Hi all, I joined slimmig world yesterday as I finally ready and motivated to get this weight off. Anyone else? Is there a support thread for those following slimming world? As I couldn't see one on here. If not anyone interested in helping to support each other here?

Just been back through this thread (whilst watching the Bake Off Smile) and so far we have lost 56lb between us... that's FOUR STONE!!!

Great result - let's keep going Grin

noyouhavehadawee · 23/01/2013 20:57

yeah your right a lovely average Grin i am now having a massive southern comfort and fresh orange and some ryvita with low low cheese then tomorrow i am back on it!

littlemefi · 23/01/2013 21:32

Had quite a good food day today though came home from work, 12 and a half hr shift, to find DH had cooked dinner of pasta and pesto, no veg, and, luckily, low fat grilled sausages!
So that's used up the syns I would have been able to have for chocolate! Should I leave the bastard??!!
And I've been doing SW on/ off for ages, arrghh, you think he'd know by now!

Imnotaslimjim · 24/01/2013 10:02

Just a little bit of advice for you all - don't try the magic pancakes they're vile :( was really looking forward to them as well!

SalaciousCrumb · 24/01/2013 10:21

HI all, well done to everyone who's lost some weight Smile

I sts last week but I am hoping for a loss this week, wi on Saturday.

slimjim what was vile about the magic pancakes? Tis pancake day coming up soon!

SalaciousCrumb · 24/01/2013 10:21

My jeans feel more comfortable so I think will be good news this week!

TurkeyDino · 24/01/2013 10:28

Hi hope you don't mind me joining in!

Re-joined slimming world 2 weeks ago having put on all of the 5 stone I lost previously Angry

3rd weigh in tonight and hoping for 2.5lb off as that will give me my first stone off! I have another 9 to go but gotta start somewhere Smile

Finding it reasonably easy at the moment but I know that my danger time is when I start getting compliments for losing weight and I think I can get away with eating crap again.

Anyway, good luck to anyone else weighing in this week!

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/01/2013 11:26

WI tomorrow, hoping for another lb - as i said blondes is a tortoise

smellylittleorange · 24/01/2013 13:54

Slow and steady wins the race blondes when I lose small amounts I just keep on telling myself that it all adds up and its the average over the length of time that matters - I previously worked out that through Yo yo dieting and lots of big losses over a period of a year I managed to stay the same weight! I was ecstatic at teh time at losing 6 lbs a week etc but then fall off the wagon dramatically and put back on loads! I would have been better off just losing 1/2 to 1lb aweek clearly Grin .

Welcome Turkey a few off us starting back again nice to see this thread on thw front page lots of support here.

beans wow four stone we are truly AMAZEBALLS!

Imnotaslimjim · 24/01/2013 14:49

The pancakes, turns out I was supposed to add sweetener and I didn't so they just tasted like vanilla omelettes lol. Gonna try again and let you all know tomorrow!

Beans I was thinking of doing that today (as its something they do at the meetings) but hadn't got round to it yet! 4 stone is amazing. does anyone know how many of us there is now?

blondes well done on your planning, and good luck for tomorrow, got my fingers crossed for you

Turkey welcome, and good luck. I know what you mean about feeling like you can relax when people notice you're losing. I've managed to turn it to my advantage now though, and think about how happy they'll be for me when I've lost another 6 stone

TurkeyDino · 24/01/2013 17:14

Bah only half a pound. Bought a food directory so I stop making up the syns for things.....

Still a loss is a loss and I'm heading the right way.

These pancakes sound good, how do you make them?

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/01/2013 18:39

Turkey again it's a loss and 1/2lb a week is 2stone a year

1lb is 4stone a year

Magic pancakes

35g porridge HEB
diet youghurt 0% fat or mullier light
3eggs

add oats to youghurt, mix with 3 eggs, spoon into pan and fry on pan wit frilite.i they were gorgeous and the only syns was the honey if you want a drizzle on them 1 syn

some people soak oats in yoghurt overnite,i don't and they were still fab.

made and ate in 10 mins and they were DELISH :-)

beanandspud · 24/01/2013 19:18

Well done Turkey, it's still a pound and we're all chanting 'slow and steady...slow and steady...' and trying to remember that it's the right way to go!

I've had a bad case of the munchies today, don't know why but fruit just isn't hitting the spot.

