And anyone else who wants to join in. The idea of this thread is a way to record weightloss, motivate each other, discuss which methods if any we are using to lose weight and give the occasional kick up the bum.

Right you lot. I was going to wait until new year to start this thread but I think that if I'm going to have my head in the right place to start, I need your help now. I haven't weighed yet I'll do that on the 1st but I think I probably have 2 1/2 stone to lose. Last time I had 3st to lose so I'm seeing that as a postitive.

So, are any of you still out there? Who'd like to join me? Xmas Grin

OP posts:
FattyMcSaggyChops · 13/01/2014 07:11

Can I join please?

I was 15st 9 last Monday but due to d&v got down to 15st 2 by Thursday! Grin

But going to weigh myself today but fully expect to be 15 9 again!

Went to the park with DDS yesterday and DD2 wanted me to play tig...I couldn't even run, she's nearly 4 and I couldn't run after her Sad

TheOneWithTheHair · 13/01/2014 07:15

Welcome McSaggy. Glad you found us. I bet you haven't put it all back on yet. See it as a kickstart.

You will soon notice the difference if you give it a go.

FattyMcSaggyChops · 13/01/2014 07:29

I like the idea of a Monday weigh in but might have to push mine to Tuesday as I weigh in at Boots so it's getting there. I work on a Tuesday so easier to pop in on my lunch than try get there on a Monday with dds in tow :)

But working today as a one off so will check in later.

I got to 14st 2 for our wedding in Oct 12 but have put it all back on. But I'm motivated now, I need to be fitter for my girls. They were both on bikes yesterday but won't be long before dd1s stabilizers are off and I'd like to dust off my bike and ride along side her.

Am reading all your stories for inspiration. If I can lose 1lb per week I'll be so pleased. :)

Reastie · 13/01/2014 08:23

Hello everyone

Just weighed in. 2 lbs down Grin better than expected so hopefully it's not a fluke. That takes me down to one of my goals, 100 lbs down, yay. Fab start to the first MM weigh in.

TheOneWithTheHair · 13/01/2014 09:24

Well done Reastie, two pounds is fab and 100lbs is truly a great achievement! Be very proud of yourself!! :)

Well I lost a pound so going in the right direction. Last week was almost like a practice week for me it didn't seem to go very well so I want to be really on it this week. I'm going to try to menu plan a bit more. I think that will help a lot.

Hello everyone.

Well done Stealth, Reastie and Hair!

Weighing in: 2 lbs down. Very pleased to be off to a good start - I have this impression that whenever I consciously try to lose weight I immediately stick at the same weight for months and infuriate myself.

But the shock of getting back on the scales after not weighing myself for a long while has certainly focused my attention! And am finding mfp very helpful. And you all, thanks for inspiration.

KatoPotato · 13/01/2014 10:16

Well done team! Some awesome first losses!

A special hand, please for reastie's 100poundaversary!

Happy to add anyone who wants on the spreadsheet of awesomeness! just post below!

TheOneWithTheHair · 13/01/2014 10:30

Well done ifandwhen. A successful week fir you too. Grin

Just thought I'd link to the spreadsheet again for anyone who hasn't seen it.

Well just 1.5 off for me. Was expecting a lot more but oh well. Going to do exercise DVD at home tonight as can't get to gym today. Welcome mcsaggy and there are always upsides to d&v. I remember one memorable Xmas where I lost 10 lbs.

reastie 100 lbs off ?! Amazing. Will do a proper catch up tonight.

Well done all.

TheOneWithTheHair · 13/01/2014 12:25

Well done Eighty and 1Mad!

We've all had a good week by the sound of things. Let's keep it up and not get complacent. Keep moving and watching what you eat.

Motivational Monday thread .... Am I pleased to see you?!

I was on the thread for some months last year, used to love logging those numbers ever week on that spread sheet..... Is there a new one?
I lost almost 3 stone, have put on a couple of kg since I fell of the wagon, though only a couple. I used MFP religiously which certainly helped me and need to get back into seriously counting cals because right now I'm not!

I probably want to lose another stone though not sure exactly what my goal number is. I know I want to go down at least a dress size.

