And anyone else who wants to join in. The idea of this thread is a way to record weightloss, motivate each other, discuss which methods if any we are using to lose weight and give the occasional kick up the bum.

Right you lot. I was going to wait until new year to start this thread but I think that if I'm going to have my head in the right place to start, I need your help now. I haven't weighed yet I'll do that on the 1st but I think I probably have 2 1/2 stone to lose. Last time I had 3st to lose so I'm seeing that as a postitive.

So, are any of you still out there? Who'd like to join me? Xmas Grin

I had two choc chip snack a jacks! Equally delighted!

Reastie · 11/02/2014 16:45

Right, finally managed to get a picture of me on the ss avec old skirt! Worked out how to do photos with less memory. Didn't come out that well but you can see the change in size (just excuse the floordrobe in the background and the fact I'm all sweaty Blush )

Have found a new guilty pleasure - bounce protein bars. mmmmmmmmmm delish [easily pleased] . Although at 180 kcals sort of feel I may as well have had chocolate Confused . Still, ore nutritious I guess and kept me filled up all afternoon.

I too am a fan of the dark chocoalate rice cakes, but could easily eat a whole pack....

Hair did you do it? what did you think?

eighty well done on the run.

KatoPotato · 11/02/2014 16:51

What are these bars and where do you find them?

I can't get the photo sheet to load...

TheOneWithTheHair · 11/02/2014 16:53

Kato spotted them in waitrose but have seen them around various places these things . I had the Spirulina & Ginseng Ball. It was really nice and filling but I'm a bit dubious as so many things try to sound like they're healthy when they're not. I usually have a pack of snack a jacks in the afternoon, often also succumb to chocolate before dinner too, but the bounce thing kept me fine till dinner, so maybe the calories equate to both of those usual snacks (which are high in sugar and carbs but not protein). What's the kato expert opinion?

Hair I hope you enjoyed the cookie, now you've got to do shred tomorrow to burn it off Wink

Eighty I agree, kato does look like an athlete doesn't she.

Ahhh eighty. I've just scoffed a crococrisp bar and half a bag of vegetable crisps... With zero excercise

TheOneWithTheHair · 11/02/2014 22:19

I am definitely going to shred tomorrow.

You lot are making me hungry.

Gang Show this week.
Lots of exercise moving the set and getting curtains on and off about a hundred times a night!
All counteracted by huge amounts of backstage cake.
Should all even out in the end...

Another cardi-ectomy for me today thanks to Gillian Micheals. I'm actually quite proud of myself and I was a bit scared. That's why I still had my cardigan on to start, it's my comfort blanket.

It was hard but I kept going all the way through. I sort of enjoyed it. I can feel it now and I know I will tomorrow. :)

Well done hair and hope you enjoy(ed) spin and circuits eighty.
Just finished shred here - plans for this morning changed due to weather so had no excuse to put it off until Friday. Really would like to keep it up, say 3 times a week, so would appreciate any nudges/kicks to keep at it!

Really inspired by the photos, and I'd be interested to hear what people's goals are now?

My short term goal is to get under 150lbs - would then be within healthy BMI range again. Medium term is to lose the belly flab. Longer term, to be svelte, stylish, slim, superhumanly fit, stress-free etc. etc. Smile

ifandwhen · 12/02/2014 12:43

Sorry, meant 154lbs there. Maths error!

TheOneWithTheHair · 12/02/2014 13:15

Short term is to get my head back in the right place and stop slacking with this diet.

Long term is to lose 1.5st. That is meant to be the ideal weight for my height.

I want to not be carrying the extra around when I move. The last time I tried gym membership the pt there gave me a 1st medicine ball to hold. It was very heavy. Well I was carrying three of those around with me all the time. It was a shock to have that in my hands.

OP posts:
InMySpareTime · 12/02/2014 13:43

I get the "carrying" analogy. I picked up my 12yo the other week and thought "wow. I was walking around carrying this much weight and more! All. The. Time."
Granted, he's not a very heavy 12yo, but he's over 4st, and I lost 5 1/2. No wonder I got tired walking up hills!

ifandwhen · 12/02/2014 14:29

thanks Hair and IMST - that's interesting about carrying. Going on ideal weight for height, I could also do with losing 1 - 1.5 st. Would love to feel that much lighter.

Yes re: carrying around a weight. I've lost the weight of about 3 DDs. Every time I pick her up and moan at how heavy she is I'm Shock at how I carried around so much weight all. No wonder I ached and was tired all the time and everything was such an effort! Now when DH is carrying DD up a hill and complaining about what hard work it is I just tell him I used to carry around 3 x that extra weight all the time. Soon shuts him up!

eighty healthy food sounds lovely. I also find some stuff you'd think was really healthy adds up so quickly! Tbh I think so long as it isn't an obscene portion and generally things are under control it's fine.

My short term goal is losing about another 8 lbs to be in the middle of a healthy BMI. Long term goal is to maintain this and just increase my fitness and get as toned as possible. Tbh long term goal is also short term goal too! If I didn't lose any more weight I'm OK with that, but do want to be more toned.

TheOneWithTheHair · 12/02/2014 21:53

I have a theory I want your opinion on if that's ok?

My weight is relatively stable when it comes to my normal diet which means I pretty much use what I consume in terms of calories. Leaving aside food for a minute, if I up my exercise I should lose weight as I'll be burning more than I'm taking in.

If I lose weight, I'll have to do more exercise to burn the same amount of calories, as I'm not carrying as much.

Does that sound right to any of you?
