Hi all, I joined slimmig world yesterday as I finally ready and motivated to get this weight off. Anyone else? Is there a support thread for those following slimming world? As I couldn't see one on here. If not anyone interested in helping to support each other here?

obrigada - i would have added some chopped veg into sauce like peppers/courgette/baby corn etc or yes have some fruit

tbh your pasta sauce sounds the same as mine when i make it

or i use batchelors pasta and sauce

chicken and mushroom, tomato and onion, cheese and brocolli free
cheese leek and ham 1
macorni cheese 1.5

all made without butter or milk

obrigada · 07/02/2013 15:56

Thanks Blonde, will add some peppers; sweetcorn ok to add? Really need to finally get my head round this way of eating

I finally went back to SW this week after a 9 month break (and a massive weight gain). 3 stone to lose this time.

I have been on SW for at least 5 of the last 10 years and love it because when I stick to it - it works.

I am a bit gutted to see though that the whole SW machine seems to have shifted over to EE and there is not that much info and new recipes out there (or at least as easily accessable as it once was) for those that want to do red or green days.

I do do the EE plan from time to time but miss my 2 HE A and B choices which I rely on heavily. I have always found I have a greater loss on red then green and EE comes in last for me.

I do have loads of old recipes etc but as things change and get tweeked on the plan its a real shame they dont promote the Red and Green plans as much anymore.

I am having problems with the website finding a list of original and Green day recipes - you always used to be able to find them - but it seems not anymore - unless I am being dumb and someone here can tell me otherwise. Looks like I will have to tweak the EE to suit which ever day I am on, but it seems a shame all plans are not given the same support.

Any other old timers finding the same or is it just me?

ninjanurse · 07/02/2013 16:33

Soggysummer - I have only done SW since they have had extra easy, and I do find it, errr, well easy! But I have been tending to low carb my eating as well - is that the same as a red or green day? I dont think I will ever get skinny eating unlimited pasta and spuds!!

obrigada · 07/02/2013 16:54

Oh don't say that Ninja, love pasta and spuds!!

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 07/02/2013 18:21

Soggy - most of the recipes in the receipe section online seem to be for all plans as they have the syns noted for Original, Green & Extra Easy. Maybe have a glance through them if you haven't already? For example, the goulash I'm having tonight is shown as free on EE, free on Original but 8.5 syns on Green (also has a note to say add 6 syns if not using the meat as HE on Green).

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/02/2013 19:06

i do tend to eat carbs and protein with each meal

b fruit
l bubble and squeak
t salmon and rice and veg

brown roll b with cheese a and raw salmon

see ive had my a nd b today :)

WI tom, i know i wont have lost and prob gained and i will take it on the chin, so to speak after my terrible weekend of wine, cheese, white bread and choclate

beanandspud · 07/02/2013 20:23

Team SW loss this week is another 28lb - well done to all of the losers on this thread GrinGrinGrin.

That gives us a total loss of 112.5lb so far - that's just over 8 stone or the equivalent of a fairly small person!

laughalot · 07/02/2013 20:36

soggy the slimming world magazine this month has a few good receipes in and it gives you syn values for ee, red and green days.

iklboo · 07/02/2013 20:45

Can I please sign in? Been doing SW for 3 weeks & lost 10lb so far. Long way to go but really enjoying it.

fruitpastilles · 07/02/2013 20:46

Gutted! Put a pound on this week, I watched as dp had KFC Friday, fish and chips Saturday and a Chinese Sunday and not a morsel passed my lips an still I put on!!! What's that all about? Oh well 1 week blip, straight back to it and fingers crossed for double loss next week lol!
Total loss to date - 29.5 lb since last jan and had dd in between so not to bad I suppose!

fruitpastilles · 07/02/2013 20:47

Wow, 10lb in 3 weeks iklboo well done! I only tend to lose a pound a week, but I'm happy with that Grin

iklboo · 07/02/2013 20:48

Obrigada - there's a lovely carbonara recipe on the website. Really easy & syn free if you don't have the Parmesan.

iklboo · 07/02/2013 20:49

Thank you! I've got about 5 stone to lose though so I think this might just be the 'first weeks flush'. Smile

StressDaily · 07/02/2013 20:53

Soggy - there is a Meal plan online for a red/green week. It's under Recipes and Menus - sample menu.

