The NO EXCUSES, Now or NEVER slimming thread

Youcanringmybell · 30/08/2012 16:08

This is a thread for those who are pig sick of over eating and binging and have decided enough is enough.

There will be no excuses on this thread...no 'oh but I was due my period' or 'oh but it was left over so I finished it' etc

IF you need to have a nice meal as part of a celebration DO IT but no more excuses - have the meal and move on.

This is a thread for the brave.....this is a thread for the serious. Join at your peril.....

Monday mornings are weigh in - so that we cannot binge on the weekends. I am deliberately being hard on myself and if you want to do it to please join. Even if someone wafts wine and banoffee pie under my nose I will not have it - even if the world is going to end I WILL NOT HAVE IT

weigh in Monday morning and post here

Oh and drink some wine and eat some choc while you still can because on Monday you will be in hell Angry

Morning all.

In terms of diet, yesterday was a write off. But in other news... I had a lovely date with man-from-home, he stayed over and I reckon we might try and make a go of it. We met a month or two before I left and liked each other, slept together once but it never took off as we were obviously aware I was going.

He is coming back up in a week or two and I am hoping we'll maybe talk about what's going on. I REALLY like him....

TheHumancatapult · 21/09/2012 08:49

Six

I'm craving macdobalds chilli chicken wrap and chips and once I lost 100lbs I'm bloody going to have one

cantmakecarrotcake · 21/09/2012 09:24

Morning all

I've been trying to catch up and write this post for about 1/2 hr, but DD has been insisting I repeatedly put a toddler-sized nappy on a jelly cat lamb that DH and I have named Minty (she'll be scarred for life)

Welcome to our newcomers. Can't remember who asked about people's approaches to weight loss but I'm basically cutting out the cakes/biscuits and cutting down my portion sizes. Progress is slow and steady mostly but because my general diet is healthy I don't feel the need for anything too drastic.

I watched that 'secret eater' program where these overweight families couldn't figure out why they were overweight. I knew exactly why I was but it took one particular photo of DH and I which was gorgeous above the neck and would otherwise have framed or something but from the shoulders down I looked like a fat lass and decided that was my threshold of needing to do something about it. So I joined this thread and kicked myself into gear.

Went to a friend's for dinner last night. I resisted the crisps and she'd cooked a lovely bean/veg chilli so all good until the slice of bakewell and custard and a choc. Could have been worse though.

fermez Shock You little minx.....Sounds so exciting!!!! Bugger diet details we need more info on your new man!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Human Please refrain from calling yourself a lard arse. You are a human being that has simply been eating too much. Hardly the CRIME of the century and by God you are doing brilliantly! I like your small targets...they are enough to make a difference and are achievable.

six chickens Have a nice lunch..not too bad and perhaps then just some soup and fruit for dinner tonight and all should be well. Have a fab day!

Resi How do you feel?? Did everything go well> Any handsome docs perchance.....?

Goonatic · 21/09/2012 11:04

Hi cookie I reckon I should lose about four stone too! I have managed six since we started two weeks ago so it is very motivational!!!

Youcanringmybell · 21/09/2012 11:32

Hi cookie! Welcome. You will fit right in here. And we have a laugh.
Goon - trying to find the tandori paste.. most of the problem is because I am on my own the moment I have been living off of ww meals and they are not the most flavoursome...

Thanks :-) some nice consultants which helps! Now at home relaxing with lots of codeine!

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 21/09/2012 12:09

Very sensible advice Human about setting a smaller target. I've not really "dieted" before so it's hard to give myself one. I do have a party on 1st December and I have some lovely size 14 outfits I'd like to wear that night (I squeeze into 16 at the moment). So I am aiming to to have shifted 20lbs by then. An extra motivation is an old school friend who I hate will be there.

Well done human, what an amazing achievement. How are you doing it?

Right, off to have a salad, then a walk to the shops (no bus today!) to buy healthy food for the weekend that whole family will eat.

