The NO EXCUSES, Now or NEVER slimming thread

Youcanringmybell · 30/08/2012 16:08

This is a thread for those who are pig sick of over eating and binging and have decided enough is enough.

There will be no excuses on this thread...no 'oh but I was due my period' or 'oh but it was left over so I finished it' etc

IF you need to have a nice meal as part of a celebration DO IT but no more excuses - have the meal and move on.

This is a thread for the brave.....this is a thread for the serious. Join at your peril.....

Monday mornings are weigh in - so that we cannot binge on the weekends. I am deliberately being hard on myself and if you want to do it to please join. Even if someone wafts wine and banoffee pie under my nose I will not have it - even if the world is going to end I WILL NOT HAVE IT

weigh in Monday morning and post here

Oh and drink some wine and eat some choc while you still can because on Monday you will be in hell Angry

tiggy114 I quite like special k with berries, or if I have more time I will have a couple of boiled eggs which I find more filling.

I feel like the novelty is wearing off a bit now, must stay motivated!! On the plus side though, I found the 30 day shred noticeably easier today Smile

Youcanringmybell · 14/09/2012 15:16

I feel awful - you are all going on with it and I have fucked it all up!!

I NEED to get on this again. My husband leaves tomorrow. I START SUNDAY- FOOD IS GOING TO BE LAST ON MY LIST OF PRIORITIES.

I am fatter than ever now Sad Sad

ffs

Hello! Just having a coffee and a quiet 5 minutes (the joys of the wii babysitter Wink) and my new best choccy treat - Time Out single fingers - only 85 cals, less then a banana ffs! Yum!

tiggy114 · 14/09/2012 16:09

Off to the shop for time out fingers Wink

ICBINEG · 14/09/2012 16:42

hmmm so today I learned that lunch at work brought in and mostly consisting of fruit is easier not to stray from than the equivalent at home when I know where free chocolate can be found.

I also learned that even after 2.5 weeks of winning the will power battle you can fall off the wagon JUST LIKE THAT.

This just totally sucks...and I am on holiday next week...how the hell am I going to maintain this diet then

FuckityFuckFuck · 14/09/2012 16:51

Right, this thread has gone a little bit wobbly, so I am gonna take Youcan's usual stance for a minute if I may.

WE KNEW IT WAS GOING TO BE HARD and we are all now finding out how hard it really is.

Falling off the wagon is really easy, we have all done it many times over in our lives but THIS TIME WE WILL NOT GIVE IN

If we fall off, we pick ourselves up AND GET RIGHT BACK ON IT. One slip does not mean we have failed and is NOT an excuse to give up altogether

As you were ladies :o

FermezLaBouche · 14/09/2012 18:21

youcan I will stand next to you, if that's ok. I've been hiding off this thread as I've really fucked up this week and feel ashamed. xxx

Tortoise · 14/09/2012 18:41

resi I doubt he can even boil an egg! Youngest child and I don't think he's been allowed to grow up! I think it will be hard work but hopefully I can mold him into a more normal 18 yr old!

youcan You can do it. When dh gets back he won't recognise you!

letloverule Is a timeout as healthy as a banana. I thought we had a NO CRAP FOODS rule? Chocolate is BAD! Grin

I actually think I'm doing ok so far. Smile Nervous about Monday weigh in but excited too. Hope I get a good result.

Tortoise · 14/09/2012 18:48

Fermez Forget this week as a bad week and carry on afresh in the morning.
I need you all to stay strong along side me!

FermezLaBouche · 14/09/2012 18:56

:) Thanks Tortoise. I know what it is - I went SO spartan in week one that it was never going to be sustainable. Will re-think over the weekend. BTW have just discovered raw spinach leaves - heaven, they taste like the nuts I used to pick in the woods!

Youcanringmybell · 14/09/2012 18:59

Thank you fuckity for taking over my usual duties. I am like a little baby whining at the moment... But something I have discovered whilst stuffing my face .....I actually don't like chocolate now. I have over indulged so much I actually hate it.

fermez Thank you!! I will hold your hand if you hold mine!! A fresh wrath will be unleashed I can tell you!

everyone - this is a test. Your body is a FUCKING BITCH and it is making you pay. You are going to feel like you are DYING because you want to give in so bad.

But you won't. I for one would rather BE DEAD than feel like my body is not my own for the rest of my life, feeling out of control

Having eaten whatever I can for the last week...it ain't what it is cracked up to be.........I feel like shit.

Tortoise · 14/09/2012 19:00

Well good luck for next week Smile.

Meant to add, i noticed this morning that i can pull my jeans on WITHOUT undoing them!! Grin

FermezLaBouche · 14/09/2012 19:03

youcan It's weird isn't it?? You realise you've probably just been shoving stuff down your neck out of habit.

Right. We are BACK ON IT! The remaining portions of my lovely (if I say so) supper are in the fridge, NOT on the side where I can help myself to seconds and thirds. For company I have spinach leaves and my NEW IPAD!!!!!!! (Head gave us all one, I'm in love with it.)

Tortoise · 14/09/2012 19:58

Dinner was a WW ready meal and a pile of carrot, cauliflower and broccoli mix veg. Very tasy and filling. Smile Normally would have a ready meal with chips! Even though they have rice in. I'd have rice and chips. Blush

Goldidi · 14/09/2012 21:05

ONE BAD DAY/WEEK IS NOT THE END OF THE WORLD!!!!!
You can all start afresh tomorrow (or Sunday) and pull it back. This is a long term change so don't be so impatient! Your body did not get to this size in just a few weeks (mine took approx 10 years to get to this size, creeping up over the years with some yoyoing going on) so it will take more than just a few weeks to get it back to it's healthy size. Every day you eat healthily is a good thing.

