Happy birthday for 2 days ago Blush biwi

Meg have you tried couch 2 5k? It's free you can download pod casts which tell you when to run and help keep you motivated. I'm currently a bit stalled on week 7 (25 minutes) because I've been suffering stitch but yesterday I managed the whole 25 without a stitch. In fact wondering if the low carb is helping with that as tummy isn't so bloated. I intended to do my first 5km park run on 15th.

Made excellent roast chicken last night! I've taken to cooking it in a pot so the juices stay in yesterday I put a couple of onions in the bottom when it was finished i took the chicken out and just reduced the juices to form a gravy.

fufulina, sorry to hear about sleep problems - absolutely killer. It's horrible trying to lose weight when you are shattered. What have you tried? I am a badass meanie with sleep - I wouldn't be alive now if I was sleeping with a 16 month old bfing 3 times a night, as you often read about on here.

I would like to record that I am now at my lowest weight since dd2 was born (not that I weighed myself soon after her birth as I couldn't face the horror). I am not pleased with this number per se (still look very fat, still have nothing to wear) but I am pleased that it is lower (by 1lb!) than it was 2 weeks ago, just before I went camping with friends (and ate rice, bread, and drank a lake of wine). I know it's been up and down, but I didn't weigh myself - on paper it just took me 2 weeks to lose 1lb. Phew, relieved to be on the downward trajectory again.

Last night I had a couple of lamb chops in that ginger, garlic, yoghurt, spices marinade in the Idiot-Proof book. I didn't have mint, so used coriander. It was delicious but looked strange and white.

BIWI · 01/09/2012 10:43

Thanks, hazchem!

Thegoddessblossom · 01/09/2012 11:24

Had leftover veg for breakfast and have had a babybel and a coffee with cream for a mid morning snack.

Am going to make the "fake shepherds pie" from the IPD cookbook tonight.

BIWI · 01/09/2012 11:32

Right. I have had a go at re-writing Bootcamp Rules. Because I've done them on Google Docs, I've expanded some of it a little bit. I think what I will do for each Bootcamp thread is simply put the rules up, without the paragraph of explanation, just as a reminder for everyone.

here is the link

Any feedback, as ever, is much appreciated.

WillieWaggledagger · 01/09/2012 12:04

Rules look fab, very clear.

Only thing I might add for clarity's sake in the first paragraph is "...then you shouldn't be hungry between meals." ?

halfthesize · 01/09/2012 12:21

Morning all

BIWI rules look great, thanks for doing themThanks

Had lovely dinner last night, chicken breast cooked in the oven with shallots, bacon and black pepper, then added cream at the end, served with sweed chips cooked in the oven with chilli and garlic - OMG it was scrummy.

Breakfast today was skipped and trying to decide what to do for lunch whilst sorting out clothes to go on EBAY.

BIWI · 01/09/2012 12:23

Good point, Willie.

emmak86 · 01/09/2012 12:44

Afternoon all,

Just a quickie as i havent caught up with lat nights and todays thread yet :/

NigellasGuest · 01/09/2012 12:51

rules look really clear to me, thank you BIWI

sybilfaulty · 01/09/2012 12:58

Rules look fab, BIWI. THanks for doing them and for leading us into the next bit. Do you have a start date in mind?

Feel a bit off the straight and narrow right now, think period related though. Just feel fat and bloated. Need more water I think. Just made a fab choc cake to take to our friends for supper tonight. What can I say to avoid eating it?

Have a great Saturday everyone.

MrsHerculePoirot · 01/09/2012 13:17

Agree - Rules look very clear!

BIWI good job with the rules... Very explanatory Smile

Whippoorwhill · 01/09/2012 13:47

Rules look great but wonder if you should mention good and bad fats alongside the 'fat doesn't make you fat' section.

SharonGless · 01/09/2012 16:54

Found you, hefty Sharon here. Am not ready to confess all yet but back on straight and narrow...in the morning Wink
How has everyone been doing?

vnmum · 01/09/2012 17:07

Hello all. I've not been on the thread since thursday so just caught up.
maggie i have also had funny pulling pains when i've been to the loo when on my period. I put it down to pressure from the mooncup but it could be hormone related i suppose.

