Ooooooohhhh, that's exciting, and a bit of an honour, I feel like the Leader!

ha! sniggering at the thighs thing...I noticed this the other day too :) in fact I can't get flesh on flesh in between legs now as knees get in the way...

There is one advantage though...NO MORE CHAFFING.

sorry just had to get that out there...

I have found that over the last month that I haven't really lost weight, my waist has continued to shrink. I think 'mummy tummy' might just take a long time to redistribute. Especially if the skin needs to re-tension itself.

Youcanringmybell · 14/03/2013 15:41

Now I am having a crisis and want to EAT...
I currently have a thread going in chat.

My ds is in the worst state with bloody eczema of all things. I am feeling very 'binge-esque' at the moment.

WHY??? I need my husband home. Do any of you have experience in eczema - the really angry, raw painful type? Sad

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 14/03/2013 18:14

I read your thread, I'm so sorry that poor ds is in pain. I had painful red raw eczema when I was about 16 on my face and I think it took about three weeks to stop being red and a year before the marks around my eyes went so it did seem to take forever. It was cured with hydrocortisone. I had the odd few patches afterwards until I was about 22.

Dd1 has just finished a course of hydrocortisone 1% as she has very small, mild patch on her hands that just look like dry skin. She's 4. I can't remember what dose your ds is on.

I'm sure the lovely ladies in chat will be more helpful but I wondered if you had a minor injuries unit you could go to that's closer than your gp (thinking of saving you taxi fees). We have one in my town that does deal with skin problems as well as bone breakages and fractures but I don't know if your area is different.

I'm so sorry that you're having to deal with this on your own and dh isn't with you. If one of my dcs were in pain I'd want to binge too. You have done so well and if you can't resist just come back here and let off steam, it will only be temporary, he will get better, and then you can go back to healthy eating. I think most of us are probably the type of people who eat under pressure so please don't feel bad if that's what you do.

Youcanringmybell · 14/03/2013 18:37

Thank you johnny for you kind words. I feel a little calmer now. He didn't complian of the burning this time when I put the cream on so perhaps I will see a small change by the morning. Hopefully he will sleep.

Thanks for letting me know about your eczema...it is useful to know that these things can take a long time to clear. I have put a picture on my profile now. The docs is actually closer than the hospital but if I have to pay I will have to. Just cane see the money poring away it seems!!

TheHumancatapult · 14/03/2013 19:07

You can ds2 had most appalling excema and dd has psorais and when your applying cream in flare up it will sting as skin is dry and drinking it up while re moisturise but if don't won't get better

Hydrocortisone and moisturise every 2 hours smother it on . Wgat moisturising cream has ds got ? It may need changing for Sonething like ungeterm murk ( spelling ) looks like chip fat but is good . Also ask be referred to dermatologist

Johnny icb my legs same I given up all hope of Loosibg mummy tummy 4 dx means I have atlas of stretch marks plus weight that gained add in core work hard to do buy I can live with it

Though Gp has put in request to see if can get skin gone as sitting all time means sweaty and infectio under as I can't air /stretch as such . Be nice if can apart from medical sides vanity be nice

But if not then well I can live with it at almost 40 my bikin days have gonec

Youcanringmybell · 14/03/2013 20:12

Thanks human - if i can get back tot eh docs then I will ask for a different moisteriser for it. The Oilatum is rubbish and stingy and I think makes it worse - not better.

I will keep going with oisteriser...you know when it is bad they cry when you touch it. I never thought eczema would get so bad in child that never had before.

TheHumancatapult · 14/03/2013 20:19

Youcan that's his skin drinking up the liquid sadly that's only way :( it does sting I can remember ds2 sobbing his eyes out but do it every 2 hrs without fail

Youcanringmybell · 14/03/2013 20:30

Thanks Human - that is what I need - someone to just tell me what isnormal and what isn't. Thanks

Youcanringmybell · 14/03/2013 20:31

There is a pic on my profile...look familiar to you ?

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 14/03/2013 22:34

Oh youcan poor ds, that looks so painful. We have been given a moisturiser called epaderm for dd1 but her eczema is nowhere near as bad. A friend also recommended a moisturiser called double base as her dd (also 4) had very dry skin, and apparently it's largely water.

