Youcanringmybell · 30/08/2012 16:08

This is a thread for those who are pig sick of over eating and binging and have decided enough is enough.

There will be no excuses on this thread...no 'oh but I was due my period' or 'oh but it was left over so I finished it' etc

IF you need to have a nice meal as part of a celebration DO IT but no more excuses - have the meal and move on.

This is a thread for the brave.....this is a thread for the serious. Join at your peril.....

Monday mornings are weigh in - so that we cannot binge on the weekends. I am deliberately being hard on myself and if you want to do it to please join. Even if someone wafts wine and banoffee pie under my nose I will not have it - even if the world is going to end I WILL NOT HAVE IT

weigh in Monday morning and post here

Oh and drink some wine and eat some choc while you still can because on Monday you will be in hell Angry

Oh bollocks schnarkle I have been rendered blind by all the hard thinking I have had to do today, you are way lighter than me! Sorry.

FermezLaBouche · 03/09/2012 17:27

Annoyed I don't own scales! If budget allows it I shall get some ASAP. I don't know which is scarier actually - looking at bank balance or looking at scale dial.

Job was fantastic today - all the other teachers are supportive and lovely and the TAs so helpful. No bitching, no snidey comments as per my last place of work. SO with that positive start in mind I have bought NO WINE, not even one of those little diddy bottles. I am having some of yesterday's chicken with new potatoes, broccoli and baby sweetcorn. There will be NO PICKING at the chicken remaining.

LAter when less knackered I'm gonig to mix up a wholemeal bread mix I've got and make some rolls. I nice chicken roll for lunch tomorrow will go down a treat. The soup was ok today but after 6 weeks grazing and pickng all day long I was BLOODY hungry!

WELL DONE EVERYONE WE HAVE STARTED FANTASTICALLY!

LetLoveRule · 03/09/2012 17:31

Well done everyone so far! This is my usual 'crunch time' when it usually all falls apart. Not today. Have planned my dinner and counted it on Mfp so looking forward to that.

buggyRunner · 03/09/2012 17:34

sounds like a good start has been made. it's going to be tough tonight but either eat healthy or go to bed-

NO WINE
NO CHOC
NO SHIT

unless we want to leave dents in the settee we have to leave the crap food

Youcanringmybell · 03/09/2012 17:35

Hey Friends (I think I can call you that now...it feels rightSmile)

Gather round......

You are doing wonderfully. The first day is almost done but we are approaching the HELLISH part of the day.

THE EVENING SNACKER dreads a diet... THE EVENING SNACKER can SNAP in the evenings, toss in the towel and just fucking eat EVERYTHING.

Today is different my lovelies. Let the kitchen tempt you but then give it the 'V' sign and make a cuppa and get a piece of fruit or 100cal snack.

You are no longer a Snacker. This Little Picker refuses to wear Bigger Knickers.

I wish you luck for this evening - may the force be with you.

Yep the evening times are lethal for me. NOT TONIGHT. I will sit on my bloody hands or duct tape them to my sides so glamorous if I have to.

Tschiffely · 03/09/2012 18:21

I resisted fish and chips, well, bar a few chips!! Grin.

Tortoise · 03/09/2012 19:11

Evenings are worst time for me too.
I have a tin of fruit cocktail if I really need something.
Dinner was sausage hotpot. 3 sausages instead of my normal 4 or 5! Less mash than normal and extra carrot.
Comfortably full rather than stuffed to the max!

I haven't had choc (other than dark choc chips on tracker) or crisps today. A major achievement for me!

kaytola · 03/09/2012 19:18

I've got a jar of picked onions on standby in case I get the munchies this evening.

So far I've had a healthy breakfast, pasta for dinner, jacket spud and beans for tea....a virtuous day for me!

Evening bad time for me too. When I got home tonight I had a glass of water and an apple, instead of my usual biscuits and other rubbish.
Tuna pasta and salad for tea, no garlic bread and no cheesecake for pud!!

greedycow · 03/09/2012 19:34

Hi, I'd love to join in. I have every excuse under the sun for not losing weight, have changed my nickname to reflect my current attitude to food, and am hoping for plenty of motivation to help me change it.

I weighed in this morning at 11st 6.5lbs. Which is quite chunky for my nearly 5'2". Most of my clothes either don't fit, or are very uncomfortable. My aim over the next few weeks is to get under 11 stone, and cut down the amount of bread and pasta I eat. My health is not too good, I am middle-aged, menopausal, with problem knees and feet which I hope will improve if I lose a few pounds.

I recently bought the Hairy Bikers book, so am planning most of my meals from there. Off for a soak in the bath to avoid temptation whilst I read it.

Youcanringmybell · 03/09/2012 20:29

Well done ladies...the evening is almost done. When you wake you can eat breakfast !!

It will be a treat for me to go to bed and not feel uncomfortably full.

FermezLaBouche · 03/09/2012 20:33

Well, I am feeling highly virtuous as have spent the evening doing some work and NOT snacking/drinking wine. Thing is, as soon as I let wine pass my lips on a weekday evening I won't get a scrap of work done.