B- All Bran (heB), skimmed milk and banana
Snack - tangerines, two baby bels (heA) and an Alpen bar
L - Massive bowl of veg soup with a muller yogurt and an apple
D - just cooking ratatouille with potato wedges

Have drunk loads of water but still want something to nibble...

noyouhavehadawee · 24/01/2013 19:34

oh i so wanted a scotch egg today so so wanted one. i resisted though and glad to see i not the only nearly half pounder this week, it would have been so easy to sack it but i will stay strong . perhaps i don't sin enough but chocolate and sweets and cakes just don't pull me in its the scotch eggs and pies Grin Grin Grin

noyouhavehadawee · 24/01/2013 19:34

slow and steady slow and steady Wink

BadRoly · 24/01/2013 20:53

beanandspud I have the munchies too - I have stuffed different fruits, yoghurts and water down but none of it is doing it tonight. Must be something in the air...

tigerdriverII · 24/01/2013 22:21

Not quite so ravenous today

B 0% yog, banana and honey 1

L cold roast beef, various undressed salads

D two large glasses of wine 16

S satsumas. Another medium glass of wine 6

Total 22. Not great.....

Was going to have supper but we got way laid.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/01/2013 22:26

Fuck me wine is bad Shock I love it but have large gins now and diet mixer

Waylaid?? Dare I ask how?? Have wine but you must eat as well

The sweet potato curry is even better a few days old. Had with rice for lunch and yummy

I so want my mugshot. Twins still asleep but my tummy says its 11pm Grin

tigerdriverII · 24/01/2013 22:43

blondes. Worked late. DH had to collect me from work (35 mile round trip) as only one car can still get up our drive, so he has my car. Went for a drink on way home, bought DS supper as DH had forgotten to make any. Supper delayed, pub was in a muddle. We didn't order for ourselves as we're going to cook at home. Eventually got home just before 10. Decided not to cook! Had another Wine after all that and also my mate is taking me to work tomorrow (as DH car stuck, and repeat). I promise to eat properly tomorrow. But have had lots of fruit and veg today as well as special grape juice.

Blondeshavemorefun · 24/01/2013 22:58

Surely grape juice wine should be free on sw

Sounds a hello of a day :(

tigerdriverII · 24/01/2013 23:05

It was ok actually, don't normally get home much before 8. But everything else was bit irritating! Tomorrow better, my pal will take me there and back, just need to make sure that there isn't too much grape juice around tomorrow evening...can't wait for the thaw, I love snow, never thought I'd say that

Blondeshavemorefun · 25/01/2013 08:28

2 lbs off :) really happy with that esp as had a Chinese fri - copious amounts of gin Saturday night and lunch out Monday :)

so 6 in 3 weeks and jeans def baggier round blondes butt :)

and oh said I looked slimmer in face and also boobs are getting smaller rofl

I will measure next week so every 4 weeks as sometimes you don't lose lbs but cms

So everyone if you haven't measured at new year when we started sw measure now and again every 4 weeks and you will see the numbers go down :)

BadRoly · 25/01/2013 09:35

Morning and well done Blondes Grin

I haven't measured but the new jeans I bought in November are now clearly too big Hmm and I love them Hmm

People are commenting on my face and I know I'm losing on my waist because I need new belts Smile. My boobs just look extra droopy now - I need to start doing toning exercises I think. I have a yoga and a Pilates DVD on order Grin

I have got off to a bad start however, coffee with dh (he gets home Thurs night) and a pain au raisin Confused so 18.5 syns minimum before 10am Shock

Imnotaslimjim · 25/01/2013 10:10

Loving the losses here, well done everyone!

I'm going to follow everyone else and start keeping a food diary

B - magic porridge and a satsuma
L - Speed soup and a scan bran (bleurgh but really boosts the losses!)
D - SW Dopiaza. Recipe is on the website but I can copy it in here for anyone not officially following

I've made some scan bran rochers too for my chocolate fix later, and going to stick to fruit for snacks

Tindertree · 25/01/2013 11:26

Wow bean, that is great!

Welcome turkey Smile

imnot, I think it might help me to do that too - it would certainly highlight how many syns are currently going on grape juice extra. Need to follow blondes and switch to gin Grin

Another great loss blondes!

Now, how do I manage nandos this evening? Confused DP is determined we go, and since it's his first proper day off in ages, it would be highly churlish to object...