How is ds now? I hope you're all able to sleep tonight.

human your shopping sounds wonderful. I am not going to let myself buy any more clothes until I'm BMi of 25 as I just don't want to waste any money. But I do need new knickers as they're falling down and some have floppy, dangly gussets!

Tortoise · 14/03/2013 23:06

Failing miserably this week Sad .
Youcan No experience of eczema, but I hope it improves soon. I know how badly hand cream stings my hands when they have got really dry.

Had a meeting after school about DD1s year 6 residential trip. She goes in September for a week with the whole class. It's going to cost £210! Also DD2 goes on her year 4 three day residential in May at a cost of £100!
And there was I hoping to have money to go on a family holiday! Getting more and more unlikely unless my Ebay business gets some good sales!

TheHumancatapult · 15/03/2013 06:27

Johnny

Yup I did that brought stuff in jan thinking ok a size 16 be about right I'll be happy with that and well guess who be listing on eBay and yup I had to buy knickers and need new bras to but will wait till after Easter holidays

Tortoise I'm so with you on that I just paid out £97 for dd 2 night trip

Have ti buy ds2 suits for 6th formn( when I was at school half fun was no uniform ) and need sort out suit for prom and because of his Unurusal shape ( tall and thin ) its going cost more

And still got pay bit of holiday and then need pay powerchair rental ( won't fly with my powerchair as if damaged I'm screwed least my manual I can fix of damaged )

TheHumancatapult · 15/03/2013 06:43

You can yes sadly looks familiar ds has grown out worse of it no just odd patch behind knees now and then

Youcanringmybell · 15/03/2013 07:01

Thanks Human - the other thread people have said it doesn't look like eczema. But eczema can look like this can't it - when it gets so inflammed? Thanks

DancingInTheMoonlight · 15/03/2013 07:27

It doesn't look as what i would recognise as eczema but there are different types. Could it look 'wetter' rather than plaques of drier skin because you are covering it? To me it looks more like a chemical burn?Has he lent on any chemical like product (like a flash wipe/ puddle of bleach) . Btw I'm not medically trained at all, it just occurred to me due to the round shape

Youcanringmybell · 15/03/2013 07:33

Thanks dancing - no he hasn't..it started as a rash that has filled in with inflammation if that makes sense. But it looks like discoid eczema...it is very very dry! I covered it for preschool just so he didn't damage the area by scratching. It is uncovered now.

Of sourse it could be something else...so just waiting on the steroid and anti-fungal cream to get working.

I didn't binge!! I just plodded on. I had a glass of low alcohol wine thought and a weight watchers pudding.

DancingInTheMoonlight · 15/03/2013 07:50

Have you taken him to the gp yet (sorry you may have said before but I'm struggling to check s have a sleeping toddler on my arm after a rough night). Could he be allergic to the cream?

DancingInTheMoonlight · 15/03/2013 07:51

Well done for not binging tho!

Youcanringmybell · 15/03/2013 08:24

Thanks dancing 0- he went on monday and wednesday...was prescribed daktacort...I may be imagining things but it looks less angry today Smile

DancingInTheMoonlight · 15/03/2013 08:56

Hopefully the cream is working its magic then! I'm trying to resist a day of excess after being up since 3 with ds. On my forth coffee!

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 15/03/2013 09:18

youcan glad it looks less angry. It's awful waiting for something to get better especially when you can see they're in pain. And well done for not binging.

dancing Is ds sick or just a very early riser? Hope he's ok.

We have got a very quiet weekend lined up, after the excesses of last weekend (two evenings out on London) I'll be eating sensibly again. I'm looking forward to it.

DancingInTheMoonlight · 15/03/2013 09:21

He had another fit in the night and a very high temp. Seems fine this morning tho i am shattered which is good and a little annoying

Youcanringmybell · 15/03/2013 16:20

Sorry that you ds is not well either - are these febrile seizures or have I missed something? Blush

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 15/03/2013 18:53

Sorry to hear that dancing I hope he's ok, you must both be shattered. I hope you have a relaxing weekend.
