Hi all, I joined slimmig world yesterday as I finally ready and motivated to get this weight off. Anyone else? Is there a support thread for those following slimming world? As I couldn't see one on here. If not anyone interested in helping to support each other here?

Let us know how you get on tomorrow Lollipop?

Made the SW tagliatelle with ribbon veg for dinner tonight which was really good (was in the new SW magazine).

Rest of the day was pretty much ok...

B - Fruit and yogurt
L- Leftover pasta with tuna
Snacks - lots of fruit and a couple of Alpen Light bars; syns saved for hot chocolate later
D - Tagliatelle and veg

Have promised to take DS out for lunch tomorrow, does anyone know where to start with syns at Yo Sushi??

iklboo · 19/02/2013 20:08

We've found doing a takeaway style SW meal on a Friday helps too. The egg fried rice, one of the curries etc. Makes you feel like you're having a treat at the end of the week.

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/02/2013 21:31

thanks laughalot

i do make the chicken with phili wrapped in bacon

had ww sausages today with sw sweet potato chips and bloody lush - 1/2syn each

the cheesey tuna pasta melt thingy - what is this and is it syned or is the cheese healthy a

Evening all! Lovely day here - been out of the office for most of the day, wandering around in the sun - lots of exercise and little food (well only that which was taken with me)

beanandspud - I will be looking at what you are eating to see if I can find some new ideas - food diary at the ready!

blondes - I have checked back and I have lost 2lb since Christmas!! Class tortoise is me. I have been known to sneak food into these places!! Rebels we are!

badroly - yes I know that 'ahfuckit' mode well - it is at this point that I usually give up and put back on what I have lost. However, I will not give in even if only lose 0.5lb a week from now until whenever - that is still nearly 2 stones in a year.

kissmygrits - same here - Whinfell! We love it there - staying in Fell View I think. You wont miss me - the blob with a ginger haird boy and a long blond slim daughter! a stone and half was my aim at mid January, so maybe we need to egg each other on! Otherwise we will be hiding in the corner!!

lollipop - welcome - yes, beans is correct - lots of fresh home cooked food and you wont go far wrong. Just bob on here when you can and we can motivate each other!

me - well done on the 9lbs - sure that must nearly be a dress size? I too am losing inches or maybe my clothes are stretching!!

laughalot - you are doing brilliantly!!

Well bed for me now - tired robbo here! Too much fresh air!!

Blondeshavemorefun · 19/02/2013 22:35

pmsl at clothes stretching - im hoping we are shrinking

LollipopViolet · 20/02/2013 09:24

Two hours to go, I'm actually looking forward to this now :) Scared what the scales will say though!

laughalot · 20/02/2013 10:18

Blondes

It serves 4 so you may want to do half. And I do not put the quark in yuk !!!!
380g pasta shells
8 spring onions finely sliced
3 courgettes coarsley grated
200g frozen sweetcorn
250g pot of quark
100g fat free natural fromage frais
2 teasp dill - again I do not use
400g tuna in spring water drained
120g cheddar - free if using it as a (a) or 6 syns if not
salt and pepper to season

Boil pasta as per instructions adding the courgettes, spring onion and sweetcorn halfway through. Once boiled drain well and add quark, fromage frais dill, tuna and half the cheese to the pasta mix stir and season well. Tranfer to a dish sprinkle over the remaining cheese and grill for 8/10 minutes until cheese is melted and lightly browned !!!!!

YUM YUM YUM

LollipopViolet · 20/02/2013 12:53

I'm back :)

Loved it, it was a tiny group, only 2 of us stayed today with it being half term, but I love the consultant lady, and I'm going to go to the evening group after college - she even said not to worry if buses mess me about, she can just weigh me when I get there :)

Just doing a shopping list as mum is going to Tesco and I'm going to get some staples in :)

iklboo · 20/02/2013 14:58

Glad you enjoyed it Lollipop!

Me23 · 20/02/2013 15:03

I've not been too good this week. Nt been very bad but feel bloated. My jeans keep falling down! So hoping I may be nearing the next dress size. laugh you didn't really mean 120g of cheddar did you? Only 30g is a healthy extra. I'm sure was probably a typo and you know this but for benefit of anyone else who may overdose on all that yummy cheese boy I wish 120g was a healthy extra Smile
I'm working a night shift tonight my first in a while. I'm going to eat dinner before I go and being leftovers and fruit as a snack on my break if I get one hopefully it's not manic busy.

KissMyGrits · 20/02/2013 15:22

androb I'll be the one running around screaming at two little blonde kids! Although the Tuesday is my birthday so I'll be relaxed because I'm going for a massage all by myself, can't wait! I think we're in Fell View as well.

I lost 1.5lbs this week, I'm a little disappointed although like I said in my previous post I'm no that surprised.

Well done lollipop it's a really easy plan to stick, you can have most normal family meals cooked without fat, it's just a case of avoiding too many bread and dairy products and cutting down on snacks. Good luck!

