Well done 50, fab result.

Another one here who recommends the shred DVD. It def tones you up, I used it before my wedding, I swear by it.

Today's menu

Oatso and SS milk
Falafel and salad in a wrap
Pie and veg
Fruit

Pleased with my menu today :)

Emilythornesbff · 10/06/2013 22:04

twinkle your menu looks fab.
Really love the sound of falafel in a wrap.

Must have yogurt or porridge for breakfast and eat healthily on my NFD
Repeat....

50shadesofbrown · 10/06/2013 23:07

Right I must start meal planning again. My appetite has plummeted in the last couple of days & I need to eat more (healthy stuff obviously) or I will end up on the 'back of the cupboards' diet. I've mostly been picking at random fridge bits. Hardly a balanced diet! So, tomorrow:
B porridge with honey
L oatcakes & smoked salmon, bit of salad
D cold roast chicken & salad.
E lots of pushing DD around town in pushchair, probably wearing ankle weights.
No snacks as frankly I'm struggling to get 3 meals a day in at present. Now I know why everyone in California is so skinny - it's the heat!

Had a productive day anyway, I FINALLY planted the beetroot seeds out. Hope they grow. I have an awful lot of vegetables out there, considering it's a yard. And my kitchen windowsill is likewise full. At least I can afford a little bit of organic veg - home grown! Very satisfying though.

Onwards and Downwards Fellow Revolutionaries!

SixPackWellies · 11/06/2013 08:10

Morning all.

menu today

2 coffees with milk
2 melba toasts with smoked mackerel
1/2 boiled egg
soup and bread
leftover roast chicken, salad and green beans

I am going for very small portions. I just eat loads and loads, so have dragged the old bread and butter plates out and am using those instead of dinner plates.

one hour walk today.

Well done 50 and wellies. Good planning. hope you're feeling better 50
And I like the tea plate idea.

NFD today.
Bf: Porridge (made with skim milk and cinnamon), skinny mocha, apple.
L: no idea. Probably nothing as no time.
D: spaghetti and meatballs (requested by DS)
S: maybe fruit.
Tips: drink water!
I managed about 50 mins in the gym last night. It was great.
But lack of sleep has made me tired and a bit irritable. Also, dh has scuppered my plans to do lots of alking today by asking a favour bang in the middle of the day Sad

O&DFR!

Bakingnovice · 11/06/2013 10:08

Nfd here too. Hoping to stick to low carb so planning on a huge green salad with cheese eggs and olives for dinner.

50 - how come you are struggling to eat???! Lucky you! Hope you are recovered from your bug.

SixPackWellies · 11/06/2013 10:12

Hi Baking what are cheese eggs? They sound yum!

OP posts:
Bakingnovice · 11/06/2013 10:16

Haha! Yes cheese eggs sounds great. But I meant cheese and eggs. Separately. Hope you are doing well.

SixPackWellies · 11/06/2013 10:25

Oh darn! I recall a recipe that my mother used to do that was like boiled eggs, in white sauce topped with cheese and then put under the grill, so thought it might be that!

Thanks, am fine. :) Am meant to be finishing a project, but am wasting time and MNetting and sitting around. Blush

I must come on here an confess to what I've eaten so far before it turns into a bad day!

Skinny latte, sausage in a roll

Falafel wrap for lunch with a couple of cornflake mini bites

Only leaves me with around 200 calls for dinner! Def have to run later!!

Emilythornesbff · 11/06/2013 15:43

Grin & "cheese eggs". Cheese omelette is one of my fave things. Sadly dh doesn't consider that a meal (phooey!)

twinkle that's not too bad. You inspired me with talk of falafel so I stuffed some with some spinach in a couple of pitta for lunch (I know, I was going to skip lunch but was soooo peckish). Trouble is, I topped it with some nando's sauce (hot) and needed half a (tesco version, not nice) mint magnum to cool down Blush
NB. Real mint magnums are a beautiful creation.

Oh, slightly OT. I remember eating plenty of almonds and bananas when ttc. Must have read that they were good for that. Sorry if that's a bit flippant or if I'm speaking out of turn.

twinklestar2 · 11/06/2013 19:53

Thx Emily, have tried everything re TTC!

Emilythornesbff · 11/06/2013 21:20

I wish you well with that twinkle
Many roads to that goal. It must be very difficult.