I went to a bbq last night at friends who we haven't seen for a few months. They didn't know we were low carbing and had put in lots of effort to make us traditional dishes from their country which were carby unfortunately, including a very sweet pudding. In those circumstances i just went with the flow and ate it as it would have been rude not to. It was delicious but i bloated up so much it was really uncomfortable after only 30 mins of finishing eating. The cider might have had something to do with it but i only had 1 and a half. To me it proves that i have an issue with wheat and i discussed with DH this morning how i could not go back to eating that way and feeling like that again.

On a fast day today. I thought it would be hard after the carbs last night but it has not been too bad. I had a moment of feeling a bit sick and headachey around 1ish but it soon went and i wasn't hungry so presumed that was my glycogen gone and the switch over to fat. I have just had a protein shake at 4 and that is the first thing i've had all day.

I might see if i can get out for a run tomorrow seen as i've not done any exercise all week.

vnmum · 01/09/2012 17:17

Oh i also went shopping today and got some size 8 skinny jeans. So pleased, i have never bought size 8 before in my life. They are neat but i don't need a belt to hold them up like i did with my 10's. I love this WOE!

BIWI · 01/09/2012 17:56

Whippoorwhill - what did you have in mind that I should say?

RoryCeilingCat · 01/09/2012 17:58

Hello all, I've been LC since end of May, and have lost around 2 stone. I've found it okay until now, and haven't been hungry. The weather has changed in the last few days (live in Switzerland, was super-hot) and now it's cold & rainy and I'm starving! All I want is potatoes Sad

I'm resisting, but wondered if a) this was normal and b) how other low carbers coped? I'm going to buy pumpkins tomorrow to see if they hit the spot...

HumphreyCobbler · 01/09/2012 17:59

size 8!!!!

WOW

BIWI · 01/09/2012 17:59

Welcome back Sharon! We won't ask ...

sybil - I was thinking of starting The Little Black Dress Low Carb Bootcamp (TLBDLCB!) on Monday 1 October, and running it for 10 weeks this time. That would take us up to the end of the first week in December, and should allow people to lose anything from 7-20lbs, depending on how strict they are - but should be enough for all of us to get into that LBD!

hazchem · 01/09/2012 18:39

Rules look good! BIWI

Gutted I can't start LBD bootcamp with you all on the 1st. I'll aim to join from maybe the 7 or 14th depending on how tings are going with the move.

Well had a bit of a shocker of a day. Had cake! But choose gluten vegan chocolate so assuming it was made with coconut oil ect and have just had tea and had brought some burgers from Lidl not even thinking about what was in them then realised they had rice flour ect in them!

Tonight however is looking good. Small boy in bed asleep, OH at a stag do and new series of Dr WHO and all the fixings for a low carb hot choc.

Right quick tidy up after dinner in case the Dr calls and decides I need to be his new companion Grin

HumphreyCobbler · 01/09/2012 18:44

ooh, I am so up for LBD bootcamp. Last year I did shred every day from the first of Nov to Christmas eve. If I were to combine the two....

I think new bootcamp for me will be to give up cheese. I eat too much of it atm. I bet that is why my weightloss isn't as quick as it could be because I mostly stick to it all except the other night but I blame the rum

BIWI · 01/09/2012 18:53

I'm back to Bootcamp proper from Monday. I certainly do not intend to get on the scales! I will then have September to get me back into shape before LBD Bootcamp. I see this as my 'next push', as it were, to try and get myself down to 9 stones. I know I'm crap at giving up the wine at the weekend, so I'm going to switch to drinking rum and soda - something I drank a lot of re-discovered when we were on holiday. Yes, I will be drinking alcohol, but at least there won't be any carbs involved.

Indian takeaway tonight, which I'm looking forward to as my last treat. But I am really looking forward to being back in the zone.

PrincessSparkle86 · 01/09/2012 18:56

sharon welcome back :)

vnmum size 8 skinnies...very well done! be proud!!