Tortoise · 21/09/2012 12:12

How exciting Fermez. Even more motivation to lose weight so you can look and feel stunning for new man! Grin

And i've now forgotten who else said what!

I'm trying to get in a few hours work.
Had half a banana sandwich for breakfast and a naughty cherry and almond fairy cake earlier! Home made so not as bad as could be!
No idea what to have for lunch or diunner! But im really hungry today.

I have lost 8lob so far according to my weight watchers scales , and was away on holiday for one long weekend since i began so not toooo bad!
You are right when you all say its now or never i have put weight on over the years throguh 3 children and know if i dont lose it now ( im 47) i never will and i cant bear to be so big anymore
so need your support to get through my weight loss , im aiming for being what i want by next summer !

TheHumancatapult · 21/09/2012 12:50

Jonny

Will link after but I saw link on YouTube Arthur and ddp and thought wow

So joined their forum and asked how can I modify it as in a wheelchair and got loads of ideas and help from Diamond Dallas and his team .plus worked out some of my own modifications I do a mean 5 second press up by shoving small steps under my legs so all weight on my arms . Also sometimes leave legs on sofa so do that way So there supported not just dangling around
Plus followed his principles on the diet plan so kiss goodby to Gluten and sode don't mix carbs and protein . Cut right down on dairy to . Can't quite give up the Philli light of morning Or my coffeeBlush but is black no sugar
But gluten I gave up for month to try it and had weekend of and well let's say I'm going to be gluten free for quite done time

Motivation is holiday next year since I'm going need be dragged to my seat in flight chair and those things are a one arse cheek only even when slim

As for weight lot went on after the accident plus the steroids did not help

And truth I don't mind about lard arse I always say one advantage sitting all the time no one ever looks at it and can avoid the does my arse look big in this dilemma except for for mentioned flight chair my arse would swallow it Grin

Tortoise · 21/09/2012 12:53

Blushi just realised how many calories is in the smallish pizza i just made for DS. 900 cals!!!! I would've eaten one of these all to myself without a second thought, 3 weeks ago!

Tortoise · 21/09/2012 18:31

I don't know what to have for dinner. DDs and Dbro are having chips from chippy.
Ive got slight pains like i used to get before a gall stones attack but i had my gall bladder out a few years ago. Scared to eat in case it gets worse!

FedUpOfRain · 21/09/2012 19:46

tiggy I was looking at the calories of pizzas in my freezer yesterday I was shocked! That with a dollop of Mayo would be my daily intake of calories now Blush

JohnnyDeppsfuturewife · 21/09/2012 20:06

Glad to meet you mavis it's good to be able to chat to people in the same boat, I haven't told any of my rl friends about impending weight loss because they're all so skinny and seem to obsess when they put on two pounds. Didn't think they'd be able to help other than being patronising. Feeling guilty I said that, they're actually all lovely.

tortoise i feel your pain, I love savoury food so would find it hard to be with people eating chips. Hope you managed to find something tasty. I bought some sweet potatoes today but don't really know what to do with them. Will google later.

I had a difficult fourth day of new regime. Really struggled to not buy snacks today and am pleased I managed. Also felt hungry Sad

Two achievements.

  1. Made aubergine bakes in individual pie dishes. Mine was made up of layers of aubergines and tomato mix, made dh one with layers of ready made cheese sauce. Made so much of my healthy version I was able to freeze the individual bakes. Normally I'd make a ton of the stuff in one Pyrex dish and I'd eat three portions with lots of cheese.
  2. Made too much pasta for dc and threw it away. Normally I eat the leftovers and extra pasta. Didn't feel guilty about the waste, I wonder if the weight loss hypnosis app is working?

Hope this isn't too long, my first day of mn posting.

tiggy114 · 21/09/2012 20:30

Ooo johnny, sweer potatos are AMAZING! Just stick em in the oven to roast like a potato. Then scoop out the insides and eat with black pepper. Yum. They make great mash as well.
