Welcome to thread 13 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

1. Eat what you WANT
2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those Christmas outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2013 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for Christmas and The New Year!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Virtual Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we wont be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process :) so get stuck in :)

Hi everyone Smile hope you're all ok and in the festive spirit!

jingle glad your DH apologised to you, must be so disruptive to your sleep!

Unfortunately despite good intentions with PM during hubby's job loss I didn't manage to keep it up and just went back to eating mindlessly. Yesterday DH got a new job so we celebrated with a Chinese (needless to say I overrate!) but with the good news we've had I'm determined to start again.

We have Chinese leftover so will have some later when I'm hungry and stop when full.

I think posting my food up here like some others have been doing will be helpful for me too Smile

Can't believe how close christmas is now! Feels like it's crept up upon me somehow!

Have a great day everyone!

MillyChristmas · 21/12/2013 13:01

That's brilliant news Bonnie. We'll done with rebooting pm.
I spent most of yesterday in bed with bad headache but this is what I ate....more towards the evening when I felt better

2 slices salty buttered toast with marmalade

small portion chicken tikka, salad, few chips and popadom

4 squares Cadbury nut chocolate

2 Bendicks mints

got up at 4 in the morning and had a slice of toast with salty butter

lots of cups tea

Smile
Bonnie152 · 21/12/2013 13:39

Thanks milly are you feeling better today?

Can't beat salty butter on toast! Yum!

NoGoodAtWittyNames · 21/12/2013 14:29

That's fab news about DHs job Bonnie just in time for Christmas too Xmas Grin

Hope you're feeling better Milly

I haven't eaten anything yet today, stuffed my face with chocs at work last night, must have seriously overdid it as still not hungry! Back on track now though at least

MillyChristmas · 21/12/2013 16:07

Im good today thanks ladies.
Jingle if I remember correctly, are you late forties and if so are you peri menopausal or menopausal?

Bonnie152 · 21/12/2013 18:36

nogood thank you Smile yes great news to get, now we can enjoy christmas.

Today's food:

A cherry scone with lurpak (ate about 3/4 of it)

Small Toffee nut latte

Small ham and cheese omelette and salad (ate about 3/4 again)

1 satsuma shared with dd

Small plate of party kind of food (sausage roll, sticky chicken skewer and duck spring rolls)

Currently having a glass of sherry and have some peanut butter ice cream in the freezer if I get hungry later on.

We're settling in to watch a christmas film, not sure which one yet.

How's everyone else's days been? Smile

Jinglebeans456 · 21/12/2013 21:08

Hi All

Good news Bonnie re DH's new job. Hi Millie. I don't think I am peri menopausal or menopausal. How would I know? And why?

Good news, hubby's anti snoring ring worked last night. A miracle?

I even woke a few times astounded and listened to his breathing which sounded so clear. He even said today that his sinuses felt clearer.

Hope it's not just a one off? Somehow I don't think so.

Well today ate at 12.30. Had:

An Hawaiian cheese panini with chips

Couple teaspoons choc ice cream

5 leonida chocs
Slice fruitcake

OComeAllYeFaithFul · 21/12/2013 21:43

Wonderful news Bonnie, enjoy the festive season with that weight lifted Xmas Grin

Interesting jingle! My DH snores, not as bad as he used to (he lost a couple of stone) but I might try one on him!

I won't list my food, just because I did that with a friend once and I associate it with dieting. However I'm pleased to say I've been shredding again after an absence and eatingpre mindfully. Thursday I went out for a Christmas lunch with work to an amazing restaurant. I had some biscuits when I got hungry later but still felt full at bedtime so I didn't eat any more! I would have had tea because I thought I needed it before.

MillyChristmas · 21/12/2013 22:34

Jingle sorry I just couldn't remember if it was you who was nearly 50. I thought that maybe your weight gain and difficulty losing weight could be related to peri as it gets harder and harder to lose weight at this time. Smile
Do you want me to still put my food menu up Jingle. If its helpful I will but if you don't want to then I wont. Lol.

NoGoodAtWittyNames · 22/12/2013 08:41

Sleep at last Jingle hurrah! Isn't it funny how people can be so anti something which you know will be so good for them? My DH is the same with PM, point blank refuses to read the book or listen to the CD, he seems to have some weird vendetta against him, silly man (my DH not PM obviously!)

I'm trying to immerse myself in all things PM at the mo in preparation for spending Xmas at my mum's. She's a great believer in 3 meals a day regardless of whether you're hungry or not, always prepares way too much and then takes great offence if you don't clear your plate. I'm really looking forward to seeing her (she's a 3.5 hour drive away so don't see her very often) but it's definitely going to be a challenge when it comes to eating and keeping the peace! I'm going to warn her today when I speak to her that I'm PMing (I've lent her the book before, which she's chosen not to follow, but at least she should understand what it's all about) so I'm hoping that she'll understand then if I'm not eating a lot. If not I can see me spending a lot of time in the bathroom with the app's panic button!

Jinglebeans456 · 22/12/2013 10:56

Morning All

No need to list foods anymore Millie, thanks. It helped me see how much I was snacking, and not eating properly, but feel I'm okay in that area now, as more aware of it.

I could be coming up to the menopause though, as I'm approaching 50, so yes that could be involved. However I've always had probs with my weight especially since 20's, so not sure it's menopausal.

Well done Faith on eating mindfully, and enjoying work Christmas lunch.

Hi NoGood. My DH scoffs at PM as well. It's funny how he is still overweight though?

Well he snored again last night, and when I looked at the ring on his finger, after again half waking him, grabbing his arm to look. I noticed he had put it on the wrong way. I tried putting it on again in the dark, but could'nt see, so was not sure if it was on properly.

To save another argument, I slept again in the spare room. I'll make sure I put it on him in future. He won't read instructions, or even listen how to put it on. He just thinks it's another one of my weird ideas.

11 am now, not eaten yet, haven't felt hunger. So saving it for lunch, as we are going out for Sunday pub lunch. Will take some mixed nuts with me if hunger beforehand.

SoloXantiaClaws · 22/12/2013 13:55

Hi all!!

Yay! for new job :)

Yay! for no snoring :)

Boo! for snoring :(

Yay! for not needing food list! (me neither).

I'm nearly 50 too (March) and have not entertained Aunty for over a year :( I'm very sad about it actually...

Jinglebeans456 · 22/12/2013 21:06

Hi Solo

Your post made me laugh. I still have Aunty flo, and still as regular. I'd love it if I fell pregnant, however it'd be a miracle, and then I'd be saying' what have I done!', as DD can be difficult at times. However that is so easy to forget, when I gaze at her asleep like a beautiful angel. She makes my heart melt. So still get broody at times :)

MillyChristmas · 22/12/2013 21:30

jingle are you trying to get pregnant? Shock

Jinglebeans456 · 22/12/2013 22:34

Well we don't use contraception, but it would be a big miracle. We just live with ' what wil be, will be'. We had DD through ivf, after years of trying, lots of money and previous failures.

So we are just getting on with our life now, and enjoying it, apart from ' that snoring'.

MillyChristmas · 23/12/2013 01:05

Oooo so you would be happy to conceive if it were to happen. I am going through the menopause (I think) and am now early fifties but would genuinely would find having a baby at my age really tiring. I had my daughter when I was 29 and my son when I was 30 so after a 20 year gap would not fancy that again Xmas Smile

SoloXantiaClaws · 23/12/2013 23:57

Just coming on to wish you all a fabulous Christmas and Mindful Eating Xmas Wink.xx