I've been really healthy today (and yesterday too Grin). I've been wearing my pedometer and aim for 10000 steps a day as that's supposed to be a reasonable aim for weightloss. I'm up to 9547 steps today so I might have a couple of trips upstairs to put washing away, etc so it takes me up to the target. I went to the gym on Wed and will be going again tomorrow morning. I ran/walked for 30 mins and did 3km which I was rather pleased with, I wasn't quite so pleased with the look of being a red sweaty blotchy mess but no pain no gain. I am already finding that I can manage the 'run' segments easier (no more than 1min30 at a time though).

My meals have been healthy too, yesterday was banana on toast for breakfast, chicken sandwich and fruit for lunch and stir fry for dinner. Today was banana on toast for breakfast, then just fruit for lunch (because I had kids in detention and more came to ask for help so I only had 5 mins to grab lunch before afternoon lessons) and vegetable risotto for dinner. I'm feeling rather pleased with myself that I haven't been snacking and I haven't weighed myself since Monday either. The real test will be the weekend as that's when I normally end up eating loads of sweets and chocolate :(. Not this week!

Goldidi · 14/09/2012 21:09

Mrs3 SW is easy if you're doing it right. As long as you remove all visible fat from meat and don't use fat when cooking then it's pretty much all good (as long as you are cooking from scratch, ready meals and convenience food are a bit trickier)

Fermez I am very Envy of your IPAD from school. We have laptops but they are fairly big and slow.

Goonatic · 14/09/2012 21:27

Wow that is really cool ferm !
I had a tin of mushy peas for lunch, surprisingly filling!!! Made up for u with tea though, tandori chicken, rice and ome made vege curry. No naan. No poppadoms. No shit!

FuckityFuckFuck · 14/09/2012 22:28

All back from the quiz and bastard chip evening :)

According to mfp I am just under my target for the day (the exercise saved my bacon there) and we came second, beating my parents, anuts and uncles in the process :o

Going to celebrate with a nice early night (so very rock 'n' roll me:))

Tortoise · 14/09/2012 22:52

Well done Fuckity.
I should go to bed. Got to be up around 5am for my brothers arrival! Also need to tidy up this pig sty but can't be bothered lol!

Mrs3chins · 15/09/2012 00:19

Goldidi - I've been using that fry light stuff instead of oil and I've been removing all the fat that I can see. BUT.... I fell off the wagon big time tonight and the most annoying thing is, I didn't particularly want to fall off! I thought I'd cook a lovely slimming world meal of homemade beef burgers and home made chips with salad. Basically I f&@ked it right up and it all ended up in the bin and me in tears argh!! So what do I do?? Send the hubby to McDonald's as by that time I'm too hungry to cook anything else and wanted something comforting RIGHT NOW! And was it worth it? No it bloody well was not x

Tortoise · 15/09/2012 08:34

Morning all.
I've been up since 5am! Only had about 2 hours sleep thanks to the dog barking to go out at 3am!
My brother has arrived safely.
Breakfast was a special k bar and 1 piece of toast with lemon curd on. Haven't had lemon curd for ages. Only bought it to make jam tarts. Looks like it will be used by DD's too as they seem to like it.

FermezLaBouche · 15/09/2012 08:44

Aww I wanna go to pub quizzzz! Well done for coming second, sure your older relatives loved that :)

Had a couple of crumpets with olive spread and a coffee this morning and off to do a charity shops raid for some books as the sky is blue and Durham at this time of morning is quite frankly beautiful, as the "undesirables" haven't descended upon town yet. (kicks self for being snobby)

Yes the Ipad was a very unexpected treat. Not only have all 6 teachers got one, but she's ordered a set of twelve for whole class use. It was getting ridiuclous - the current laptops we have die in about 15 minutes. She must have been storing some money away in the budget to get it all replaced!

Right - face on and off out. Have a lovely Saturday, everyone!

Goldidi · 15/09/2012 09:23

Mrs3 it's ok, just count the syns in the McDonalds (don't faint, it will be a high syn count) and use that many fewer syns this week. You are allowed to have up to 15 syns a day (I usually go for 10 as this gives me a bit of leeway for fuck ups) What went wrong with the burgers and chips? I love SW chips me, think I'll have some for lunch.

Tortoise up at 5am Shock I really feel for you. I was up at 7 and thought that was bad for a Saturday morning (normally my lie in day but dd1 is going out for the day and needed to be dropped off)

Fermez Have fun looking for books in the charity shops. I love charity shop browsing but don't get much of a chance with toddler dd2 causing chaos.

FermezLaBouche · 15/09/2012 10:15

Well, I had a wander along the main Street but then decided to jump in my car to Tesco to buy....some scales! The good news is they were £4 - the bad news is they are BASTARDS.

Seriously, my first weigh in is utterly depressing - 19st 2lb. NO EXCUSES, I WILL LOSE SIX STONE IN ONE YEAR. And the worst thing is, I can feel that I've lost weight in the last 2 weeks. God knows what it would have been before..

Right. Tuna and spinach pasta for lunch, small portion of salmon en croute I made yesterday for dinner with steamed veg.
Off to do some energetic housework.

Goldidi · 15/09/2012 11:00

Fermez you can do it!!! 6 stones in a year is half a stone each month. Some months you'll lose quite a bit more than that I would expect (especially at the beginning) so it gives you plenty of scope for indulging occassionally (think Christmas and birthdays, not just weekends)
