That was my Xmas gain so you were right hair it came off easy enough. So now the real work starts!!

InMySpareTime · 12/01/2014 11:54

Popcorn is super cheap to make. You can buy popping corn by the 500g bag (from Holland and Barrett, or "ethnic" shops usually), a handful will fill 3 or 4 children for pence. My DD likes salt and sugar, DS likes brown sugar and cinnamon. I like a bit of chilli, paprika and garlic flakes on my popcorn.
You can also use popcorn as a topping for chilli, instead of nachos.

Reastie · 12/01/2014 16:32

OK, I'm getting ready for the cinema. No idea how hungry I'll be so packed a whole mini mart more than enough. I hope I don't feel the need to eat it all but would rather have too much than be stuck in the cinema feeling starving (it's one of my mental issues with food, being worried about not having any when I'm out. Sounds mad I know!). I'm taking 3 chocolate coins (my treaty thing), some nuts and raisins, a fruit bar, some rice cakes and some soy nuts. Fingers crossed I resist as much as possible in quantity (as individually in small amounts they aren't so bad). I wish I could eat popcorn but it makes my tummy all bloated and gives me major gas (dratted IBS). The thing I'm struggling with at present isn't eating the right things, it's portion controlling amounts.

We have a popcorn maker somewhere at the back of the cupboard I remembered though. Must get it out to try it as a snack for DD. IMST how do you get the flavours on the popcorn? Whenever I've tried with my maker I sprinkle a bit of, say, sugar on the top of popped corn but it doesn't taste the same and all the sugar just goes to the bottom of the bowl. I want to know how to get it to stick on more!

Reastie · 12/01/2014 16:34

completely forgot, kato well done on being back to 141, what an amazing loss, great start to the year. Also, forgot to say in my pm Blush please can I at least pay postage again for the thingymajig? I can paypal it to you, I think I did that last time? Anyway, let me know your deets and how much whenever and I'll send it over.

ifandwhen · 12/01/2014 17:46

hi all, just checking in. Well done everyone, sounds like a lot of motivation going on!

I've been fairly restrained on the food front, finding mfp really useful. Went for a long walk with the family yesterday, and a short run this morning - approx 1.5k. I figure as it's so short I have no excuse no to fit it in 3 or 4 times a week, and then extend it... Hope you're all having a good Sunday and see you tomorrow.

TheOneWithTheHair · 12/01/2014 19:04

Evening all. Sorry I've been quiet, rl got in the way a bit. Everyone sounds like they're doing really well.

I have been ok on the food front and no alcohol but I was out for a meal and drinks on Friday so we'll see in the morning.

No exercise though as I've had a painful chest. It's muscular so not serious. It doesn't half restrict what you can do though. It's very irritating!

I'm off to watch Sherlock in a bit. Mmmm Benedict Cumberbatch is my current crush. Can't explain why though. Blush

2kidsintow · 12/01/2014 20:54

Mmmmm......popcorn. We have an air popper machine. Fab low calorie snack, until I smother it with syrup. :)

My mouth is getting better. Managed solid food yesterday and today (yay!) I haven't been monitoring what I've eaten and some of it's been not very good, but as it's been in small quantities I think it evens itself out.

I'm still really scared of chewing in that area but it's improving. :)

northender · 12/01/2014 21:15

Evening. I have been shown this thread by Stealth. I I am too fat for all my clothes.
The time has come to stop eating like a slob and 'treating' myself every night.
I am weighing tomorrow morning and after my panic subsides I am going to try and be sensible
It's very nice to meet you all.

Morning

My name is Youcan and this morning I am motivated Wink

I have just weighed and it wasn't as bad as I thought as I have been good over the last week ish. So, I have about 20 pounds to get back to a normal size for me (size14) which I am happy with. I am quite tall and I carry it well at a 14.

So - 20 pounds here I come.

Does everyone weigh on a Monday and then post weight loss??
I LOVE a weight loss thread Grin

StealthPolarBear · 13/01/2014 06:40

Glad to hear it youcan!
I am 12st3 which means I have lost a pound since last week. However I am quite bloated since yesterday's excesses :( and I know it was more than that before. No guilt straight back on it today. Another 3 days of no chocolate or sweets, if I can.

WillYouDoTheFandango · 13/01/2014 06:58

Morning all, I'm a newbie too. I had DS December 2012 and was a nice weight due to gestational diabetes Grin. Since them I've eaten and eaten until none of my clothes fit. I'm now back to work, DS is teething and ill baby plus no sleep seems to equal overwhelming desire to stuff myself!

In weighing in at 11st, I want to be 10st or less so at least 1st to go.

StealthPolarBear · 13/01/2014 07:00

Hi fandango :)

WillYouDoTheFandango · 13/01/2014 07:07

Morning Spb

TheOneWithTheHair · 13/01/2014 07:10

Morning everyone. You all get up sooo early!

This week I am feeling full of motivation and I am going to do better. I haven't weighed yet but remembering the night out and the massive portion of veg lasagne I had aswell this week my hopes aren't high.

I'll weigh after the school run like always.

Stealth well done on your pound. It's always good to go in the right direction.

Hello all the new converts. :) There is a spread sheet somewhere linked on the thread where we have recorded our weightloss. I have no idea how it works but Kato can add you if you want. Just let me know on the thread and I'll make a list of anyone who wants to be added.