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/02/2013 15:58

lollipop - glad you enjoyed meeting

laughalot - thanks for recipe, i can never find fat free fromage frais

i may make with cheese sauce mix and use 2 syns per portion

went to tobys carvery today - trying to work out syns for large yorkies, cauliflower cheese and veg (that prob had butter in it)

laughalot · 20/02/2013 16:10

Blondes fat free fromage frais morrisons Grin

Me it does say add 6 syns if not using the cheddar as a healthy extra I bet it is because the dish serves four people so if you split that cheese down between 4 people it is 30 Grin

LollipopViolet · 20/02/2013 18:04

Well, I had tomato soup for lunch - 9 syns! Really?! Well, at least I know now haha!

Got chicken and salad for dinner tonight, but will leave the coleslaw as it'll take me over syns because of the stupid soup haha!

I am feeling hungry, but think that's because I normally have 2 slices of white bread with soup, and because I'd had cereal this morning, I didn't. Had an orange earlier which tided me over, but very much ready for dinner.

Need to find a nice recipe for tomorrow's dinner I think :)

Blondeshavemorefun · 20/02/2013 22:46

9 syns for tomato soup?????

Omfg!!!

beanandspud · 20/02/2013 23:00

Well done Lollipop, glad you enjoyed the group and you're now over the first hurdle of getting started.

If you google 'Slimming World soup recipes' you should find lots of free/nearly free options. I bought one of the Heinz 'squeeze and stir' tomato soup sachets the other week thinking it would be ideal for work, when I googled the syns it had seven syns per innocent looking tube. I was Shock and donated it to DH

Well done on the losses and the falling-down jeans Me and Kissmygrits Grin

Had another good day. Took DS for lunch at Yo Sushi and ate well for not too many syns - it was nice to eat out and have a proper meal.

B - All Bran, milk and banana (heA and heB)
L - Yo Sushi (about 8 syns according to various websites)
D - SW Paella and seafood
Snacks - lots of fruit, muller yogurt, hot chocolate (2 syns)

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/02/2013 00:35

I lovemaking bns or parsnip soup

Basically chop veg and simmer in pint stock

Quick and easy and yummy

You can make own version of tomato soup

Heinz baked beans
Tin Tom
Tin of chopped carrots
Stock

And some say pickled onion - blitz and heat - have made and yes yummy

KissMyGrits · 21/02/2013 07:34

blondes yum, will be giving that a go!

LollipopViolet · 21/02/2013 13:05

Well, today my mum is making her (lovely) spaghetti bolognese. Annoyingly, she uses a Dolmio sauce jar and they're stupid amounts of syns, so today will have to be basically syn free.

B - Erm, I sort of slept VERY late and missed it! Must try harder with that.
L - 2 boiled eggs with some salad
D - Homemade bolognese - made with lean mince, mushrooms and this jar of sauce, plus pasta.

HExA will be some cheese on my bolognese tonight, and HExB will be a Special K bar later (I've checked, the ones we've got in are on the list, woohoo!)

Need to get some of the free Muller Light yoghurts, and make sure there's always fruit in. Tomorrow I'll be out at lunchtime, first big challenge for me - can I stick to the plan?

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/02/2013 13:50

dolmio is 12.5 for a 500g jar -so if makes 4, normally does, then just over 3 syns, so dont despair

b egg on toast (b) ketchup 1 banana
l sweet potato jacket, tuna mayo 3 blueberries
t spag bol with lots of veg

crisps 4

dreaded WI tomorrow, hoping for a lb off, have been within my syns this week .......

Blondeshavemorefun · 21/02/2013 13:50

lollipop, mince needs to be extra lean or not free

laughalot · 21/02/2013 13:52

Angry Angry just made some fairy cakes with my little Lauren and ate half the fairy cake mix im so angry with myself !!!!!

LollipopViolet · 21/02/2013 14:01

Blondes we get the extra lean stuff anyway, so I'm safe :) We get 5 servings out of a jar of Dolmio so phew, not too bad.

I also found out a friend goes to the same group as me, so might bump into her next week when I switch to evening group. She's doing very well on SW, so I'm hoping I'll be able to shed some weight in time for her wedding next month.

Still deciding on lunch tomorrow, there's a fruit and veg shop in the town where I'm going ice skating, I might just fill up on fruit and then wait til dinner time when I'll be at home Grin

Me23 · 21/02/2013 15:46

laugh doh! Yes of course if serving 4 then fine. Weigh in in 1.5 hours hope I haven't done too much damage this week been quit naughty must be good this week. Not sure if I'll stay to group tonight feel like a zombie after my nightshift.

iklboo · 21/02/2013 18:14

Spooky. We had spag bol tonight. We (well, I) use a tin of chopped tomatoes & a couple of tablespoons of Doritos salsa (1/2 a syn per tablespoon). Makes it taste more like the Dolmio jars.