TheOneWithTheHair · 13/01/2014 12:44

Welcome back Tober. There is a new spreadsheet that I've linked to a couple of posts above. I don't know if you can add yourself but I'm sure Kato can do it anyway.

FattyMcSaggyChops · 13/01/2014 13:32

Just back from boots and I'm 15st 6lbs. Pleased that I didn't put the full amount back on from my bug.

This will be my start weight.

I have a weekend away with my family, all my siblings and partners so thats 2 skinny sister (and one is pregnant, still skinnier) and 2 skinny sister in laws plus 5 tall and slim men (well 4 tall but 5 slim). This is valentine's weekend.

First goal, be under 15stone for my weekend away.

I'll take it from there. Ideally i won't to be 11st 6lbs as Boots scales say this is what I should be for my height, or at least this is the high end of what I should be. When I set big goals I always fail as they seem so unachievable so I'll aim for smaller goals and hopefully that way I'll stick to it.

I can't add myself to the list as work is blocking it so I shall do it tonight. I am looking forward to this now and hope that all your great stories will keep me going.

Lastly, hello everyone and thanks for having me, feel free to call me Fatty and i'll change it when I'm down to 14 stone Grin

Tobermory · 13/01/2014 14:22

Thanks for the welcome both and hair for politely pointing out the link to the spreadsheet, that was bad looking on my part!

I looked at the archives from last year and so impressed with those who carried on plugging away all year, wow some amazingly losses!

I know exactly the problem and have had this a few times when starting diets. Its the getting past the 'sod it' stage. You know when youre in the Post office buying a stamp and your head is turned by chocolate so despite the fact you know you want to lose weight and go down a dress size, you think 'sod it', buy said chocolate and wolf it down. Hypothetical of course ! Blush I know once I get past the SIS then ill be ok and will be able to waft past chocolate with ease....its just getting there. Need top tips!

TheOneWithTheHair · 13/01/2014 15:18

Alright Fatty I'll await the nc and celebrate with you. Grin

Go shopping full Tober. I find things much easier to resist if I'm not hungry. I can never quite breeze past with ease but I find my internal battle is shorter and the good side wins more often.

OP posts:
KatoPotato · 13/01/2014 15:21

Ahh tober how are you? I did swither before I hit the 'delete' button on the spreadsheet!

Can someone summarise the new names please? I'm really rubbish at skimming!!

I finally tracked down a bag of kale! Going to roast in the oven with salt and a little oil...

TheOneWithTheHair · 13/01/2014 15:25

Um, let me know about the kale. I'm sceptical to say the least.

I will do a summery by the end of the day if that's ok?

OP posts:
KatoPotato · 13/01/2014 16:09

Oh but apparently roasted Kale at a party is better than crisps and a real conversation starter!

I can imagine!

'WTF?'

Reastie · 13/01/2014 16:25

Roasted kale party snacks? Kato you will have to update with how this goes! Hmm

Did an insanity workout earlier and touch wood been good today. Went to the GP for a routine apt for my rpt prescriptions and she took one look at me and weighed me to log it in my notes (I had 'OBESE' written in my notes, like that, big and bold Blush ). Hopefully I have now removed that flag up in my medical notes :)

Thanks for the 100 poundiversary comments. I'm really pleased tbh. Didn't think I'd get here, ever. Size 16 was my initial goal that I never thought I'd manage and I'm a size 12 Shock . It's not 100lbs yet on MFP though as I never logged my heaviest weight on there, so I'll have another of these WLversaries hopefully soon Grin

Hello tober good to hear from you, and hello fatty nn change impending I feel when you lose all the weight.

Well done on fellow losses

Youcanringmybell · 13/01/2014 16:38

Some fantastic weight losses on here!
Can someone add me to the spreadsheet please?

Youcanringmybell starting weight 13/01/14 183.5lbs Sad

TheOneWithTheHair · 13/01/2014 17:28

I have a list of everyone on the thread who isn't on the spreadsheet yet.

Sherbetpips
MonsterMunchMe
northender
makemineapinot
iWantChampagneOnColaBudget
Youcanringmybell
FattyMcSaggyChops

Out of interest, eight people who've posted on this thread have names relating to food/drink/weight. I have no idea if that means anything. I just thought it was interesting! Grin
