Welcome to thread 13 of the Paul McKenna's I Can Make You Thin weight loss system.

The Golden Rules that will aid you on your journey with our like minded friendly support system are:

1. Eat what you WANT
2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
3. Eat CONSCIOUSLY
4. STOP eating when you are satisfied and full

This weight loss system is about re-educating your body; learning to listen to it and in doing so losing weight and inches. After all, eating a meal is not a competition, it's about enjoying what you are putting into your mouth, but not feeling bloated and uncomfortable (or guilty) afterwards!
Many people have issues around food. Many of us have been brought up by the 'clear your plate' parents of yesteryear which leave us feeling guilty if we leave even the smallest morsel of food, but we are working through this guilt or any other hang up we may have, and we are learning to leave a bit on the plate; return to it another time if we really want to or even feed it to the dog or the bin!
So!! forget diets; they may work for a while, but they aren't permanent solutions. This is a new way of living for your brand new life!! Let's get lighter for those Christmas outfits!!

The Paul McKenna system really works and is easy to maintain.

I've C&P'd our previous threads links as they are helpful.

Here are the book choices on AMAZON which is all you need to get started! they aren't compulsory, but they do help! it's something to refer to and listening to the cd's can really focus you.

This is the tapping technique EXPLAINED - this can be useful to combat cravings.

You don't have to buy the book and CD, but we have found that they do help and somehow they keep you on track, so it would probably be a good investment and will cost you far less than a couple of trips to WW or SW meetings, so do consider having them in your life.

Please feel free to join us, whether it's 10lbs or 10 stones you want to lose.
We are friendly, supportive and successful, but we're not hungry and that is a great way to feel when you are dropping dress sizes at the same time!!! so come on in and start living your new life today and make 2013 your year to drop a dress size or several...if we can get those lbs off a few at a time, just think how we could look and feel for Christmas and The New Year!!!
Some of our thread members are also doing PMK's Virtual Gastric Band and although this thread is not about this avenue, we will still be supportive of our friends partaking of this, so don't think we wont be there for you. I'm pretty sure that the Golden Rules will be just as helpful in this process as the I Can Make You Thin process :) so get stuck in :)

To be fair though Stephen Fry has been bi polar all his life and has attempted suicide a few times. Without his medication I don't think he would have been here today. Sad

MillyRules · 27/10/2013 15:22

Nope not losing weight just maintaining. Want to lose more weight, really do but it just doesn't happen. Sighhhhh!!!!!!! Saw that Alibaba has gone on the five point two and is losing. I couldn't do that as it would bringing on diet mentaility and overeating.

shezam · 28/10/2013 07:15

Hi all! I installed my gastric band last night and then again this morning. I'm a bit unsure about how it all works really. I am a grazer, usually don't eat breakfast then eat fruit etc throughout the morning at work. Then for lunch I usually have soup or a mugshot (cuppa soup with pasta) I can see this being a problem.

Can anyone help please?

ppeatfruit · 28/10/2013 10:23

Morning All Halloween Grin shezam I'm not sure if having the 'belt' in makes any difference but you don't have to eat breakfast you just have to eat when you're actually hungry so grazing is not helpful unless you're filling up properly.
All the rules are explained at the top of our thread but the way I got into it properly (it takes a while anyway esp. if you're used to bingeing) is to CHEW each mouthful slowly;take 15 to 25 chews (depending on the food of course). And wait till you feel really hungry then eat slowly and consciously!!! I made it work when I was teaching by taking a chewy meal or snack with me like.as you say, fruit and macadamias and or walnuts. Of course if you're up and down a lot and walk about then the weight comes off more quickly IME.

It's weird milly our sonIL has lost 3 stone on the 5;2 DD2 can't do it nor can dh IMO Paul Mckenna is miles better because YOU EAT WHEN YOU'RE HUNGRY ffs also your stomach shrinks naturally!!! it's good you're maintaining anyway Grin. Phew that was a long one!!!!

MillyRules · 28/10/2013 13:02

shezam it's all explained in the book. The four rules and why they work. It's about not dieting but doing what's natural.....only eat when hungry and stop when full. Diets force you to eat to limited calories but if you tune into your own body it will control your cals for you naturally Grin

MillyRules · 28/10/2013 13:32

pp did you notice I changed my name in your honour Wink

ppeatfruit · 28/10/2013 15:13

MillyRules · 28/10/2013 16:06

lol...

shezam · 28/10/2013 18:32

hi all, thanks for your help this morming. I read the book cover to cover last night, installed the band. was just a bit overwelmed this morning. Unsure how I can eat consciously when im at my desk although I have had a fab day eating wise. really hope its going to work for me. Soup and a sandwich for tea which I couldnt finish, its a miracle! x

MillyRules · 28/10/2013 18:55

Shezam it does definitely work. I find listening to the cd a couple of times a week helps. In fact I haven't listened for a while. I'm maintaining and never gain weight but still want to lose another stone. Eating when genuinely hungry and really need to eat is important in learning what true hunger is. This process takes about six months to master in my opinion.Grin

shezam · 28/10/2013 19:39

Thanks Milly. im looking forward to reading everyone elses stories and going to try and listen to the cd at least once a week. wish I could get it on my phone so I always had it with me! x

MillyRules · 28/10/2013 20:16

I think you can get it on your phone....Confused

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 28/10/2013 20:23

Hi shezam! I'm Faith. I've got the CD on my phone - I ripped the CD to my computer then put it on my music on my phone. Last year when I was in hospital in pain and stressed I found it helpful to listen to it, helped me relax!

I am doing rubbish to be honest :( Still struggling with Faithlet's reflux and lack of daytime sleep. I did leave some tea when I was full though so that's something. Really should think to do the tapping.

shezam · 29/10/2013 06:34

Hi Faith! how did you rip it from cd? sorry I'm not very clued up! my partner might be able to do it though :) x

FaithTheVampireSlayer · 29/10/2013 07:26

What kind of phone do you have? I've done it for my HTC desire and more recently an iPhone. I put the CD in and opened media player (iTunes for the iPhone), click on 'rip' and it'll put it on the computer. Then you link your phone to the computer and you can put it on the music on your phone.

shezam · 29/10/2013 08:41

Brilliant, thank you :D I've got an S4, i'm sure i'll figure out.

Day 2 for me, breakfast was one boiled egg two slices of toast. Was tough to know when I was full this morning I jut have to take it slower I think. Left a little bit then when I arrived at work thought I was hungry but had some water instead, the feeling has dissapeared.

Looking forward to hearing how everyone else is getting on.

ppeatfruit · 29/10/2013 09:19

Morning all Halloween Grin shezam that 'feeling hungry too soon after eating' feeling is helped by a glass of water and I have a green/mint tea which deffo gets rid of it!

Are you sleeping ok? because lack of sleep doesn't help Faith As you know when we're tired we don't secrete the hormone that tells our gut when we're full apparently.

MillyRules · 29/10/2013 11:05

Morning Ladies......morning ppSmile Smile Smile

MillyRules · 29/10/2013 11:11

Think I will listen to my cd today.....maybe that's why weight loss has stalled. Blush

ppeatfruit · 29/10/2013 12:10

Hi milly Grin There are a couple of things you could do to give it a kickstart if you want!
