The NO EXCUSES, Now or NEVER slimming thread

Youcanringmybell · 30/08/2012 16:08

This is a thread for those who are pig sick of over eating and binging and have decided enough is enough.

There will be no excuses on this thread...no 'oh but I was due my period' or 'oh but it was left over so I finished it' etc

IF you need to have a nice meal as part of a celebration DO IT but no more excuses - have the meal and move on.

This is a thread for the brave.....this is a thread for the serious. Join at your peril.....

Monday mornings are weigh in - so that we cannot binge on the weekends. I am deliberately being hard on myself and if you want to do it to please join. Even if someone wafts wine and banoffee pie under my nose I will not have it - even if the world is going to end I WILL NOT HAVE IT

weigh in Monday morning and post here

Oh and drink some wine and eat some choc while you still can because on Monday you will be in hell Angry

Morning all GOOD TO SEE YOU!!!

I weigh 192.2 lbs. FUCK KING HELL!!!

Now is time to kick some butt. WELL done for facing up to your weights and doing something about them.

I expect our ANGER at our own weights will be enough to carry us through this first week that's for sure.

REMEMBER NO EXCUSES to eat that extra snack bar or portion of dinner
HUNGER is NOT an excuse to over eat.
HUNGER IS YOUR FRIEND for now - it will mean our stomachs will be shrinking to normal eating eating habits.
EAT how you think a SLIM person eats.

WE WILL NEVER BE THIS BIG AGAIN
Thanks

Morning all.
I weigh in at a huge 16st 10 Sad.

Fermez breakfast make me feel really sick too. I can't have anything milky in the morning and I got fed up with toast. Now have cereal bars as they are the only thing I can eat in the morning.
Not very healthy though and 1 tracker isn't enough, they are so small. So breakfast is going to be my only bad meal a day! (or I will have to starve!)

ParaOlympicpark · 03/09/2012 07:44

Good advice!
Am clocking in at 14. 10 which frankly is unacceptable so off we gooooo!!!
Good luck everyone

Youcanringmybell · 03/09/2012 07:48

tortoise - Tracker bars are teeny...have you thought about getting some belvita breakfast biscuits? Much more filling and not too bad. Short of that try s nutrigrain bar and some fruit.

ImCoveredInBeeeees · 03/09/2012 07:48

Good morning everyone.

12 st 13 lb this morning. Sigh.

Still, onwards and upwards. (or downwards, in the scales' case!)

Tortoise · 03/09/2012 07:55

Thought about it but not actually bought any as they aren't as cheap. I can get trackers or brunch bars in 99p shop. I did try some Nutrigrain type bars from there too but didn't like them.
I'm rubbish with fruit but am going to try harder. Love bananas but they give me acid!

buggyRunner · 03/09/2012 07:57

as a good snack / biscuit substitute I like a few bran flakes in a cup and eat 1 by 1 dipping them in my tea. sorts out my post lunch slump

Youcanringmybell · 03/09/2012 07:59

Tesco have the belvita breakfast biscuits half price maybe - time to stock up....
Just trying to get you away from chocolately things.

In fact I think Tesco have brought out their own breakfast biscuits.

Typical lol. Tesco delivery booked for today and too late to amend the order. I will try and get some to try but won't be this week.

cantmakecarrotcake · 03/09/2012 08:07

Morning ladies. Good to see everyone weighing in.

On a relative basis i was quite pleased with what the scales said this morning having lost 2kg/4ish lb in the last 2 weeks. Smile I'm still way bigger than I want to be though so I need to keep at it.

Today I was 75kg/165lb/11st 11lb

It's a long way from 11st and even further away from 10st... Sad

cantmakecarrotcake · 03/09/2012 08:11

Tortoise have you tried dry breakfast cereal? Shreddies are quite good on their own (DD sometimes has them as a snack).

Tortoise · 03/09/2012 08:14

Only frosties lol. They weren't too bad but still not very healthy. I'm so crap with food. That's why I normally give up but but this time!

Tortoise · 03/09/2012 08:14

But not this time*

TCforTopCat · 03/09/2012 08:15

I have been inspired by this thread. I would like to sign in
12st 5lb

Going to buy a punnet of grapes and get freezing for those sweet cravings instead of TOO much chocolate.