Going to make my chicken roll for lunch tomorrow then bog off to bed, I think.

Must remember to buy diet coke orange juice tomorrow as a snack substitute.

jeansdoneupwitharubberband · 03/09/2012 20:40

forgot to type it in and make it official this morning.... starting at 10st 12 lbs this morn, need to be down to 9st 7lbs by before christmas. done. Ive done well so far, evenings are the worst however.... re some of the comments so far re breakfast, DONT have belvita biscuits, the cals are low but check out the fat content!!!! plus they are very carby so they will make you crave more in an hour or so's time. I have been having poached eggs and turkey bacon, pretty low fat and all protein so it doesnt leave you craving more later in the morning. I guess its all about finding something you like thats healthy, easier said than done, half a banana on a slice of wholemeal toast is also pretty filling and healthy ( and rather nice imo anyway) i think that making yourself eat things youre not keen on is setting yourself up for failure. keep posting recipes and ideas of different things to try!!!!! one day done ladies......

cocoaGOLDchannel · 03/09/2012 20:44

Just enjoying one of DD's chocolate mini milks. 30 cals well spent.

Pickled onions a great idea Kaytola. I have a jar of mini silver skin ones which can't be many calories.

I'm doing MFP...

Goldidi · 03/09/2012 21:11

Hi all. I weighed in at 15stone exactly this morning :(. Have been at work all day then dealing with dcs, cooking dinner, etc so only just managing to post.

I'm looking at LetLoveRule, Clompy, oneandnomore and ParaOlympicPark for comparisons as you seem closest to my starting weight. I think you might lose it a bit quicker than me though as I have pcos which means (according to the doctor, not just me making excuses Wink) weight goes on easily but comes off more slowly. I'm not sure how my hormones are at the minute so we'll just have to see how I get on.

Fermez you don't really need scales to show you how you are doing. Last time I lost weight I didn't weigh myself the whole time, I just went by how I felt and how my clothes looked on me. I have no idea how much I lost but I know I went down 3 jeans sizes, felt much fitter and generally felt great! If you really want to weigh yourself but can't afford scales, do you have anyone you could visit who has scales in their bathroom? Or you could always go and weigh yourself on one of those public ones that cost about 50p in Boots. Glad your first day went well, it makes a massive difference being in a nice, supportive, friendly school.

So I had INSET today with food provided at lunch. I resisted biscuits at break, then had quiche (no chips :)) and salad for lunch. I did have the chocolate cake but that will be my treat for the week so I'm not beating myself up over it. Then veg curry with boiled rice for dinner, cooked by dp so even nicer Grin. I've even done some exercise Shock, namely shifting massive piles of books around at school trying to sort out which textbooks I need this year and which ones can go back in the cupboard for other people to use, and then when I got home dd2 chased me round the house for about 20 minutes, I know she's not particularly fast as she's only 2 but I was breathing really hard by the end of it.

xpost Fermez I can't believe you are going to bed already, this is me just starting with my school work Shock. I will be a couple of hours I think, so maybe 11pm can be bedtime (possibly 11:30 by the time I've done the minor tidying I need to before bed)

jeans I love banana on toast and I'd forgotten about it Shock Thanks for reminding me :) Guess what I'm having for breakfast tomorrow.

Tortoise · 03/09/2012 21:22

Small slip up tonight. Made cherry and almond madeira cake for DDs lunch boxes and it just smelt so good Blush.
Had half a can of fruit cocktail too.
Still better than normal.

And yes youcanringmybell defo friends!

KampaKat · 03/09/2012 21:41

Buggerations! I forgot to weigh myself this morning - overslept due to paralympic day out yesterday. Neeeeeed sleeeeeep!!!

I have just weighed and I am 10 stone 11.

I have lost a stone since DD appeared on the scene over a year ago but I was under 10 stone when she was conceived. My aim is to be 9 stone 7 - although we are TTC#2 but if successful I am determined not to use that as an excuse to eat!!

I have been not too bad today, didn't have breakfast because I ran out of time. Lunch at 2pm was a cheddar and marmite muffin which was mostly eaten by my 1yo DD followed by the end slightly stale slice of lemon loaf, which again my DD snaffled most off.

Dinner was a homemade pasta bol, but I had a teeny portion and I am now sipping a can of diet coke which I know is really bad but it will stop me from raiding the ice cream!

I am on my feet all morning at work and then racing around after DD the rest of the day so currently do not have a huge amount of time for 'real' exercise (that is an excuse you are quite right - I am rubbish at exercising!) so I am concentrating on simply eating less to begin with...

Jeansdoneupwitharubberband & buggyrunner I think you are closest to me so I will be following you and feel guilty everytime you tell us you have exercised!!

Wishing everyone the very best of luck - willpower and NO CHEESE!!!

Tortoise · 03/09/2012 22:05

I am ready to take my punishment!!
