It's going ok, it's just all the leftover Christmas stuff that's the problem! Have put most the chocs in a bag for dh to take to work tomorrowGrin

DharmaBumpkin · 01/01/2013 19:56

Day One down, many more to go!

An alternative way for people to add via user name is to go to the add via email page, once there the app gives you the option of using email address or user name. It's worked for me, anyway!

Thanks to those who have added me or responded to my request,I think the cheerleaders are going to make a huge difference!

claretandamberforever · 01/01/2013 20:34

Count me back in!

I really want to learn to eat healthily. I'm sick of fad diets and meal replacement diets (and it's only day 1!) so as of tomorrow I want to eat normal and lose weight. I accept it's probably going to happen really s-l-o-w-l-y and I'm one of those people who wants instant gratification. I'm on a budget so can't really eat much fresh food or it'd cost me a fortune - any tips?

momoland · 01/01/2013 22:41

Hey all have used mfp before but not seriously. Determined to loose at least 21Ibs. Would it be cool to add some mfp buddies for support. Feel free to add me and give me tips and a row if I'm being bad lol. User name is monzaponza :)

renaldo · 02/01/2013 08:14

HeffalumpsAndWoozles · 02/01/2013 08:23

Hiya, can I join please? I had DD2 towards the end of September and have 2 stone to lose, hopefully most of it before I return to work in June. I've started the C25K programme and MFP as of yesterday, would be lovely to have some support/arse kicking :)

My username is Trolleybird.

wheredidiputchristmas · 02/01/2013 08:35

Right I'm back.

I've just put back on 2lbs. Haven't weighed myself for about 3 weeks, although it's also the time of the month so it may just be that.

I'm power1969 on mfp.

lunar1 · 02/01/2013 09:56

Well managed a good healthy breakfast, I wonder how I'm going to add 2 hrs of soft play hell with a ds1&2 to my exercise diary today, it must count for something!

Morning everyone!! Blimey, lots of newbies here - hello and welcome. Feel free to add me on mfp - usually log in every day (except when I am too hungover and then forget to log in and loses 365 day count Blush). Same user name as here. :o

Melissakitkat · 02/01/2013 10:13

Hello, can I join please. Have been doing ivf for the past 2 years (unsuccessfully) and each time have put on half a stone so need to lose 3 stone at least :0( so am starting with mfp and hoping to start running next week once daughter is back at school. 2013 is going to be my time for claiming my old body back!!!! :0) have also ordered that shred DVD - so am trying everything as tried sw and ww last year but weight seemed to sit at the 13stone mark. Would be great to meet some more people on mfp - very excited by how it seems to work xxx

MackerelOfFact · 02/01/2013 10:56

Hello all and happy new year! I finally dared to step on the scales this morning and the Christmas damage is half a stone. Blush

Great to see so many new names. I'm back on the wagon as of today and have another 2 stone to lose, I think. Thankfully my body is crying out for healthy things after the assault of chocolate, cheese, crisps, biscuits and alcohol over the past few weeks so it shouldn't be too bad.

I'd like to have the last bit off my May, which will hopefully mean 5 stone lost in a year. :)

LollipopViolet · 02/01/2013 10:59

Helloooo! Been back on MFP for 5 days now after a few months away (realized it was taking over a little bit!) and filled with a new determination. Two very good friends are getting married in March, and I'd like to be a size 14/top end of size 12 by then.

BoraBora · 02/01/2013 11:44

Ello everyone!

Pleae do all add me - don't ever seem to have time to fire up the laptop with my 9 week old!

OneTwoOrThree · 02/01/2013 13:13

Fell off the wagon in Sept with only about 9lb to lose. Back on it yesterday and now have 1st9lb to lose.

I've got the same name on MFP if anyone wants to add me.

jchocchip · 02/01/2013 20:01

Hello everyone. I'm logging at the mo, but going to cut out all the rubbish and eat healthy ie no chocolate from next week...

BehindLockNumberNine · 02/01/2013 20:05

'Tis me, petd on mfp.
Am starting again on the 7th, when I am back at work. Needed some time out, was resenting logging, had other stuff going on, it became too hard. But will be back with a vengeance next week.

Hope you are all well and had a good Christmas and New Year Smile

HeffalumpsAndWoozles · 02/01/2013 20:28

Just accidentally posted on the wrong thread Blush

Was wondering if there's a way MFP can take into account if you are bf as I've stuck to my calorie allowance today but feeling really quite dizzy and sick, then it occurred to me I should probably not be ignoring that I'm ebf my 3 month old but I don't know how to adjust it, anyone else know?

I've been very good today and actually enjoyed my food too which surprised me. Swapped the coke for water too which is probably half my problem!

Thanks to everyone who has added me, I'll try and get round to adding everyone else soon too :)

cinnamongreyhound · 02/01/2013 20:29

Welcome to all the new ladies and welcome back to all the returning ladies, I remember you all! For those that don't know I've been on mfp for getting on for a year. I lost 5st 10 from nov-July and am now maintaining. Took the plunge to stop logging in November and so far doing well have gained 3lb over Christmas but that will be off once I get back to school runs. Feel free to add me I try to pop in and support where I can, mfp really works :)

Wow cinnamon that's a fantastic weight loss, really inspiring!

BoraBora · 02/01/2013 21:13

Hey Heffa, I'm EBF too Smile how old's your DC?

If you search for breastfeeding it comes up and you can log it. It adds an extra 500 cals to your diary. Yay!

BoraBora · 02/01/2013 21:13

Just seen that you said 3m earlier. I've got a 9 week old DD.

OneTwoOrThree · 02/01/2013 21:36

Aaahhh, petd / locknumbernine - I think our absences sabbaticals must have been at the same time! As far as I'm concerned you've never been away!

It's the end of day 2 for me, and after some earlier musings about trying something radical (ie lo carb etc) to kick start the diet, I got to lunchtime and realised that I don't want to do something that extreme. So I'm sticking with calorie counting only.

It's going to be harder this time for me, as when I was last here I was exclusively breastfeeding, so ate an extra 500 cals a day and still had good losses. My baby is now 9 months and I'm down to two breastfeeds a day (first thing and last thing) although he often isn't that interested in his bedtime feed strange baby. MFP says that feeing a 9-12month old or an older baby earns 200 calories a day - hopefully that's true! A weird part of me thought about expressing and dumping milk just to earn extra calories, but that's clearly insane

So, I'm back. I've 1st 9lb to lose (having somehow ahem gained a stone during my sabbatical. The baby will be 1 at the start of April and I'd love to have lost it all at least 1st by then.

cinnamongreyhound · 02/01/2013 21:47

I bf both of mine OneTwoOrThree and gained weight with every feed they dropped! I loved ebf, I ate sooooo much chocolate and didn't gain any weight. Having lost weight in both pregnancies I thought it was great. 200 sounds quite a lot for 2 feeds but you'll have to see how you get on :)

Managed to keep under my calories today, not got much done in the way of exercise though! Its nice having people to share this with. Every time I have thought of eating something I thought about how much it would add to my calories.

I have only ever tried to lose weight alone before, I'm hoping this will motivate me to last more than a weekSmile

BehindLockNumberNine · 02/01/2013 22:25

Hello OneTwoorThree I think we were also always a day or so behind each other on the day-counter thingimijig werent' we?
Well done on starting already. I am still on holiday until the 7th (work in a primary school) and there is still a lot of chocolate to scoff so I am still having a few indulgent days (there is some Baileys left which needs finishing Wink )

Will be back in earnest on Monday! Strangely looking forward to it Smile
