50 fab news re your DH :) what course is he doing?

I am having a sort of unintentional fasting day today. Had one scrambled egg for breakfast and lots of tea coffee and water . Had x2 rice cakes with a smidgen of spread and have got salmon and salad for tea . Not weighed in a while , I think it demotivates me but I'm feeling a bit slimmer in my clothes.

Everyone sounds like they are doing really well

SixPackWellies · 13/06/2013 07:48

Morning all.

Well, I ate small portions last night and when I weighed myself this morning I was 10 stone 6. 10 stone 6. I ran around the bedroom yelling with delight. Then weighed myself again to confirm. 10 stone 9. WTAF?? So I have been weighing myself on and off for the past hour and I am still 10 stone bleeding 9. what happened??!!

Will weigh in again tomorrow.

Bastard scales!! Poor wellies. Don't give them any power over you. My bastard scales do this too, so I just swear at them and waltz off. Well done on smaller portions, I find cutting portion sizes of food is one of the hardest thing to do.

Nfd for me today, but not v hungry so will skip breakfast and lunch and have my current favourite meal of whole meal pitta pockets filled with cheese salad. I might even have a flapjack square. Keep at it everyone!

twinklestar2 · 13/06/2013 09:18

Argh Wellies I hate it when that happens!!

I went out for a curry last night eeeeek!

Low day and a run later to balance it out!

iheartshoes · 13/06/2013 09:26

Weighed this morning .. 9.6 ! Yay ! Not sure whether it is the low carbing or the fasting that's done it but am v pleased :-)
wellies well done on your loss ... I always go by the lowest weight on my scales i weigh different amounts in different parts of the house apparently !!

50shadesofbrown · 13/06/2013 09:30

Heart My DH is doing a general 'Access to further education' course. Basically it will mean that he can go to university even though he didn't get fab grades at school & they are quite old now, as he is actually dead brainy, especially at maths, he is thinking of doing accountancy at university.

Wellies all scales are evil.

I fear I have this bug after all. Have rung in sick to work. I hate being off ill. Feel dreadful.

Emilythornesbff · 13/06/2013 09:35

50 shades get well soon.

iheart great loss. Well done.

Good going baking

wellies naughty scales. You know you're doing well.

Fasting today. It's tough for some reason. Food everywhere.

SixPackWellies · 13/06/2013 09:42

Oh 50 hope you feel better soon. Thanks Well done to your DH.

My scales are evil, and they are lurking in the corner smirking at me. Bastarding scales. Grin

I initially thought I would go with 10.6, iheart.. then thought that if I went up again next week it would be too depressing. hence weighing in tomorrow. Grin I think the small portions are working though. I am having teeny amounts of food, and am welcoming the hunger. As DH said... you need to feel hungry to lose weight!

Today:

B- coffee with ss milk x 2; 1 ryvita with hummus and cucumber.
L- cup of veg soup, 1 ryvita with boiled egg
D- green beans, carrot mash and a protein of some sort. Tossing up between baked tofu or baked chicken breast. I do a yummy crumbed tofu that I adore, but that is NOT low-fat!

Emilythornesbff · 13/06/2013 19:21

wellies your menu today looks super - slimming.

I'm fasting.
Managed to avoid breakfast, lunch and supper. Only had calorie free drinks apart from a couple of coffees with s skimmed milk and nothing to eat.
I'm unlikely to cave now but it has been tough today.
I was planning to go to the gym but there seems so much to do round here (because there is)

O&DFR.
Em.

Emilythornesbff · 13/06/2013 19:22

Lease share your tofu recipe esteemed leader.

twinklestar2 · 13/06/2013 22:14

Menu

Oat so and ss milk
Humour wrap, quavers
Veg stir fry with noodles
Crunchie, biscuit, yoghurt

twinklestar2 · 13/06/2013 22:15

Houmous wrap, not humour wrap!

Emilythornesbff · 13/06/2013 23:53

Grin twinkle

SixPackWellies · 14/06/2013 07:06

Morning, still 10.9, so have to accept it. [hangs head]

In the end the Dcs were having sausages so I had half a sausage and veg for dinner.

The tofu, well I just get Cauldron tofu, and press it for a few hours. That means wrapping it in kitchen towel, and weighting it down with heavy cans. This gets extra water out. Then slice into large slices, and crumb as you would crumb chicken strips or a schnitzel. I like to add a teaspoon of smoked paprika to the mix, or garlic salt, or dried herbs, depending on what I feel like and then I fry in quite a bit of sunflower oil (or any other oil that has a very mild taste). So, not low-fat but yummy, and the tofu inside goes all fluffy. I prefer it to meat schnitzels really. Sometimes I do this, but cut the tofu into chicken-nugget sized bites before crumbing, The DCs all love this, and will guzzle it all up, and it is a great alternative to meat as we are limiting our meat consumption now.

