Hmm question ladies

How do you decide on a weight that happy with to settle at ?

My goal for so long was always 10 stone which tbh seemed for a long time was never achievable

Reading on lot of diet threads people talking about sizd 12 being big still :( and that they 9 stone aiming or 8 something

Trying to be realstic in my head to me that seems to thin for my height ( just tad under 5.7 and that I probably look I'll af that

My BMI is 22 so healthy range . I'm a 12 in Primark or h&m 10 in next sizes tgat I never dreamt I be and that I have large boobs and child bearing hips ( cheers mum , though done all the child bearing tyvm )

But don't know if my body image is screwed in my mind after being overweight for so long . or am I seeing myself as slim when I'm not really

Help kick my arsr try put things in perspective

My weight has to be decided on by how I am happy living...
In theory the lower thebetter (for me) but I would be miserable maintaining a low weight (say 10stone is very low for me).

So I have to just be eating a healthy diet, with weekends to indulge - and whatever my weight settles at has to be my natural weight that i can live with.

Even if I lost loads - I don't feel I look better - in fact my body is pretty wrecked when naked and worse when I lose more.

So I think the question is - what weight are you happy to maintain?? You hardly eat anything Human - can you keep this up forever? Would you want to?

Hope that makes sense and I don't sound like a total arse Blush I have just been struggling to keep eating healthily these last couple of days and having a 'fuck it' moment.

I decided mine was 10st 7 when i was a, perfect size 12, i felt slim and confident in clothes that fitted nicely and i felt happy with my reflection. I think it comes in time

I started at 13st 9 and intended to go to 10st5 as that's BMi 25. I'm now 11st and a lot of the time I get a real buzz from being so 'thin' even though I'm still technically overweight. This is thinner than I have been since I was about 22. so sometimes I think I could stop now.

But then I look at my stomach and waist and both are big, I think I'm so used to being larger (size 16-18) that I forget that I'm still large. I'm only 5ft 4 and size 12 in shops that do vanity sizing but in theory I could be 8 st.

So I think I am going to aim to get down to about 10st but also look at how my face, stomach, waist look.

I read lots of threads too with women my height wanting to go down to 8st or similar small weights. I just assume that they've probably always been small and so they want to go back to where they should be naturally whereas I don't think I would be able maintain at that level. And I have such large norks anyway that I'd look stupid at that weight.

I think it is best to stop where we were originally intending and pause for reflection .

I feel incredibly slim at the moment after 10 years of being much larger...but my DH is REALLY hassling me to stick to my original goal as it wasn't supposed to be about looks but about BMI and healthy weights.

I am still aiming for 9 st 7 as that is BMI 22 for my height. Although progress is now so horribly slow I may have to break off just so I can stop feeling guilty for a while. I remember the guilt from all my previous failed diets and I do NOT want to be on that path again...

I think I am just starting to notice the extra flabby bits again after a month at broadly the same weight, for most of which I have just been loving the new shape.

I think time to adjust your expectations is fair. But I also think it is much much harder to diet if it vanity driven rather than health driven.

Thank you for helping me put in perspective . Was wondering if being large for so long if that skewing seeing self as slim when not . Am going to stick with sitting between 9.7 and 10 stone . I'm happy at this weight body train wreck anyway and tbh I did this for me my health and my kids know other reasons

I have started increasing amount I eat calorie wise am up to 900 a day and weight slowing but still coming of . So not sure where limit is will see how it goes after my holiday [ grin]

You can compare your BMi with other Brits and other countries. With a bmi of 26 I apparently weigh less than 51% of Brits!

Tortoise tbh at start I just toon it that even 7lb was a good aim as rest seemed to far was thinking a size 16 be my aim ( I brought clothed in jan sale in a 16 ready for Summer thinking be there by then

But decided I'm going sit around 9.7 -10 as that's making me a size 10/12 fixed waistband style
depending where and can sit/do up without acrobats and think any lower I'm going start looking ill

Will start working on maintaing it now ( sigh think this be the tricky bit )

human as I predicted months ago you're the first one to maintain. How are you doing it? You've been eating very low cals and carbs. Are you enjoying having more calories to play with? I know that you were disappointed with cheese and you felt Ill after eating normalish at centre parcs so I'm hoping that you'll be able to get some enjoyment out of food now.

I hope everyone is well and your dc are all better. Foodwise I had an unusually good day as weekends are so tough. Had salad in a pub and then a homemade spicy soup which was very tasty.

Dh noticed I was wearing skinny trousers today (bought in January sales so hardly new). I thought he might notice my skinny legs but apparently not. So he still hasn't noticed that I have lost nearly 20% of my body weight. Hilarious.

tortoise he's probably realised that he's better off with you, you just have to be prepared for him to say it next time you're having an argument.

Well, my body ready wants to stick at 11st. From 154.8 lbs to 154.3lbs so I have lost 1/2 lb. slightly annoying as I was so determined to get into the 10s I ate like a rabbit really healthily. Oh well at least it's in the right direction.

Good luck everyone else.