Blondeshavemorefun · 07/02/2013 20:56

Welcome ickiboo / fab loss

Fruit - not fair you sts if been good. Bad hubby for eating that infront of you !!!!

fruitpastilles · 07/02/2013 21:02

I know blondes, he's lucky he can eat what he wants, he's not normally that bad of a weekend, he only normally has 1 treat that I have to endure lol

androbbob · 07/02/2013 22:06

Evening! Another 1lb a weeker here! Some good weightlosses on here though - just shows we are all different.

Had a busy day today - out and about in work, so lots of walking, didnt get lunch until 2pm and then movie night at school, so selling popcorn and sweets to the kiddies before the fil. Not a big fan of sweet popcorn, so didnt have any of that! Didnt get my tea until 9.15pm, so only had a small tea. All in all a sucessful SW day!

Just got to be good for another 3 days before WI - weekends are not too difficult in this house, so hoping for a 2 to 3lb loss on Monday - 2.5 would give me my stone award, so aiming for that!

SoggySummer · 07/02/2013 22:38

Thank you those of you who have pointed me in the right direction I will toddle off and have a good look.

ninjanurse - I do get that EE is easy but I am used to the old plan and know what works well for me with my lifestyle and I like the extra HE choices more than protein and carbs on the same plate. Mad and bizarre as it sounds I lost just under 6 stone in 12 months (to a size 12) following the red and green plans a few years back and I did do ALOT of carbs.

KissMyGrits · 08/02/2013 06:52

Hello! I've followed this thread from the beginning and feel its about time I joined in and stopped stalking you all!
I've been doing slimming world for 5 weeks and I've lost 15lbs so far, got about 30 to go. Aiming for the end of May but I realise that may be slightly ambitious.
My loss so far does include a weekend of food and drink overload so I'm quite pleased with that.
My issues are not managing to eat my healthy extras and somedays not eating enough superfree. Also I'm finding it difficult to eat enough syns, some days I don't have any and most days I only have max 3, then about once a week I have 15. Is that ok? I'm finding the diet really easy this way but I don't want to make myself ill or give up!
Well done on all the weight lost so far, you're all doing great!

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/02/2013 08:22

kiss welcome and well done on loss :) tbh I struggle to eat my a and b tho the salmon and cheese roll yesterday was yummy :)

I would say eat more syns as then when weight loss slows down you can drop to 5/10 a day

I use my syns mainly on salad cream - Heinz obviously - crisps and gin :)

fruit so unfair isn't it. Oh eats some of the meals with me - really liked my chilli prawn linguini and lasagne with cheese sauce not quark lol - and shepherds pie - then he eats crisps chocolate cakes ice cream the odd beer and he is losing weight Envy

Blondeshavemorefun · 08/02/2013 08:24

I am amazed to say that I sts :)

Very happy with this as was so bad at my friends last weekend / but I have had think 1 or 2 syns a day for past 5 days to counterbalance the 250 or so I ate and drank :)

B fruit
L carbonara - so yummy
T Chinese - prob about 25/30 syns but I use 105 a week rather then 15 a day x

beanandspud · 08/02/2013 09:06

3lb off Grin wahay!!!

fruitpastilles · 08/02/2013 11:37

Wondering what to have for lunch? Might just have ham salad.
Having double bacon cheeseburgers for dinner with spicy wedges and salad, very much looking forward to that!

Sunflower101 · 08/02/2013 13:43

Lots of fab losses on here. Well done everyone. I had my WI last night, lost 3.5 lb. woo hoo! That's 8.5lb in two weeks , was slimmer of week and had 1/2 stone certificate as well. I think it helps that I really feel motivated this time to lose weight to then fit back into my pre pregnancy clothes, was pregnant this time last year and had baby in sept. DH is also losing weight with me on this diet although not going to SW with me. He's also lost about 8lb so he is well pleased.
