Stop Bingeing and Start Eating Healthily Thread

Would anyone like to join me? I am a yo yo dieter, a failed WW (could not bear the small portions) failed SW (went wild on Free foods) and I eat too much of the wrong sorts of food. I binge then starve and I want to get out of that cycle. I also enjoy my evening 3 glass of wine a little too much! I feel bloated, pasty, tired and I hate how I look in the mirror. I am about to hit 40, and I refuse to spend any more time hating myself. I want to deal with my psychological food issues, and I want to finally be the woman I am meant to be.

I am 5 ft 2 and weigh 11 stone 3.

My aim- to increase fruit and veg. To cut out wheat as I bloat very badly on wheat. To take as much care over my own diet as I do over the diets of my children and my husband. To not treat my body like a rubbish bin.

As of this morning. I am tired. My skin is pale and blotchy. I am very bloated in the stomach. I am aiming to lose 24 pounds, but want to do it properly and without feeling deprived. I want to make this process luxurious, with a focus on gorgeous healthy food.

Today's plan:

Breakfast - fruit and natural yoghurt with a drizzle of honey.

Lunch - home made carrot and coriander soup.

Dinner - fresh veg risotto.

I need ideas for delicious alcohol-free drinks. Currently I love a splash of grapefruit juice and soda water.

Anyone want to join me? The focus is on good food, and to deal with the psychological issues around bingeing and self hatred. I am not a psychologist, just someone who needs- and can offer support!

Weigh in days will be Mondays and Thursdays.

Good morning again! [I like the sound of esteemed leader!]

Hazel you sound really strong and empowered today. Good For You.

Yeah twinkle!

I feel pretty good today too and strong, although yesterday went to pot a bit. But I feel positive.

Have had crackers and sliced toms for breakfast. DH is working from home today and suggested we go out for lunch. I plan to have a prawn salad or something like that. Dinner tonight is baked chicken breasts with bbq sauce, peas and broccoli.

Twinkle well done. I want to start running but scared I won't be able to. Still doing my shred DVD 3 times a week.

Hope you are less stressed hazel.

Everyone seems to be doing well. I've lost 1lb this week. At least it's a loss. I'm weighing a day early as we have an early start as we are off to the beach tomorrow. Hope it stops raining. Will be eating fish and chips on the beach but will try and walk some if it off.

What's everyone up to this weekend??

fish and chips on the beach!!!!! Yum. Have a lovely time, Baking

Based on twinkle I might be tempted to start running too!

No plans this weekend. Have admin to catch up on. Am trying to get a freelance career off the ground, and need to clean the house. :)

I have found that taking on the 5:2 fast Diet way of life I deal with hunger pangs and cravings much more easily now. I see it as a way of strengthening your resolve whilst at the same time still being able to enjoy 'normal', healthy food (not special 'diet' food) on my non-fasting days. On fasting days I'm focused on getting through the short period of time until I eat my 600 calorie dinner, and on non-fasting days I don't worry about having a drink or little treat now and again. Lots of interesting articles and support on //www.fasting-forward.com

Short post as site buggered! Done pretty well the last couple of days, lots of salad, only a few naughty treats. Ankle weights at all times while out of the house. Realised I no longer look like I've obviously had a baby. Still not weighed myself, yay! Congratulations to all who are doing well & hugs to anyone who is struggling.

Morning Grin

Ok, I?m not grinning really. I?m hungover. Woe.

Yesterday:

B ? croissant
L ? tomato and herb mugshot
D ? wild mushroom and cheese croquettes in a tomato and basil sauce followed by belly pork with bubble and squeak
S ? half a bag of quavers. Tea, water, wine (red and white) and gin. No wonder I feel grim.

Didn?t eat much of my main course, it was huge and that always puts me off.

I got on the scales this morning. I got a bit of a shock. So much of a shock I had to get on them 3 more times just to be sure.

8st 12lbs. Shock

No idea how I?ve managed to lose weight this week. I guess stress does that.

I?m now not getting on the scales until Tuesday. I am cherishing the 8st 12lbs Grin

Have a lovely bank holiday all xxx

Hi hazel hope your hangover is better now.
Emily that breakfast sounds luxurious but also pretty healthy. Yummy!

I've decided that in in the name of good MH & not getting obsessed with calories etc I am trying a new approach. Saw a book in Morrisons that reckons that it's not fat but sugar & additives that are the enemy. So I am trying it out for a few days. If I lose some weight on it, I'll carry on. If not, it's not a massive problem. It's this one below, can't do a fancy link as am on my phone & the tech guys have STILL not fixed the site issues!
