That is bloody brilliant! I have tried to do the fasting days but its so hard!

SixPackWellies · 15/06/2013 07:41

That is brilliant Em!

Thanks guys Blush
That was mainly post baby weight though. I weighed myself at 9 weeks post c section so I might have lost some anyway.

twinkle I found it very hard to start with and thought I wouldn't get on with it. But now it's much easier. It still requires some effort but it's just for one day at a time, twice a week.
I'm so impressed with your running. A one day fast requires a similar mental effort to a run I think.
Some parts of the day it's easy, not noticeable. But others it's like that extra push to run an incline or not to walk the last 200m IYSWIM.
But it must be easier. Because I haven't managed a proper run in about 3.5 years.

Hazelbrowneyes · 15/06/2013 10:15

Morning!

Yesterdays diet totally went out the window! Whoops!

B ? soft boiled egg, toast
L ? 3(!!) fishcakes with salad drizzled in sweet chilli sauce and a side of fries
D ? leftover curry with rice
S ? S&V crisps, cheese on toast, cava, 2 x G&T, 1 glass of red. Whoops.

No idea what is on today?s menu as we have barely any food in the house, but neither of us can be bothered to go shopping Grin We were given a load of salad last night by friends who go on holiday today so maybe jacket spud and salad? Doesn?t feel special enough though, seeing as we?re both pretending to still be on holiday?

I'm determined to get back on track on Monday and I find lunches are my downfall as I get so bored eating the same thing all the time! I've spent the morning looking through BBC good food website to get some ideas for low fat but yummy lunches. Am now v. hungry!

SixPackWellies · 16/06/2013 13:45

Hello!

Well, my diet went out the window too really. We had self-invited unexpected guests for the weekend, and I cooked a storm for them.

am about to start an AIBU asking 'AIBU to wonder when my guests will go home?'

They have gone to the pub for lunch, and we were assuming they were leaving sometime today, but they are not back yet, and certainly would not be driving if they are drinking. They have form..... last year they came for an overnighter and stayed 3 nights. Am getting anxious.....

Have soup and omelette if it is just us tonight, and a roasting chicken sitting and waiting if it is them too.

I was ok yesterday! Food wasn't the greatest of choices but I stayed with cals and I did a 6km run so pleased about that.

Emilythornesbff · 16/06/2013 20:40

Grin wellies. so, was it omlette or roast chicken? Grin

twinke you are a star with your running. so impressive.

i am off on hols any minute. planning to fast tomorrow. will report on return.

O&D FR

twinklestar2 · 16/06/2013 20:44

I've gone over today as I didn't make the right choices! Even though I didn't eat much. Goes to show that 1200 cals doesn't go very far!

SixPackWellies · 16/06/2013 20:48

It was neither Em!

they came back from the pub at a bit before 5, then ran screaming off about 30 minutes later to avoid the traffic. And DH and I were knackered and I fed the DCs and the animals and we opened a bottle, and then could not be arsed to eat. Plus, DC3 cracked me on the mouth with his iron head and I have a bleeding mouth and a loose tooth and am about to snuggle in front of the tv to The White Queen.

They have asked if they can stay for a week at the end of July. Have wedding in the area and thought it would be nice to catch up properly.

[sigh. moves DCs out of their room again and into ours].

I'm not great with guests, I have to admit.

Hello lovely revs. Well two nfd for me and I've not been good. Two weddings back to back. And I had no loss this week. I could feel the pounds about to drop, had three really good fasts... And then...... And then that bitch Aunt Flo arrived. Meant no loss so I'm resigned to losing 1lb every bloody fortnight. However, I did start c25k running this week and have done two days of it. Really proud as I've wanted to get back to running for years and not done. So I shred and do c25k nowso that is a massive mental boost for me.

Emily - you are really inspirational.

Twinkle - can you give me running tips? So far it's been really easy. Do you think it'll help me drop pounds?

Helen - cannot believe you gained nothing whilst away. Well done!

50 - hope you are over your bug. And we'll done on your loss.

Wellies - boo to overstayers. I would be in years by now!

Let's hope this week brings more losses and positives for us all. Help me stay positive revs.

Bakingnovice · 16/06/2013 22:02

Tears not years!!

twinklestar2 · 16/06/2013 22:56

Baking - the couch to 5k is the one I used. Stick with it and you'll be running for half hour non stop very soon. I'm aiming for an hour run on Tuesday evening, first one ever!

It will help you drop pounds as long as you don't eat the extra cals!

iheartshoes · 17/06/2013 06:58

Morning all , fasting for me today after far to

iheartshoes · 17/06/2013 07:00

Whoops, far to much wine and chocolate this weekend. Had a couple of bad nights with DD so massively overset to over compensate plus I'm all snotty n bleurgh :(

iheartshoes · 17/06/2013 07:01

Overate even !

Hazelbrowneyes · 17/06/2013 09:07

Morning all!

Enjoy your holiday Em

Twinkle, I always go over when I try to stick at 1200 cals too. I?ve changed my daily limit to 1400 and find it much easier. When I actually bother to use MFP that is!!