Youcanringmybell · 03/09/2012 08:16

carrot - Well done. No need to concern yourself with how far away 10st is. You will NOT need to go back to your old eating habits so 10st will find you.
I am over 3st away from 10st. BUT I DON'T CARE because we no longer have a CHOICE.

We no longer eat fat foods or stuff ourselves. Three meals a day. FOOD MAKES US FEEL WORSE not BETTER.

TAKE EACH DAY AS A CHALLENGE and a VICTORY!!!

Clompy · 03/09/2012 08:32

14st11lb Angry my biggest by far. So tea without sugar, candrel instead.going to watch last episode of hairy dieters, if they can do it, I surely can too. Pick up my exercise. Enjoy my last day with my baby girl before she starts school tomorrow. ttfn

buggyRunner · 03/09/2012 08:33

tortoise trackers are the work of the devil, what sort of food do you eat normally for other meals? do you like nuts? a hand full of nuts will give you more energy and fill you up more

I'd class trackers like a Kitkat (choc bar) to be honest. they are Carmel and choc sk yummy but so tiny you must eat 3!

Youcanringmybell · 03/09/2012 08:42

I agree buggy - trackers are not cereal bars per se.

Clompy I said the same thing. If the sodding HAIRY BIKERS can lose weight we can Grin

If I pick up on things people are posting please do not be offended. I am trying to be a motivating force and pick up on some of the excuses that I MYSELF use when I want to excuse eating something I shouldn't.

MOVE ON from your old eating habits everyone. Today is the beginning of a new life and tomorrow YOU WILL BE LIGHTER Smile

Tortoise · 03/09/2012 09:08

Buggyrunner I know they aren't good. I eat 2 sometimes 3. Or 2 hazelnut brunch bars.
I don't like nuts on their own, only in bars. I've got more and more fussy lately. I don't enjoy food generally. Can easily go all day without eating if I'm not at home. Then scoff loads of crap ie choc, crisps, chips etc when I get home.

Having sausage hotpot tonight done in slow cooker. Will have a smaller portion.

cocoachannel · 03/09/2012 09:19

Hi everyone. I'm in. Currently 12 stone; I'd like to lose 2 stone. Ideally as much as possible off by a friend's wedding early in November, swiftly followed by a long weekend in New York with a group of friends- all three of the other women going are slim and gorgeous Envy

I usually eat well but it all goes wrong at weekends, which recently have been busy with weddings, Olympics, day trips with DD, all meaning bad food.

But my real trouble...Wine

My Dad has recently begun to lose weight inspired by the Hairy Bikers. I really recommend watching it on iPlayer.

ImCoveredInBeeeees · 03/09/2012 09:21

All you guys who struggle with breakfast - just to point out that you don't HAVE to eat breakfast in the morning. Part of my plan is to not eat until noon each day, so that I have a decent fasting period each day. I will still eat three meals a day, but pushed back lat er in the day.

There is still lots of research to be done in this area, but there is some evidence that eating fewer calories for breakfast leads to reduced calorie intake for the rest of the day, and so aids weight loss.

See here

Tschiffely · 03/09/2012 09:46

letloverule I have some SW type diet sheets etc if you want them, pm me.

Fermez good luck with the new job.

LetLoveRule · 03/09/2012 09:52

Thanks schiff, I think I'll give Mfp a go as I can track it on my phone - hopefully the constant reminder should help!!

I really feel more positive than I have done before. Kids are back to school tomorrow - cant wait to get in the pool. I work from home and I'm always 'too busy' to stop and exercise, but I am going to plan it into my week and catch up with work if needs be. Looking forward to lovely chilly autumnal walks too!

kaytola · 03/09/2012 10:17

Right, I've done the weight in and my starting weight is 15st 6lb Blush but on the positive side, it will be the last time I see those numbers when I step on the scales!

Had breakfast of toast with baked beans and mushrooms and I WILL NOT snack between meals. I'm back at work tomorrow so less chance of that happening.

Good luck everyone!

Tortoise · 03/09/2012 10:19

Im hungry all ready Sad
