My goodness...sorry I fell off the thread.

Congratulations Hazel and not its not too early for flutterings. Mine were at three months. I think you are having a girl because of the strong morning sickness. Women seem to have worse hormonal fluctuations when carrying girls than when carrying boys...apparently...and that was definitely my experience. I was sick as a dog with my first, a girl but was not ill much at all with my little boy.

TheRealAmandaClarke · 16/06/2014 19:11

Hi FRs.

Fasting today.
Have eaten: 4 donut peaches, half an apple, a handful of lettuce, one white coffee, a mouthful of roast lamb, 2 baby tomatoes, 3 blueberries, 1 grape.
Grin

Hazelbrowneyes · 19/06/2014 08:23

How did you manage just 1 grape? Grin I need to eat at least half a punnet in one sitting! I also read that as 4 peach donuts and thought “oh, I’ve never had a peach donut. I wonder if I’m missing out.” Doh.

Thank you milly Grin

Well the dreaded stretchmarks are appearing already, FFS. I’m using bio oil but if anyone has any recs as to “this actually works” then please let me have them. I’ve never had a flat stomach either so I’m now feeling a bit blue that I’m unlikely to ever have one of those now!

We’ve just booked a holiday for next month so that’s extra motivation to eat better as well. My energy levels are definitely up a bit so I’m going to introduce some gentle exercise – especially some squats and weights as my arms and legs look yucky.

I can’t really remember what I’ve eaten this week Blush I do know I had sausage casserole and rice on Tuesday and managed to eat a decent sized portion of it.

Yesterday:
B – crunchy nut cornflakes
L – ham and cheese salad wrap
D – small portion (it really was) of fusili in a tomato and olive sauce
S – S&V squares, kit kat, diet coke x 2, full fat coke x 1 (whoops to the caffeine consumed), another bowl of crunchy nut.

We stupidly didn’t get anything out of the freezer for dinner so no idea what we’ll have tonight. My little aim for today is to actually eat some fruit and not drink any coke.

Doitforme · 19/06/2014 11:07

Hazel don't do squats. Not good for your pelvic floor with all that excess pregnancy pressure. Could cause leaking or vaginal prolapse . Walking, uphill if poss, really tones your legs up.

TheRealAmandaClarke · 03/07/2014 07:49

Help! Where have you all gone?
I've not fasted for a couple of weeks (holiday did not help) and most days I've been snacking and mindlessly emptying packets of chocolate biscuits into my mouth eating. My trousers a too snug. It has to stop. Its all comfort eating (not enough sleep and too much stress-work is awful) and I'm out off control. I am determined to remember the words that attracted me to this thread "stop bingeing and start eating healthily"

So. For the next few days I am eating mindfully and not snacking. I will eat my five a day and next week I will have two fasts. "Slowly" is my aporoach to returning to my previous success.

Today
B: toast with peanut butter and black currant jam.
I know were having spag Bol for dinner. My aim is to avoid lunch unless it's some fruit to count towards my elusive 5 a day.

TheRealAmandaClarke · 04/08/2014 07:46

ok. If you've noticed a food shortage its because I've eaten it all.
Snacking and comfort eating.Blush
I need you back fellow revolutionaries!
My clothes are starting to get snug.
I know you've been stressed wellies and i hope things are improving for you. I need to eat better and cut out the drink in order to feel healthier and calmer. So I'm back at the point where i was inspired by your "stop bingeing and start eating healthily" thread.

And hazel i hope all is going well.
I miss you all actually. Would love some updates and fellow inspiration.
Just having some toast and marmite with my morning coffee.
I am very keen to avoid snacking and to not have any alcohol today.
One day at a time.

So, anyone still there?

Twinklestar2 · 04/08/2014 12:39

Hello everyone!!

Long time no see! I have just read back the thread since I last posted in Feb (can you tell I'm on mat leave Grin). Many many congrats to you Hazel on the pregnancy and well done on the no drinking month that you had. Awesome!!

I'll be back posting properly soon as I'm due in 4 days and I've put on 4 stone so looking forward to eating well and exercising once baby is born.

Hope you're all well :)

TheRealAmandaClarke · 04/08/2014 17:33

Yay Twinkle how exciting! Im so delighted to hear you're on maternity leave. I hope you're getting some rest.

I will do a food report later.

TheRealAmandaClarke · 04/08/2014 21:27

Ok. Not a great start. Blush
B: toast with butter and marmite
L: leftover Singapore noodles and rice
D: 2 large slices pizza and a couple of dough balls. 2 small glasses wine
Snacks: 2 digestive biscuits.

I haven't done great. I only wanted to stay alcohol and snack free tbh.
But.
I have been much more controlled than of late. Which is both a reasonable start and an indication of how easily i had slid into gluttony (and wine) through stress.

So. Try again tomorrow. Grin

MillyDots · 05/08/2014 10:36

Hi AmandaSmile
I shall join you in getting back to being more mindful. I will listen to my PM cd today to re boot. Will post food later. Grin

TheRealAmandaClarke · 05/08/2014 21:07

Yay. Hi milly how is your summer?

Omg i have not been good today. I have had biscuits and i had bread and butter just now with my cup of tea whilst making the kids' packed lunches Blush
No wine though. And the fact that that needs saying is quite telling.
I do feel pleased about that tbh.
Agggghhh. Just wish i could get back in "the zone"
Anyway. Really pleased i had no wine. I just need a decent sleep or two to help with the mood i think. Grin

MillyDots · 05/08/2014 22:19

Brilliant thanks. Such a lovely long hot summer.
My eating is the same. I have maintained my weight which is good and try to stick to the mindful eating principles ( but not always ha ha)

Me today...

