I get a lot of ideas from skinnytaste website. It's American but she give you the calories and the breakdown of protein ect as well.

glenthebattleostrich · 01/10/2012 07:58

Hello, I'm pretty late to this thread but can I join? I've been on MFP off and on for ages. I loose a little bit, then loose motivation and put it all back on again. I really need some help and a big kick in the bottom!

cinnamongreyhound · 01/10/2012 19:47

Welcome glenthebattleostrich!

Will have a look there wheredidiputit :)

oh dear, can't seem to get back into logging food. Counter reset as I must have missed a day. :(

I need to sort myself out and waking up to the smell of freshly baked bread isn't helping!

localcrackpot · 02/10/2012 15:17

Hello, I'm on MFP usually (hiatus due to stinking, stinking cold which can only be treated with pudding) and I'm polishedteapot, so please feel free to add me if you like :)

Sparklingbrook · 03/10/2012 07:34

Came in under calories every day.
Walked 3 miles briskly every day.

After one week I have lost one pound. Sad Gutted is an understatement. Isn't it supposed to fall off the first week? Feel like crying TBH.

Sparklingbrook · 03/10/2012 09:32

I have had a thought. I started MFP 2 weeks ago but didn't weigh myself until last Wednesday. So the big weight loss must have been the week before but I wouldn't have known. Oh yes, that must be it.......

jchocchip · 03/10/2012 17:32

depends if you have a lot to lose. I would be quite happy with 1lb a week. It is more sustainable than a big loss. Are you drinking your water? I find that makes a difference...

Sparklingbrook · 03/10/2012 17:48

No water drinking jchoc. Blush I will make a real effort this week. I have a fair bit to lose, I am 11lbs heavier than I thought I was. Blush I am coming off some tablets that I think were attributing to my weight gain.

cinnamongreyhound · 03/10/2012 20:57

I lost 5lb the first week Sparklingbrook but then settled into a 1-2 lb loss a week. You could be right the last week was your big loss first week but try to see 1lb loss as a positive. You need to eat 2500 calories less than you're using in a week to lose a lb so that's not an easy thing to do. Plus if you had been gaining for a while you will also have had to decrease you calories by more than that to stop the gain too. Try and think that every small step is a step on the way to the new you.

Kick kick jchocchip Wink you can do it you've got this far. Get back to logging everything and then start worrying about keeping under your calorie goal after that.

Wow, it's quiet here the last few days.

I am still hobbling around on my boot and feeling happier than I was but still finding it really hard. Still can't drive and dh is getting grumpier by the day! I posted in AIBU as he was a pretty grumpy the other night and I was really upset. I have been eating more crap than usualy but that was a combination of a grumpy dh, totm and feeling fed up myself! I am now 58.7Kg so less than my target so ok. I am concerned after a comment from RGPargy on mfp that I may be already losing muscle though :(. Missing running and fed up of walking taking so long but otherwise I'm ok.

Hope everyone is doing ok :)

Hi cinnamon glad you are feeling a bit happier.

I am quietly getting on with it. Struggling to get the water down but all good otherwise. Two weeks in already and I haven't waivered.

MonsterBookOfTysons · 05/10/2012 11:42

Cinnamon you will build the muscle up quickly if it is that, don't get to down.
My dh is being grumpy to, very irritating :o

KatieScarlett2833 · 05/10/2012 15:41

3lb off this week, 19lb off so far!!!

I'll be a skinnie minnie by christmas if it kills me Wink

Sparklingbrook · 05/10/2012 17:36

I can't wait to have lost 19lbs Katie that's fab.

KatieScarlett2833 · 05/10/2012 18:07

I've been at it for 10 weeks though sparkling Grin

Would have been more if it hadn't been for those pesky mini party-ring biscuits......

Sparklingbrook · 05/10/2012 18:40

So did you go astray at all in the 10 weeks Katie? I am still in the 'scared to deviate from plan' phase.

KatieScarlett2833 · 05/10/2012 18:53

Yes, at least once a week Blush

The microwave sweet popcorn I ingested before checking the calorie content (900), being the most memorable...

And the aforementioned mini party rings

And my mac and cheese addiction

etc.

Sparklingbrook · 05/10/2012 19:23

Oh no- 900 calories Katie Shock Did you just stop eating for the rest of the day/week?

KatieScarlett2833 · 05/10/2012 19:28

It was an evening snack sparkling Sad

Everyone in the house laughed themselves hoarse at my idiocy.

It was slim pickings till the next weigh-in. Oddly enough, I put on a pound that week..... Wink

Sparklingbrook · 05/10/2012 19:42

I have just had 2 Starburst sweets and a wine Gum. Sad

RGPargy · 06/10/2012 19:45

Hi guys, just bookmarking!

RGPargy · 06/10/2012 19:48

Sorry cinnamon, I didn't mean to upset you. It might also be that when you use your muscles, they retain water to aid their recovery. Maybe it's just excess water from lack of use that's coming off.......? Hope you are doing ok. :)

Sparklingbrook · 06/10/2012 20:15

I weighed in on Wednesday and I have weighed myself today. Nothing. Sad

wheredidiputit · 06/10/2012 20:18

Sparklingbrook

Are you eating all your daily calories (not including your exercise ones) and drinking enough.

I find if I eat less then my 1200 daily calories then I don't lose but if I eat my daily calories and drink at least 6 drinks then I lose.
