I squished into a pair of size 10 jeans today! OK they were only comfy to wear for half an hour but Grin

we're unpacking the remaining bathroom boxes this weekend - I'm quite excited about finding the scales - surely I've lost? Hmm

Sophiathesnowfairy · 25/01/2013 13:31

Krispy Kreme

TheTiger · 25/01/2013 17:04

Ok today I have sorted myself out. Bran flakes for breakfast, fruit and rice cakes for lunch, and chicken and home made wedges for dinner later.

Took DS to his baby swimming, surely walking round a pool for 30 mins burns lots of calories!?

YW size 10?? Envy

INeedThatForkOff · 25/01/2013 22:41

YW, are you quite tall? Our stats are much the same, and I'd as much get in size 10 jeans as DD's clothes [benvy]

I've been having a bit of a think whilst sorting out a hair disaster and ending up with a lovely colour. We're introducing quite a strict budget, but it does include £100 personal spending money each month. It wouldn't get me very far if I had a mad social life or a coffee habit, but if I look at all the money I have to myself over the year, and ask DH to give me money instead of birthday and Christmas presents, I can give myself quite a nice wedge of cash to spend on clothes once I've got to my target weight or thereabouts. I want to start looking smarter in general, and am going to take some time to thinl about the kind of look I want. I'm also going to take more time over skin care (I use the oil cleansing method but could do with some sort of anti-ageing product too) and keep my hair looking nice.

Would it help anyone else's motivation to join me?

Sophiathesnowfairy · 26/01/2013 07:48

Yes please fork

I am not buying any clothes now till I am out my goal.

Also I have been a having a crisis of style. Confused

My natural style is based on smart though since I have had kids I have mixed in casual and I don't know how much it suits me, I might be too old for a denim mini skirt and leggings ensemble.

I will 40 in March Shock

I will be downsizing my life in the autumn, leaving work, moving to Northern Ireland and being a mum and a wife

So how do I be a 40 something smart casual grown up?

How do I know what suits my shape?

What the feck is my shape?

I wondered about writing to Good Housekeeping I thought all these factors might have me down as a good makeover candidate! Grin

Iheartpasties · 26/01/2013 10:31

oh crickey good idea about not buying clothes now until reaching goal. I will think about that one. It seems very sensible. save up and get some actual nice bits. mmmm. food for thought :)

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief · 26/01/2013 13:12

I have a top I bought when I had DD as motivation. Hoping I'll get to wear it to a party in March. Tried it on today and it does fit fine, but would look better if I was a few pounds thinner on the hips

Had Indian Takeaway tonight after knackering night (looking at you, DD) and day- DS had a school interview, I had Zumba and DD was just quite hard work (didn't really nap which is usually my opportunity to cook). Minimised damage by going for drier options- shared chicken tikka, lamb shish kebab and tarka dhal with DH and had roti instead of naan (no rice). Drunk about 2 pints of water to try to stop the salt bloat.

My jeans do look looser around the bottoms of my thighs (I always get fat knees when I put on weight) so am cautiously optimistic about weigh-in on Monday (or maybe the jeans just need a wash).

My sister came round today and said she thought I'd lost weight since Christmas. Wonder what she wants Grin

INeedThatForkOff · 26/01/2013 15:40

I'm going to have to buy an in-between pair of jeans, but I'll go for something reasonably priced like Next. Can't wait to be able to wear skinnies without looking like a parsnip Smile

INeedThatForkOff · 26/01/2013 16:59

Woop! Just tried on a dress in Monsoon that I couldn't fasten at new year. I can now! Don't need it anymore though.

Based on your stats I think you can get away with a takeaway or two Pennie. Good going!

Ah, I'm having a keen phase again. Love it!

utopian99 · 26/01/2013 22:43

Was down again but starving today. Light lunch but then massive supper so not sure I'll be in a great place on Monday weigh in..

Iheartpasties · 26/01/2013 22:45

I'm hoping for weight lose on monday - I checked during the week and I could see it was coming off, but I seem to manage to put some back on during the weekend!! oops. If only I could be good all weekend. I need to think about snacks this week and have some fruit or carrots or something like that to snack on. Banish the bloody biscuits.