Emilythornesbff · 11/06/2013 21:22

Shit
Have stealth consumed bread and nutella while making DS's packed lunch
[shame]
So tired.

50shadesofbrown · 11/06/2013 23:12

Baking It's a combination of things. Migraine medication which I've recently had to go back on, affects my appetite a bit. Hot weather makes me not want to eat (except ice cream etc) Grin, also I've been worried about DH & his horrible stomach bug & hernia which have been stressing me out. It's horrible seeing him so uncomfortable all the time & can't even pick up DD without wincing.

However, DH had an interview today at the local college & has been offered a place on an 'access to higher education' course, fully funded! OMG! So he has to start deciding what university course he wants to do ASAP. We may even get some creche time funded as well - as DH currently full time SAHD & I work. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE all work out ok he really needs this.

Well I stuck to my meal plan today except I decided to have my 'free meal' ie whatever I want tonight, I had a piece of M&S pecan & toffee meringue roulade. Yummy.

Tomorrow I will probably just have leftover salad & chicken for lunch or tea, I made too much today.

50shadesofbrown · 11/06/2013 23:35

Just re-read that. I realised I didn't mention breakfast. I've no idea. Fed up of trying to think of interesting breakfast ideas (for some reason breakfast is the hardest). Once I've persuaded DD that I really don't want a banana/yoghurt face mask / shampoo, got me & her dressed etc, it just seems too much hassle & I just think I may as well wait until lunch.

Need cheap & easy ideas for breakfast please! I'm off wheat & sugar so that rules out pretty much all breakfast cereal. So far I've got - fruit. Porridge at a push but that's no good if it's got weather.

SixPackWellies · 12/06/2013 06:43

50 that is FNATASTIC news about your DH's university course! I am so thrilled for you! Very best of luck!!!

I am sticking to super small portions- but had a gin and tonic last night that turned into 3. oops. Never mind. Tonight we have friends coming around, so I am just making mezze so I can pick and choose and it not to be too obvious I am dieting. So there will be falafel balls, a variety of salads, dolmades, stuffed peppers, things like that. Yum. Also, there will be lots of cava but I am going to get some shloer (sp?) in and have that instead- it won't be obvious I am avoiding the cava I think!

Hope everyone has a good day. :)

Fab news on the uni course 50. Well done to your OH.

Yesterday's menu:

Sausage in a roll, latte

Falafel wrap

Two mini crispy cornflake bites

Spag Bol

5km run in less than half an hour! First time ever. V proud :)

Emilythornesbff · 12/06/2013 10:13

Great news 50 I hope that goes well for your dh.
I love breakfast. When it's hot I have fruit and yogurt or muesli.
Porridge is nice. In summer I just put cold milk or water on it, sometimes add fruit or cinnamon and shovel it in while making a buffet of choices for ds to eat / reject (perfect parenting going on here Grin)

twinkle please tell me where youget your falafel wrap? Or do you make it yourself? Very impressive run btw.

wellies isn't shloer full of sugar? Why not have the cava Envy ?

Bf: yogurt and muesli (yogurt full of sugar of course!), half slice of fruit toast and banana
L: no idea. Off out shopping. Might stop for a cuppa.
D: ?
E: walking a few miles with pram.
O&DFR.

Bakingnovice · 12/06/2013 10:15

Lots of good news!

Yay for smaller portions wellies.
Yay for new courses 50.
Yay for running a quick 5k twinkle
Yay for continuing with your fasts Emily.

It's fast day for me. Lots of water and then something to eat around 5. Have homemade flapjacks and carrot cake lying around so need to swerve those!

Bakingnovice · 12/06/2013 10:17

Twinkle does running help you lose weight? I want to start but every time I run I end up staying the same weight wise. Am inspired by your running. Emily, I love fruit and Greek yoghurt too.

SixPackWellies · 12/06/2013 12:10

Because I can never have just one glass of cava Emily! It always turns into several. I do not like shloer much, so it will keep me on track!

Mmmm.... fruit and greek yogurt with a drizzle of honey. So simple, yet so luxurious.

OP posts:
twinklestar2 · 12/06/2013 15:01

Emily - I buy the falafels, wraps and salad leaves from M&S and make it myself with lots of chilli sauce :D

Baking - I feel like the running has def helped. Try it!

Emilythornesbff · 12/06/2013 16:32

wellis well, that explains it. Very good point.

Good fasting baking I have mine tomorrow.

twinkle thanks. I'll be making those. Yummy.
