This is a thread for all those embarking on, continuing and returning to Sole Source type Diets.

For some of us, its the only way to go. As the saying goes "it works if you work it".

Chesty have u had a weigh in yet or is it tonight?

ChestyNutterStaringInTheWindow · 15/10/2012 21:15

Yes it was tonight elder.

Scales were playing up so 3lb first time I got on and 5lb the second time Hmm

Elderwand · 15/10/2012 21:41

Can you not reset the scales?

A loss is a loss, so well done

Xx

ChestyNutterStaringInTheWindow · 15/10/2012 22:55

They were switched off/reset between 1st and 2nd weigh.
Confused now but yes as long as weight is going down.

Prefer the 5lb tho Grin

laura4jasmine · 16/10/2012 08:12

Yeay, well done Chesty I would take either of those losses, you're doing great :)

Elderwand · 16/10/2012 20:27

Ok guys need some hand holding. Speaking to DH today and he was saying that we can't afford the £40 I spend each week when seeing my cd councillor, so Aibu to go tomorrow and say I can't attended any more because of finances?

Also feel worried that I will pile it all back on again. I'd ideally want to lose another stone by Christmas on dear :(

ChestyNutterStaringInTheWindow · 16/10/2012 20:52

Oh that's such a shame elder Sad

Is there nothing else you could save on to allow you to continue?

If you have to stop what about doing no carbs and low calorie?
Know it will be difficult without the counselling.

Elderwand · 16/10/2012 21:04

Well chesty, I only spend 5-10mins with my cd councillor, as my dd2 who is 2yrs is always jumping around the place! So straight in weigh, measure and collect food! - sounds like a recipeGrin

I suppose we could cut back a little, but then oh it's such a lot of money, and Christmas is coming up etc

Oh do I dare tell her or will I just continue to go- god this makes me sound like a child! What will DH think!

Obviously I sound quite neurotic from the above, it's because I'm hungry :)

Xx

ChestyNutterStaringInTheWindow · 16/10/2012 21:29

If you can't afford it and are comfortable with the decision just tell her....you psy her!

Do what's right for you Smile

Elderwand · 16/10/2012 21:43

Thanks chesty, will post tomorrow and let you know....

Xx

ChestyNutterStaringInTheWindow · 17/10/2012 10:08

Morning Elder.

What did you decide?

Elderwand · 17/10/2012 11:24

Ok so went today and got weighed - just lost a pound! :( but on the up side that's 22lbs in 7 weeks, so average 3lbs a week Grin

So have 6lbs to lose.

I spoke to cd councillor and I'm not going for 2 weeks, so will low carb and count calories until then, will return on Halloween and take from there, if I have lost the 6lbs then I will just try to maintain. hope that makes sense Hmm

Xx

ChestyNutterStaringInTheWindow · 17/10/2012 22:14

Glad you made a decision Elder.

You should still loose if you stuck to no carb?

Was reading about a man who's lost something like 56 pounds in 8 weeks...jealous!

Neiderau · 18/10/2012 08:29

Hi I am new to this forum and my children are not 'children' any longer,Confused but I was reading through a couple of threads regarding the CD.
I started this yesterday and need some serious hand holding over the next few days.
I ate a lot of carbohydrate so am struggling with already lack of energy, headache Sad. Although after drinking water this morning the headache has gone. Smile
Can anyone that has been on this diet let me know how long this lasts and whether anyone has experienced these symptoms throughout this diet.
I have just under 5 stone to loose and couldnt feel like this all the way through Sad. Thanks

Neiderau · 18/10/2012 08:33

also cant get a horrid taste out of my mouth, can I chew on sugar free gum Blush

IShallWearMidnight · 18/10/2012 08:55

headache should go within 4-5 days (it's probably a sugar/carb withdrawal thing). I've taken painkillers to get through it, plus PLENTY of water. There are some types of sugar free gum you can have, but I can't think offhand, there's a particular ingredient which isn't allowed I think. Hopefully someone will know. Your CD counsellor should be able to help as well.

I've had a bad blip these past few days and have put weight back on, but am not officially weighing this week. So back to the water, and get back on track for next Tuesday's weigh in.

ChestyNutterStaringInTheWindow · 18/10/2012 13:22

Hi

Headache etc usually goes after day 4 just your body getting into ketosis.

I'm on LL and aren't allowed gum but can have mouthwash and breath freshner.

Good luck.

Elderwand · 18/10/2012 20:05

Not doing well at all - 2 biscuits and chips Blush

ChestyNutterStaringInTheWindow · 18/10/2012 20:58

Elder! only biscuits your allowed are these BiscuitBiscuit

Sensible food choices is the toughest bit.

Hello, i have been enjoying your messages to one another for the last couple of evenings and have finally plucked up the courage to ask if i may join?? I have currently been doing sole source CD for 4 weeks, going great at the mo as have managed to lose 19lbs. When i joined, my target was to lose 4 stone so feel i am well on my way. Being in ketosis i dont feel hungry and some days have to force myself to have the 3 products. Im lucky that i really enjoy water so drinking 3/4 ltrs a day is easy. when i embarked on sole source it was originally to do for 2 weeks with the view to step up however here i am in my 5th week and thinking do i continue while i still feel so focused or do i step up to next level. im worried if i do will the weight loss slow down?? (am losing 3/4 lbs a week) I set myself a time scale to Christmas as wanted to enjoy the couple of days of festivities with the family, and thought if i hadnt managed to get to target for then i could always return after the holidays. Can anyone advise when is a good time to go up to next level , should i just stay on sole source?? Im worried if i allow myself real food it may make the dreaded cravings become unbearable and i will find it hard to stop at the 200 cals !! really appreciate some advise from you ole timers :)

ChestyNutterStaringInTheWindow · 18/10/2012 21:18

Hi evie I'm on lighterlife do can't help you with CD but depending how much you want to loose I'd stick with packs while you can. A slight taste of food for me would make it incredibly hard to get back into sticking to plan.

I too feel ok now I'm well In ketosis have moments but are more psychological hunger IYSWIM?

laura4jasmine · 19/10/2012 12:30

Hello everyone, has been a bit of a rough week (4 kids stuck in the house due to school hols & bad weather) so didn't want to bore you all with my low mood.
Have been doing ok diet wise and can feel my clothes aren't quite so neat. The down side is we are going on hols next week, so 1) I will miss weigh in on Mon, 2) How the heck will I stick to food packs?

Been feeling really focused and spent time this morn making my crisps for today and tom ...... couldn't do this without them!
Welcome evie and neid this is a great way to loose lots of weight fast and once you get past the first few days you feel great. Good luck on your journey.
elder big (((((hugs))))) this loosing weight business is so hard and I really feel for you. Sometimes I think I will be on one diet on another forever! I get what you mean about it being expensive (I'm doing LL and it's about £72 per week) but remember, you are the one in control as you are paying and if you can't do it for a while then don't.....just watch out for thos bickies :)

Elderwand · 19/10/2012 14:22

Thanks guys, doing well today, off to the gym tonight to work outHmm
Xx

Neiderau · 19/10/2012 17:36

thanks all, this is day three and feeling a bit better. Get highs and lows but at least I have got the weekend now to chill. Out for a meal tomorrow which was already booked, am going to just to stick to what CD recommended so hoping it wont interfere with my first week weigh in

TheHumancatapult · 21/10/2012 08:03