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief · 27/01/2013 03:30

Euggh. Ds has norovirus. Dh has manfully agreed to deal with the hourly pools of vomit and I've taken dd out for a few hours so we can try to avoid contagion. I guess the walking will be good for me. However, has probably put paid to my planned gym session unless I have the willpower to go tonight once they're in bed.

Iheartpasties · 27/01/2013 08:25

oh no - norovirus. awful!

tearoomtrash · 27/01/2013 10:06

I can't wait until weigh in tomorrow. I finally feel as though I've lost some weight, and a coat that wouldn't even meet in the middle a month ago, can now be zipped up (was a bit like squeezing sausage meat into a skin, but it's still progress...).

I defy my scales to give me bad news this week!!!! Angry

TheTiger · 27/01/2013 10:08

rich oh your poor DS wouldn't mind a bit of norovirus to help speed along the weight loss

Today I am wearing a pair of SIZE 10 jeans!! I was inspired by YW to try them on, woohoo. Yes, I have a little muffin top going on, but baggy top has covered it so it's my little secret, ha.

Hoping to see 9 stone 8 tomorrow.

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief · 27/01/2013 11:51

He's stopped puking (thank God because I really, really have to go to work tomorrow). It has been a long day though. Have watched Madagascar, Cars, Cars II and Babe. Spent the rest of the day walking the streets of Wan Chai to get DD out of the house. Saw a really nice skirt in Tommy Bahama but DD wouldn't let me try it on (she is DH's shopping enforcer Grin). Now watching the Aussie Open and kids both asleep. DH is scoffing the Christmas Fruit and Nut chocolate, and I am encouraging him to get it out of the house (hope i'm not turning into a feeder)

Glad everyone's getting into their normal clothes- it's such a great feeling isn't it? I'm bikini shopping for my hols this week. Can get into my bottoms but my bf boobs are mahoosive so my triangle tops make me look v trashy. Need a bit more coverage.

Good luck to everyone for the weigh in tomorrow

crazypaving · 27/01/2013 12:28

oh dear I'm really not doing well. not getting much sleep and ds2 is feeding loads. means I'm starving all the time and craving chocolate because I'm so tired. unfortunately we have quite a lot of chocolate in the house at the moment. gah I wish someone else could do this for me! I'm getting really frustrated with myself. not sure if I'm trying to do this too soon or if I'm always going to have an excuse.

TheTiger · 27/01/2013 12:30

crazy I fid it really hard to resist chocolate and carbs when DS has had me up all night. I know people say its bad, bad, bad but I find a can of diet coke eases the craving.

crazypaving · 27/01/2013 13:02

thanks for the tip, Tiger. I may give that a try - am pretty desperate!

NanoNinja · 27/01/2013 13:10

Wow - good work on the clothes, ladies! I braved my forgiving pre pregnancy jeans this week and they fit fine. Mind you, I was wearing them until five months pregnant though.

Am not weighing in tomorrow because am away from home and don't want to use different scales. Think I would probably be about the same but diet is in need of a total overhaul when I'm back.

kirrinIsland · 27/01/2013 16:17

Good work on the jeans ladies :)

I have days when I just cant stop eating, but I am genuinely hungry as opposed to the days when I just trough all day through boredom I assume it's a breast feeding thing, and I tell myself it's ok if I'm actually hungry

I was doing quite well apart from the odd can of coke until today when I got through a fair few biscuits at a meeting.

Still haven't cracked open the Shred DVD, but I did try my weighted hula hoop - I'm rubbish, but I can see that it would be quite effective if only I could do it!

INeedThatForkOff · 27/01/2013 17:09

I'm having a biscuit hungry day today too kirrin.

These are the jeans I'm going to buy to start with. A bit more forgiving than skinnies. Embarrassingly they'll be a size 14 (and not even that yet!)

utopian99 · 27/01/2013 17:51

They look like a great shape, I'm a big fan of straight leg jeans with a heeled boot to make legs longer..

kirrin i'm.the same with on/off days. Was starving yesterday despite no exercise, hoping against hope it's just extra milk making. Also hoping the appetite goes away once we start weaning, as I'll have had months to get into bad habits by then if I'm not careful!
