trash this maybe an odd question and those who know me may think I have become dangerously obsessed but you haven't had a Mirena Coil have you?

Sophiathesnowfairy · 22/01/2013 20:36

Ok so I have lost another lb. 12st3 lbs, although the scales did flicker to 12st 2 lbs which was heartening. I am now sticking to 1300 calls a day so today has been:

Boiled egg on 1 slice whole meal toast
Banana
Small portion beans on weight watchers mater Danish
Weight watchers wafer bar thing
Pasta bolognaise using in whole wheat pasta

45 mins of zumba

Now I am watching supersize vs super skinny for motivation!Hmm

Sophiathesnowfairy · 22/01/2013 20:41

Oo a couple of ryvitas tooBlush

NotSoNervous · 22/01/2013 22:08

project that sounds like it would be good motivation, I'm up for it

sophia v impressed with your healthy eating, better then mine today must try harder I'm impressed I didn't cave today and eat chocolate

VisualiseAHorse · 22/01/2013 23:10

Nervous - doing well with not eating chocolate - I'm doing rubbish on that front. OH keeps buying me Creme Eggs. Mmmmmmmmmmmm...

But, still doing the Shred, and eating properly (aside from the Eggs. We won't mention those).

utopian99 · 23/01/2013 02:44

Went for a medium fast walk around the city centre today for a good 2 hours with lo strapped to my chest in sling, after a brisk walk to our tenants house first. Happy with the exercise and was doing really well on food until the evil greggs undermined me with a bacon cheese wrap.

So- 1 healthy/low fat hot cross bun
Boots shapers chicken wrap
Small slice carrot cake
Aforementioned evil greggs
Bbq chicken (homemade) fries & peas
Satsuma for pudding

Does anyone know, out of curiousity, how baby wearing affects calories burnt when walking?

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief · 23/01/2013 03:45

Utopian well purely using the laws of physics, it takes more energy to move a heavier object than a lighter one (all other things being equal), so walking carrying a baby should burn more calories than pushing one in a stroller (because you get assistance from the wheels) or not having one at all.

It is 11.45 here. I am trying to put off having lunch till 1pm but dont think I'll succeed today- starvosio.

Iheartpasties · 23/01/2013 04:59

wow - If I had chocolate in the house I would be eating some now, and maybe having a drink too?! Bloody tiddler tantrums driving me insane today.

Need to buy some more wraps at the supermarket, Ive been enjoying a wrap for lunch.

utopian99 · 23/01/2013 05:37

richman and any others - have found this link which suggests about 50 calories burnt / 15 minutes extra if wearing a toddler. Obviously a bit less for babies but it's a start! They really need to add some of these to mfp...

Just checked and 15 mins backpacking is 109/15mins compared to brisk walking 59/15mins, so figure brisk walk with baby on is maybe 75-85/mins?

littleredmonkey · 23/01/2013 08:08

Projectbabyweight. I will buddy up with you. Need to lose 4 stone. Have lost 13lbs since new years day.

projectbabyweight · 23/01/2013 08:35

Oh no, I'm spoiled for choice! NotSoNervous and littleredmonkey can I pm both of you?

I had a brainwave (of sorts) yesterday - despite being at home for lunch, I'm often out till 12/1pm, so by the time I've sorted out the dc, I'm very hungry and just grab the nearest thing. So I'm going to make my lunches the night before!

It'll be something like chicken salad, or leftovers from tea - casserole etc. We'll see how it goes but I'm feeling optimistic Smile

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief · 23/01/2013 10:29

Thanks utopian. I need to get a sling that works. She's getting too heavy for the Bjorn but not quite big enough for the ergo so I've been using the pushchair a fair bit. Ok day for me today

Muesli and fat free yoghurt for breakfast
Tuna sushi and soup for lunch
Salmon and salad for supper
Skimmed milk latte mid afternoon ( and a couple of novices- oops)

littleredmonkey · 23/01/2013 11:12

Yeh projectbaby. Pm me no problem

NotSoNervous · 24/01/2013 07:35

Yeh okay project Smile

crazypaving · 24/01/2013 08:04

wow ds2 up all night feeding. weighed myself this morning out of interest and I lost half a stone overnight!! Grin

utopian99 · 24/01/2013 12:48

Back to 10lb 11oz now, being a bit better at walking for the sake of it plus going carb-light on lunches and granola/yoghurt instead of toast for breakfast..