Wellies Poor you, guests that don?t know when to go home are a pain in the backside. Ouch to your mouth & tooth! Big hugs x

Baking Well done for running! I really need to get back in to it. You know, I think the way you?re losing weight is a good one ? you?re having steady losses over time and that?s always the best way to go to avoid putting it back on. Stay positive chick, you?re doing really well x

iheart being snotty and bleurgh always makes me over-eat too. Fasting whilst feeling a bit pants? I bow down to you!

I surprised myself this weekend ? not with food but with wine. I had 1 glass of fizz on Saturday night then went back on to water and yesterday I had a glass of wine with lunch (125ml) and 2 glasses of fizz in the evening.

Food wasn?t great:

Saturday:
B ? none
L ? Tuna and cucumber sandwich
D ? baked potato with butter, cheese and beans
S ? cheese and biscuits Grin

Sunday:
B ? poached egg with mushrooms
L/D ? 3 small garlic potatoes, selection of cured meats, potato salad, bread roll, salad, stilton
S ? olives and feta, malteser traybake Grin, 3 squares of lindt dark chocolate with sea salt (OMG, amazing!)

I?ve looked at what to do now to kickstart my healthy eating again ? I think I?m going to go back to just calorie counting and watching what I eat. I considered slimming world but I?m not sure I completely understand how it works! The one thing I am going to do is exercise. I know I keep saying it!!

I?m aiming to do 30 days straight of exercise ? like the shred but mixing it up a bit. I?ll have a look at the shred but I?m thinking of doing some of that mixed in with Davina, using the cross trainer, xbox, weights and crunches.

O&D FR!

SixPackWellies · 17/06/2013 10:45

Morning all.

Thanks for kind words everyone. Thanks I have a sore jaw and neck and bruising and a terrible headache. Poor DC really got me hard! He;s fine, thank heavens..... I thought the top of his head might be bruised from hitting my jaw, but seems okay.

I found these guests hard going really. But am trying to encourage myself to adopt a more zen-like attitude about it all. We are so lucky to live in a lovely area, so we seem to have a revolving door of self-invitees over the summer. Pre-DCs I loved it, but now I just want to get on with my boring little life and my regular routines and to not have to cook and make beds! So they have not changed, I have. sigh.

The advantage of having such a sore mouth today is that I can hardly swallow, let alone eat! Result!

DH is working at home today so I am cooking the roast chicken for lunch. :) Might even have a glass of wine.... pain reliever doncha know??!!

Bakingnovice · 17/06/2013 12:12

Wellies you poor thing! Hope your jaw heals quickly. Roast chicken mmmmmmm.

I heart - get well soon to you too. Fast day here too. Have filled up on water after doing shred and will eat at 4pm with the kids.

Hazel I just love your menus. Yum yum. Thanks for the encouragement re running. Slow losses are good but they really affect my motivation. Impressed with your reduced alcohol intake!

iheartshoes · 17/06/2013 14:02

How are all you fasting ladies doing ? I treated myself to some clothes today and was v pleased that I could get into a size 10! Debenhams so fairly generous sizing but still makes me feel good ! So far today I've had :
A couple of coffees with dash of skimmed milk
One scrambled egg with a slice of ham
One diet coke.
Need to drink more water and resist the dairy milk in the fridge ! What is everyone having for tea tonight ? I need inspiration !

Bakingnovice · 17/06/2013 15:16

I am terrible on fast days. I don't trust myself to eat the same as the kids so I tend to have scrambled eggs with a cuppa. Or some curried cabbage/broccoli. I've been bad today and had a big bite of bounty and milky tea. But have a headache brewing and feel so cold. Needed a little lift.

Morning all.
Thanks, feeling better today. Bed early, and up at 5 am ffs!
So sorry to hear of your IBS, 50 that sounds very painful indeed. What do you have to overcome this? is it types of food, medication? But good news that you are over the big, you poor thing.

I admire all you fasting ladies, very much.

Me today- busy day. Continue to eat small amounts. Lots of veg soup, ryvitas. Dinner to be determined. No-calorie drinks all day.

Merhaba. FRs.
Blimey wellies that must've been some crack on the jaw. Ouch!
When i first read your earlier post i thought you said your friends had asked to stay ^until^ the end of july [faints].

50 so pleased you're feeling better and super well done getting dd to sleep in her cot. That's brilliant. And wel done on your weight loss.

iheart wonderful. Great to get in that size 10.

baking stalling is ok. Fwiw when i did a 4:3 i didn't lose. I massively over ate on my nfds.

hazel i feel hungry looking at your menus.

It's hot here. I did a mini fast yesterday so nothing to ear until the evening and then a normal meal. Not sure how to manage the rest of the week.
Gt to dash.

twinkle seriously impressive running.

SixPackWellies · 18/06/2013 05:33

I feel like it may as well be the end of July Emily! They were on their way out the door and asked if they could stay 13th/14th July, and DH said a sort of non-committal murmer of agreement, then the DWife said 'Oh actually, we'll come on the 9th and make a nice long week of it.' Then they dashed off. We were left gaping a bit. They did not ask if it was okay, and DH is likely to be overseas for work that week. They are his friends, and tbh I do not really like them all that much, as they tend to eat/drink us out of house and home when they are here. And we have been blindsided like this before. So, we need to have a think and work out how to -grow a fucking backbone-- and tell them that it is NOT convenient.

We live in an area that is quite touristy, so having people land on us is not an unknown occurrence. What pisses me off is that you never hear from them any other time of the year.