Today- will continue with super small portion sizes. I was not that hungry either last night... maybe my stomach has started to shrink!

O&D FRs!

Emilythornesbff · 14/06/2013 08:03

Hey ho sixpack you're still going in the right direction.
The tofu thing sounds great. I will try that for ds, thanks.
Small portions are a great idea IMO. So logical. You don't have to make separate meals from the family and stomach gets accustomed to eating less volume. Brill.

NFD for me today. Still trying to avoid bingeing though.
Bf: yogurt, melon, fruit toast (1 slice) and mocha coffee.
Lunch: out. Who knows.
Dinner: hmmm. Chicken salad? I have a chicken in my fridge awaiting its fate. Or maybe houmus and pitta???

Should I WI? Didn't do yesterday, sorry.

SixPackWellies · 14/06/2013 08:18

Mmmm...... your menu looks good Em

I have just been musing about rapidly-softening courgettes and have decided to make a courgette, pea and mint soup. Yum.

hoummis, pita and salad might be on the agenda for dinner here too. Yum.

Morning!

How?s everyone doing?

Spain was delightful, sad to be home and already back to work. Hoping to leave early today though.

Managed to eat relatively well?a quick overview of food consumed:

Breakfast everyday consisted of: 1 slice of bacon, some beans, 1 hash brown, 1 egg. I mixed it up a bit by having cold meats and cheese 1 day, chocolate croissant another day but the rest of the time it was water melon (in addition to the cooked breakfast!).

Other food: chorizo pasta, Spanish omelette, white asparagus with mayo, mixed salad, hamburger, chips, spaghetti with olive oil and garlic, spaghetti with tuna, tapas (chorizo croquettes, meats and cheese, prawn pil pil, patatas bravas, meatballs, chicken croquettes, garlic bread)

Didn?t eat any desserts ? most unlike me. Did drink a lot of wine. Yesterday I had a mini snack pack on the plane home, a slice of cheese on toast then went out for Indian?onion bhajis followed by gujeratie chicken of which I had a mouthful and decided I was stuffed so I have the remainder for dinner this weekend Grin

Did a reasonable amount of walking. Walking on sand really hurts your calves! I think in total we walked 4 miles a day, not at a super fast pace, more ambling along but it was lovely.

Weighed myself this morning?still 8st 13lbs so I?m really happy with that. DH even commented that whilst we were away that I was noticeably slimmer than a month ago.

Quite busy at work so haven?t yet managed to read back over the thread, will do so when I get a few minutes to myself!

Emilythornesbff · 14/06/2013 09:48

Hi hazel welcome back. Hope you had a lovely hols.
Shock at "no puddings". I cannot imagine me doing that. I am super impressed. I'm already fantasising about baklava and turkish delight Grin.
Well done on WI. You've done brilliantly. And great to have comment from dh as added nsv.

WI: (day late, sorry) 8st 11. I am prepared for this to be false.
When i first stepped on the scales they read: 00:00 Grin now that's a diet!

Hazelbrowneyes · 14/06/2013 10:33

em congrats on WI! You've done brilliantly! Mmm, baklava...you can't beat it!

I kept saying to DH "ooh I must have churros today!" and then never got round to it! Unbelievable!

Today:
B - soft boiled egg & toast
L - not sure, potentially going out for lunch.
D - baked potato with beans

I'm definitely starting exercise this weekend. I'm contemplating trying 30 day shred...

50shadesofbrown · 14/06/2013 14:21

Hello Fellow Revolutionaries.

Still feel crap so not eating much, just checking in.

Hazel your holiday sounds lovely, walking on the sand is very good exercise don't you know!

Emily Fab news on the weigh in!

Well I made the sourdough bread. It's pretty nice actually. DH even had some - he's usually a 'white sliced' man, so for him to say that a homemade, rye & spelt sourdough loaf was tasty, was pretty good for the ego. I had a piece but the rest will be sliced & frozen until I feel like eating again. I don't want it going off in this heat.
In other news, I've signed up for an allotment. And apparently there is currently no waiting list! So I may get one soon. I have only got a small yard & grow a lot in pots & planters etc.

O&D FR

Hazelbrowneyes · 14/06/2013 15:38

Sorry to hear you're feeling crap 50 Sad hope you feel better soon. I need to follow your lead and make my own bread, sounds like it was a success! Fingers crossed you get your allotment soon! x

iheartshoes · 14/06/2013 18:34

em fab WI well done

Emilythornesbff · 14/06/2013 20:33

Thanks.

50 I hope you're feeling better soon.

Ok. Today's "menu" Blush

twinklestar2 · 14/06/2013 21:27
