This is a thread for all those embarking on, continuing and returning to Sole Source type Diets.

For some of us, its the only way to go. As the saying goes "it works if you work it".

Thankyou Smile

Feel crappy tonight nauseous, constipated and craving pizza!

Good luck for weigh in.

Elderwand · 10/10/2012 10:29

Lost another 3lb! Grin that's 21lbs in 6 weeks another 7lbs to go!

Xx

IShallWearMidnight · 10/10/2012 10:54

go Elderwand!

Chesty - how are you today? I found the constipation in the first couple of weeks hard (as it were Wink), but then after a while your body settles down into a once a week/couple of times a week routine. You can get fibre stuff to add to shakes which is supposed to help - I just drink more water and take paracetamol if it's really bad.

IShallWearMidnight · 10/10/2012 10:55

and i'm ignoring yesterday's lapse with chocolate AND crisps, and starting again today mainly because there is now no longer any chocolate in the house

ChestyNutterStaringInTheWindow · 10/10/2012 10:55

Well done elder that's great! Getting close to your goal Grin

TMI but have you had bowel issues? Constipated here Blush

ChestyNutterStaringInTheWindow · 10/10/2012 10:58

Cross post midnight

Is it dulcoease you can take?

Elderwand · 10/10/2012 11:39

Thanks chesty

Constipation has been an issue at times, so I use an micro lax enema every 2 weeks, which is better for me as stomach can't tolerate oral medicines such as lactulose, fybogel etc.

Drink plenty!

Xx

IShallWearMidnight · 10/10/2012 11:56

was thinking about this, this, or this kind of thing, presumably you can get similar in a health food shop. Never used any of them, so don't know how effective (or palatable) they are.

Elderwand · 10/10/2012 12:13

I shall, hmm depends, all seem to do the same thing, but adding it to shakes might be better, so could try the second one?

Xx

mumof3boys01 · 10/10/2012 14:49

Just wondered if I can re join was here at the beginning, started sole source this January lost 5 stone been maintaining for a while, need to still lose 8-9 stone more to get to my goal weight of 11-12 stone.Plan is to start sole source again and going to follow it till christmas, would rather tackle it in stages.Starting again on Monday, in a strange way looking forward to it,would love to be a size 18 by the time I stop again in December or to of least lost another 2-3 stone.

ChestyNutterStaringInTheWindow · 10/10/2012 16:43

Pull up a chair and a bottle of water Smile

Cream of onion soup pack for tea....has bits of onion to chew! It's the small things Grin

Elderwand · 10/10/2012 19:36

Good for you restarting mumof3, keep us posted on your first week, which IMHO is the hardest!

Will be thinking of Christmas dinner together!

Xxx

laura4jasmine · 11/10/2012 08:18

Hi can I creep back? Was on LL earlier in the year and have spectacularly fallen off the wagon and gained loads. I want to see how much I can loose by Christmas, I won't be anywhere near goal, but should be in a much better place.

Elderwand - did you know you can make crisps out of soup packs and they are lovely!

Hope you all have a great day :)

ChestyNutterStaringInTheWindow · 11/10/2012 10:24

Morning laura

Well done for not ignoring it for longer and doing something about it Smile

Am on a night shift tonight so won't get a rest from the hunger at bedtime.

laura4jasmine · 11/10/2012 17:55

Thanks chesty good luck with the night shift...I remember them well!

Elderwand · 11/10/2012 22:12

Chesty - Night shifts (shudders)

Ok so have scoffed 2 cheese strings and some tuna, also had half a banana and choc muffin- oh the shame! :(

Hope everyone else is coping better than me!

Xx

Did someone mention crips? :)

ChestyNutterStaringInTheWindow · 12/10/2012 08:17

Urgh I think I'm dying! Explosive bum, feel sick and dizzy.

Nights I hate you Angry

laura4jasmine · 14/10/2012 09:29

So, hasn't been the amazing 'stick to it 100%' start I hoped for! Been a dreadful week if I'm honest, but here I am about to start this week with renewed focus. Been up making enough crisps for 2 days so can nibble at them whenever it gets too much.

Elder make soup mix up with a little hot water (quite thick but still runny), spread a tsp on baking paper (not greaseproof) and microwave for about 1.5mins or untill they are dry and look like crisps. I usually do 4 on one piece of paper at a time and they're about the size of pringles. If you put them in a plastic tub with lid they will keep till tom (maybe longer, as if I'dlast longer lol).
Have to go to MIL today and she insists in serving up loads of goodies at tea time, have to pack a large bag of will power to take with me :) Hope you're all having a great weekend.

Elderwand · 14/10/2012 12:38

Thanks Laura, don't have any soup mix, but defo get some on wed, my weigh in day. Good luck today!!

Xx

ChestyNutterStaringInTheWindow · 14/10/2012 16:09

Wondered where everyone was Grin

Weigh day tommorow, seems to have come around quickly.

Elderwand · 14/10/2012 20:00

Good luck chesty for tomorrow! A top tip for celebrating your weight loss - yes you guessed it another pint of water Grin
Xx

ChestyNutterStaringInTheWindow · 14/10/2012 20:43

Gosh elder I cannot wait!

Day by day that's all I need to think about......

IShallWearMidnight · 15/10/2012 07:37

chesty - it should be getting a bit easier now. Hunger will start to be more habit rather than actual hunger. If not, have another pint of water Wink.

I went swimming yesterday (first exercise since April - haven't been well, still not sorted but I thought sod it, I'm doing it anyway) and ache all over, but provisionally I'm 3 pounds down this week so far. Lets see if I can do another pound before tomorrow's weigh in.

laura4jasmine · 15/10/2012 08:17

Morning! Good luck today chesty I'm sure you will have done great.

Had a mixed day yesterday, was 100% on plan, but boy was I hungry! Anyway, feeling motivated today so let's see how it goes.

ChestyNutterStaringInTheWindow · 15/10/2012 10:37

Its just getting past those first 4 days laura and then ketosis lessens the hunger I found.

Yes midnight it's more the psychological stuff. " everyone else is eating"
" it's going to take forever" etc thats getting me.

Nearly fell off wagon during the week after a night shift and hours sleep but went for a bath and back to bed.....very proud of self Grin
