And anyone else who wants to join in. The idea of this thread is a way to record weightloss, motivate each other, discuss which methods if any we are using to lose weight and give the occasional kick up the bum.

Right you lot. I was going to wait until new year to start this thread but I think that if I'm going to have my head in the right place to start, I need your help now. I haven't weighed yet I'll do that on the 1st but I think I probably have 2 1/2 stone to lose. Last time I had 3st to lose so I'm seeing that as a postitive.

So, are any of you still out there? Who'd like to join me? Xmas Grin

The meanies just don't think do they! I know he loves it at nursery, he's been there since he was 8.5 months and he's 4.3 now- he struts about like he's top dog and the staff let him get away with murder! He's going to have such a shock when he goes to school! Grin

ToeFluff · 22/01/2014 17:36

It's evil that I think he needs that shock too!

Reastie · 22/01/2014 18:09

Oh eighty Sad how heart breaking. I used to leave DD with MIL and have to prize DD from me kicking and screaming at me leaving her with MIL. I used to go to work with wobbly knees and feel sad all day. DD will be starting nursery soon and I'm very wibbly legged about this too, she's a very clingy child and I hope it's not too hard for her to adjust.

Not going too badly today, lest we count the choc coins here too.

TheOneWithTheHair · 22/01/2014 18:55

I think you have realistic expectations about your ds Toe! Grin

I've not kept up as I've been ill. Weighed on Tuesday which will be my regular weigh in day. I'm following the principles in the Food Doctor books. It has worked for me before, I lost almost 4 stone but wasn't in the right frame of mind, quite depressed and so put the weight back on. I will start exercising again, fell at Xmas and was on crutches for a while but am good to go now.

TheOneWithTheHair · 23/01/2014 14:11

It sounds like you've had a tough time northender. Onwards and downwards from here!

Sorry guys... DH bought me them...

ifandwhen · 23/01/2014 14:46

Hi northender - sorry to hear you've been having a tough time.

Everyone - Kato and eighty especially since they requested this - "Step away from the sugar. Leave it be. You can do it. Be strong. etc"

Not that I accidentally-on-purpose had a bite of lemon drizzle cake this morning before remembering myself - oh no Smile Fortunately DS disappeared the rest!

northender · 23/01/2014 18:22

My tale of woes probably sounds worse than it actually was but all systems go now! The food doctor principles I can remember offhand are
Eat 5 times a day and never go more than 3 hrs in daytime without eating
Each time you eat it should have protein and complex carbs
Drink plenty of water
Exercise
Eat fat to lose fat
Control portion size
Follow this 80% of the time

That's 7 of the 10, not sure of the others. I like having them to follow rather than a strict plan but it needs planning especially the snacks I find. My staple snacks are an apple/pear and nuts, carrot sticks with hummus, and sometimes even oatcakes and cheese!

Have done well so far today but a few hours to go yetGrin

Kato, I'm sorry but I did laugh a little at your gym+ minstrels post! Grin

Busy few days but I'm feeling proud. I was soso good today. I sat in a meeting for an hour with a plate of chocolate biscuits right in front of me and I wasn't even tempted!

KatoPotato · 23/01/2014 23:25

I went back to the gym after DS in bed for more punishing metafit! The session was topped off with two whole minutes of burpees!

Damn you minstrels

TheOneWithTheHair · 24/01/2014 12:08

Can I boast about a couple of NSVs please?

I had my cardigans surgically removed from me over the last two days. This is a big deal as I'm rarely without one, even in summer! I've been wearing size12 skinny jeans and short jackets so no hiding the wobbly bits.

Loads of people have told me I'm looking good. Not just dh who looks at me with rose tinted specs! Even ds2's teacher complimented me. Hmm

Anyway, it was just the boost I needed.

BuellerF are you a nchanger or lurker or have I completely missed something? I can't think how to write that question without it sounding rude. Sorry if it comes over that way.

OMG! HAIR a cardi-rectomy! I never thought I'd read the day!

Well done you!- flaunt it!

TheOneWithTheHair · 24/01/2014 12:54

Hahaha, cardi-rectomy!! I'm so stealing that. Grin

northender the food doctor thing sounds like it speaks alot of sense. i've been roughly following those principles.

I'm also following the sugar addicts thread with interest as I definitely feel a slave to sugar. Still tempted to go cold turkey with it. I did it before a few years ago and felt fabulous being sans the white stuff and didn't get awful sweet cravings. I had the worst headache ever the week I gave it up though, serious withdrawl.

Hair go you on the cardi front and NSV, woohoo

Kato serious brownie points for metafit.

Things OK here today. Haven't been able to workout since Tuesday though and can't wait until tomorrow morning when I can do a workout DVD.

KatoPotato · 24/01/2014 15:33

I want to try a serious sugar cut back too, but don't want to end up like those miserable low carb bods who aren't allowed bananas!!

Two squares of 85% dark chocolate today. No gym tonight, looking forward to a bath!

Kettlercise in the morning and Spin on Sunday, I'll be okay I reckon!

TheOneWithTheHair · 24/01/2014 15:56

There is no way I'm giving up sugar. I need sweet stuff and I don't want to put aspartame or honey in everything!

I'm definitely a moderation person rather than temporary/permanent bans on stuff. I crave it too much if I feel I can't have it.