Got 15 mins of ab work done from my dvd yesterday. LO will sleep for an hour on me easily, but not in his bouncy chair while i exercise!

INeedThatForkOff · 24/01/2013 13:04

crazy, that's going some Grin

I'm 1lb down this week - a steady 1lb a week since new year, which I'm happy with as it's consistent and my milk supply has just about recovered from an initial hit. Really not trying while I'm doing a few weeks' work, so come mid-Feb when I get exercising regularly I'm expecting great things

Sophiathesnowfairy · 24/01/2013 13:21

Wow crazy WOW.

Went out for hot date last night Grin and was relatively good, I did have a couple of glasses of wine and I did have pate Hmm to start off, but then I had salmon, no sauce with spinach and parsnips. No dessert. So not too bad. Hopefully my bums and tums in front of the TV might have offset it.

Love reading everyone else's menus for the day it gives me loads of ideas to vary what I am having and avoid boredom.

crazypaving · 24/01/2013 15:04

argh stuck on sofa feeding constantly! would usually get out for brisk walk today with ds2 in sling as ds1 as childminder but as soon as I remove boob from ds2's mouth he wails Hmm reckon I can lose another half stone by tomorrow morning? Grin Grin damn I'm thirsty...

TheTiger · 24/01/2013 20:34

Ive fallen off the diet wagon this week. I've had Krispy Kreme donuts, McDonald's and nandos. Someone give me a shake!!

NanoNinja · 24/01/2013 21:07

Urgh. Back at my mum and dad's so no control over food. Lasagne and raspberry crumble for dinner tonight. Oh, and pre dinner crisps. Think baby nano is going to be very unsettled despite barely no sleep today. Ah well, only ten days (!)
I'll shake you if you shake me tiger.

RichManPoorManBeggarmanThief · 25/01/2013 02:07

[shakes Tiger vigorously until she releases Krispy Kreme donut. Eats it]

God, I soooo want a KK now Fortunately they went bankrupt in HK so I can't have one (apparently the Chinese just didn't like them as they were too sweet - the deluded fools).

Kind of okay week so far- or rather okay on the quantity, slightly rubbish on the quality due to just having too much to do and eating on the hop. Making chili tonight (i use a bit less meat and more veggies/ beans) and we're having lettuce tacos rather than rice or corn tacos, fresh salsa and guacamole with it. Then going to start watching the Killing 3 on DVD (God, I am so rock n roll). Haven't even glanced in the direction of the gym for about 2 weeks, but doing a lot of walking. Now I'm doing it, I'm kind of Blush that I always used to get cabs these distances.

Sleep training DD started last night. I'm trying to drastically cut down the night feeds to 4 hrs between as currently nursing is the ONLY way she can get to sleep unless in the pushchair or the car. She screamed in my arms for an hour at 10.30 (I eventually gave in and fed her), woke at 3.30 and I fed her, and then screamed in my arms again for an hour at 5am (I didnt give in- she went back to sleep- she didnt then feed until 8am so she was not hungry). As I was rocking her in my arms, which were rapidly going numb, I did have the consoling thought that "ah well, at least my triceps are getting toned"

No social plans for the weekend so I'm hoping I can lose a couple more pounds this week.

Iheartpasties · 25/01/2013 04:25

gah i have munched about 4 biscuits today and had a few yesterday!!! i wouldnt have eaten them if they were not in the flat - someone brought them around. damn!!!

utopian99 · 25/01/2013 05:24

Major episode of swinging O in car seat to make him sleep this eve, half bent forward to avoid crashing into knees so great for core muscles/arms! (at least that's what i tell myself when it aches like the bejeezus and he still won't sleep!). Dh was trying to do it all to be helpful and I had to explain I wanted to for the toning!

On another note, can reducing calories affect milk.supply? Was really pleased as only had cup soup with some fresh tomatoes and ham for lunch then O went off on a feeding spree and looked like he pretty much exhausted my supply by 10pm. Is that my fault due small.lunch? (it is back again now thankfully!)

Was really happy with reduction in food yesterday but not going to do it if it means i run out of milk?

NotSoNervous · 25/01/2013 10:32

Nandos, McDonald's