Clarence Eggs (Waitrose) scrambled in salty welsh butter
Chestnut mushrooms in salty welsh butter (see a theme here)

2 Bendicks chocolate mints

homemade lasagne with salad and spoon of hellmans

cup of tea and two gingernuts

slice of bread with butter, strong cheddar and Geetas Mango Chutney (o my god, it is soooo good, has anyone else tried it???)))

lots more cups of tea and many trips to the loo......Smile

TheRealAmandaClarke · 06/08/2014 06:36

Ooh. Sounds yummy. (All of it Grin)
Well done with the good eating.
I must not snack today. It is hard though.
I have to say, i feel soooo ,much better for mot having had wine last night. But as today is like my "friday" i fesr i might succumb this evening. Must be moderate about it.
Will post todays food later.

MillyDots · 06/08/2014 19:53

I used to love a glass or two of wine and a vodka and coke but I have completely stopped drinking now. I started cutting it out about 5 years ago and have stopped completely in the last 3 months. I just couldn't tolerate it any more. I always get headaches immediately after drinking.

Me today...

A smoothie.......2 bananas, strawberries and blueberries with a large spoon of full fat greek yoghurt and half a cup of milk.

3 Bendicks mints

Baked fish in spring onion and white wine sauce, potatoes, broccoli and peas and carrots.

Strawberries and bananas dipped in melted galaxy chocolate. (OMG!!)

How did your day go then Amanda Smile

TheRealAmandaClarke · 06/08/2014 20:02
Blush I actually cant even begin to tell you how badly i scoffed today. I am really struggling. Its all comfort eating. Ridiculous! So. I have to meal plan (trying to do this now but distracted as i have loads of work to do) and get straight back onto it. Its not even complicated. All i need to do is stop snacking. Grin Well done milly
MillyDots · 06/08/2014 21:09

Thanks Amanda. So...what is your meal plan?
I cant remember, what approach do you do with your eating? Were you fasting?

And where is everyone else?

TheRealAmandaClarke · 09/08/2014 08:00

Lol. I feel I have forgotten too Milly
I was fasting. 5:2. It was great! Then I lost my way, fell off the wagon and into the cake tin Blush
I thought I could manage by eating "mindfully" but I am rubbish.
I need to go back to fasting. Just gearing myself up for a FD. Probably Monday as DH isn't here then.

TheRealAmandaClarke · 09/08/2014 08:03

wellies was super busy with loads of stuff.
hazel and twinkle busy being pregnant.
And I haven't heard from lego in a long time.
Missing you all.

MillyDots · 09/08/2014 18:43

Im still doing Paul McKenna and his cds.
I cant do 5:2 as it gives me migraines but I can seem to do 14:10. I did read that 14:10 is the optimal for women because of the way our hormones work but 5:2 is good for men and they cope better than we do on it.

Yesterday

rice crispies, sugar and milk

omelette sandwich

Rice, mushroom, broccoli, spring onions, peppers and peas with chicken cooked in orange and honey sauce.

Today

one slice toast with salty Welsh butter and Australian honey

one fried egg in olive oil on toast

one banana

4 ginger nuts

homemade chicken and coconut curry with yoghurt and fresh coriander
and popadoms.

and I may have some haagen daz salty caramel icecream to follow.

Smile

so Amanda when shall you and I do weigh in then to keep us on the straight and narrow to get into all those love midi skirts for winter???

TheRealAmandaClarke · 10/08/2014 15:47

You do eat some good food Milly
I am going to go back to 5:2. I plan to fast tomorrow. But i also like the idea of variations of it, so eating between 11am and 6pm or whatever. I find it useful to have firm rules in place so i can either eat or not eat. Iyswim.
Today has been chaotic what with one thing and another.
B: bacon, fried egg, wholemeal toast and tomatoes.
L: 2 small slices pepperoni pizza, spoon of coleslaw, yogurt.
D: going to have spaghetti puttanesca. I will also have wine and a mini magnum Blush

TheRealAmandaClarke · 10/08/2014 15:51

Bum. The dreaded weigh in.
I am actually scared. But perhaps i need to.
We could report in on, maybe next friday?
Is that too long?

MillyDots · 10/08/2014 16:45

I hate weighing in too as I find losing weight very difficult. Would you prefer every two weeks or we don't have to weigh at all Smile

Thanks for the compliment. Im just a foodie!!

TheRealAmandaClarke · 10/08/2014 17:08

Cool. Every two weeks is good. I think PM recommends that sort of arrangement?

MillyDots · 10/08/2014 22:21

Good, so we will do it two weeks tomorrow ...is that ok?
Me today.

2 gingernuts and tea
One small coconut choc bar
2 tablespoon beans with butter on one slice buttered toast
Grapes 7
2 strawbs dipped in choc
2 banana chunks dipped in choc
1 cracker with butter
Roast dinner…..one quarter chicken breast (small) , 3 small chunks roast potato, peas, broc, butter, carrots, gravy (small plate but still couldn't eat it all)
Small piece of choc brownie as in one inch square and one teaspoon icecream
2 more roast potato chunks

I have been inserting the gastric band on a daily basis to keep it up and totally immerse self in it and it is amazing. Cant eat much and get fully very very quickly.

TheRealAmandaClarke · 11/08/2014 09:22

Oh dear. I have just weighed myself.
9st 5lb. That means i have gained about a stone. Sad
I think its about 59kg.
So. Fasting today. It was tough making pancakes for the kids brekkie. Grin
Aiming for a zero fast with fruit if i cant bear it.
