And anyone else who wants to join in. The idea of this thread is a way to record weightloss, motivate each other, discuss which methods if any we are using to lose weight and give the occasional kick up the bum.

Right you lot. I was going to wait until new year to start this thread but I think that if I'm going to have my head in the right place to start, I need your help now. I haven't weighed yet I'll do that on the 1st but I think I probably have 2 1/2 stone to lose. Last time I had 3st to lose so I'm seeing that as a postitive.

So, are any of you still out there? Who'd like to join me? Xmas Grin

hair*, I too imagine you with v glam 'big' hair.

Just been googling to find some hair that is suitably volumous but MN won't let me upload!

InMySpareTime · 15/01/2014 20:39

Hair is more glam than me, but that's not saying much (I'm now in sweat pants and a hoodie). She has a handbag and a nice coat and ladies gloves.
I wear whatever fits reasonably well from the charity shop, so am usually overdressed or overly slobby (sometimes both at the same time!)
One good thing about being short is now I'm slim I can get cheap clothes from the children's section.

TheOneWithTheHair · 15/01/2014 21:02

Haha. What are "ladies gloves"?

In my head my hair looks like this.

The reality is closer to this unfortunately.

I actually love the idea of holding back some calories for evening as I can go all day without food. It has been known to happen on more than one occasion. I wouldn't do it deliberately though.

Ladies gloves are leather driving gloves. Far more glam than my biker gloves!

TheOneWithTheHair · 16/01/2014 09:36

Ah, ladies gloves. I see, nit for keeping okra in then? Grin

Morning everyone, I'm having a good week so far which is just as well as I have a school mum's night out tonight. It will be a heavy one probably as all the mums in ds2's year are pissheads like a drink or two.

How is everyone else getting on this week?

sherbet no food should be banned. It will make you crave it more. Try to work it into your calorie allowance. You will start to lose soon. Keep trying and make sure you don't give in because you haven't seen a result yet. It will happen if you stick with it!!

I'm still here, went into a comatose state at the spreadsheet tomfoolery!

It's been DS's birthday so had to make a cake and probably ate a LOT of icing and smarties, then we had Dominos for dinner (only three slices for me... but still!)

Spin last night, Kale smoothie this morning - Made with kale, frozen mango, berroca, a banana and a scoop of whey protein. Surprisingly delicious.

I'm also registered for a 10k with no running experience! - Did the first C25K on the treadmill and it was far too easy, but don't want to jump ahead of myself, will do again tonight at the gym.

I also had to resgister DS for Primary 1 on tuesday, emotional day all round!

TheOneWithTheHair · 16/01/2014 10:47

I remember the first time you did that Kato! With the bra shopping in Asda. Grin

Hope ds had a good birthday. :)

Happy birthday, Kato's DS.

We're on the mend here.

Enjoying catching up on the discussions of running, preemptive snacking and ladies gloves... I also find I need something to keep my hands and mind busy to avoid snacking when not hungry in the evenings. Am knitting a shawl at the moment - was going to be a poncho, but I keep altering the design, now on about #4, and hopeful that this is the one!

I skimmed through the Fast Exercise thread yesterday - did anyone else read that? Advocating short bursts of high intensity exercise to boost fitness levels, also apparently good for regulating glucose levels and sugar cravings. Am going to look into this a bit more, and interested to hear your thoughts...

TheOneWithTheHair · 16/01/2014 13:52

Too much work, not enough time, but at least it stops me eating!

Busyness is clearly the key.

It's the first time in my adult life I've weighed this little. I was mostly 10st before, but at my heaviest I hit 14st.
It's hard to find bras to fit, now I'm a 26" chest, that's the only down side I can think of...

2kidsintow · 16/01/2014 17:42

Hurrah. I've stuck to my 'no breakfast cos I can't be bothered, soup, fruit and a cereal bar for lunch and whatever's not too bad for tea' diet and have lost another pound. :)

I used to be stable around 12 st 0 and that's my very first goal - to get back to that as I've crept up over the last couple of years.

I've won a fab purple next formal dress from ebay that looks gorgeous. I can zip it up.....almost all the way. I have 5 and a half weeks to manage the last inch of the zip! :)

Reastie · 16/01/2014 18:16

Hello all,

Glad I'm not the only one doing a pre-empative snack. I did realise last night, I've managed to knock one of these habits on the head though. I always used to eat a bit of toast or snack bar after I arrived at work but before I started teaching so I wasn't too hungry for break, I no longer do this.

IMST wow, you really are absoutely teeny tiny now aren't you. Can I ask, was that your goal from the beginning? And, when did you know when to stop with the WL?

2kids glad the breakfast thing is working for you, and yay to the lovely dress.

I thought today was a god awful diet day as I've been so hormonal and wanting junk all day. Didn't do a workout as feeling to hormonal terrible excuse and felt like I'd eaten too much, but just did MFP and even though I have been over my 1400 kcal aim, I'm still under 2000 kcals so hopefully damage isn't too bad. Still, I feel like it's been a bad day as I feel like I've chickened out of exercise when I should have made myself done it.

Who was speaking of the short bursts of high impact exercise? I see the logic of that. Quite a bit of my workout dvds are really high impact manic and I definitely feel it helps control my appetite and has made me healthier.

Hair I always pictured you as a very trendy/kooky glam woman with bright lippy and wonderful hair and pulling off a fab tea dress or two in a very trendy type way (the picture is very sophisticated glam in my head but I may not be explaining it well) now I have leather gloves added to the image :) . How different are you to that then?!

TheOneWithTheHair · 16/01/2014 18:41

Can anyone link to the exercise thread please? It sounds like interesting reading.

2kids, you will get in that dress! And you'll look fab! Remember to leave it where you can easily see it. It will help your motivation.

reastie yes to red lipstick. My favourite is pillar box matt red.
Never worn a tea dress my life. I usually wear black when I go out. Very simple but I have fabulous jewellery!!
