The lovely Listmeister GetOrfMyLand is still poorly, so her spreadsheet duties have been passed on to FiddleDeFat, who has done a sterling job.

Share your results here, but post on the spreadsheet as well

As FiddleDeFat says, "just enter your weight (in pounds) in the column under the appropriate date. I've left it so anyone can edit it, so if any details in the white boxes are wrong, just change them. Don't touch the blue columns. "

Thinking thin thoughts for us all for tomorrow!

Have you ever done the Atkins Fat Fast BIWI?

You eat 1000cals for 3-5 days but 90% is fat.

I have never done it but apparently it is brilliant for getting back on track or breaking a stall.

You eat 5 'meals' of 200 cals. Meals are 1 oz Macadamias, 2 egg yolks with butter/mayo, 4 strips bacon, 2oz cream cheese etc. There are more ideas in the Atkins book.

BIWItheBold · 15/05/2012 10:42

Fat fast is really only intended for those who are not losing weight on 20gs of carbs at induction.

Most people who are reporting a 'stall' are people who aren't actually following the diet properly. You only have to read the threads here to see that!

Okay, I've carried forward last week's weight for anyone who has not yet weighed-in this week (but of course these can be updated at any point). This lets us see the totals at the bottom of the spreadsheet properly.

And the grand results so far are: a total of 43lbs lost this week with a total to date of 510lbs (36 stone 6lbs).

On average, we have each lost 0.5lbs this week, and 5.7lbs over the last 4 weeks which is 3.5% of our starting weights.

2bayumimum · 15/05/2012 12:32

BiWi, Black Farmer Sausages are wheat free and have just 1g of carbs per 100g, so am I right in presuming that this is good ? Both Tesco and Waitrose stock these btw and they are lovely !

OliviaLMumsnet · 15/05/2012 12:45

I am dreaming of a ham sarnie for lunch today.
but it's getting closer to 5lbs so I shall be good.

OliviaLMumsnet · 15/05/2012 13:04

Right, am going to a mates for coffee and haven't seen her for AGES so don't want to arrive empty handed.
what can I take for us to eat that is atkins friendlY?

WillieWaggledagger · 15/05/2012 13:14

posh cheese? homemade creamy dip? (with celery/cucumber crudités)

WillieWaggledagger · 15/05/2012 13:14

though to be fair both a bit weird with coffee!

OliviaLMumsnet · 15/05/2012 13:21

I know, -it's at 9.20 tomorrow am. Bit early for cheese...!Grin

NigellasGuest · 15/05/2012 13:41

A bunch of tulips. That would be a nice thing to give her, and if you get desperate you can eat the leaves!

BIWItheBold · 15/05/2012 15:03

2bayumimum - they would be perfect

Olivia - good luck in avoiding the biscuits.

88.4kg this morning. Going back in the right direction.

Off to go an update the Spreadsheet Of Awe.

BettyBathroom · 15/05/2012 17:12

Olivia Bring some posh coffee beans?

FavadiCacao · 15/05/2012 18:14

Thank you, BIWI. :)

I didn't realise I'd tried my own version a few years back when Atkins didn't work. The weight came off - at 450-550 calories a day I should hope so-but I'm not tempted this time yet
Looking at your menu you may have up to 800 cals there, which I suspect is too many for the 3DE (?). I remember eating only white fish and salmon, chicken breasts and eggs, basically a reduced version of a Scarsdale diet (the original).

I hope today has been easier.

2bayumimum · 15/05/2012 19:35

Great news on the sausage front thanks Biwi. Quick couple of Q's, Black Olives are these a yes or no on the 2 week bootcamp and possibily a strange question...chewing gum, am I ok having one piece a day - I suffer from car sickness (even when I drive sometimes ! ) and it stops me feeling sick ? I know its carby, but will limiting to one piece not affect ketosis....so crossing fingers ?

gothicmama · 15/05/2012 19:36

I can't get on spreadsheet from phone sorry I am 9 10 so maintaining

heartstart · 15/05/2012 21:41

I cannot tell you all how desperate I am for a milky drink...not something I usually hanker for. Think it's a combo of getting myself back in the LCD saddle/ketosis and feeling fed up sad for a number of reasons but I soooooooooo want one

BIWItheBold · 15/05/2012 21:57

2bay - Olives seem to be fine!

re chewing gum - can you get sugar-free stuff? Then the carb count will be low/negligible

Fava - I don't recall the 3DE being about being low calorie (although it seems obvious that it would be low cal). My thinking about it, is that if you take in too many carbs, then you will be replenishing your glycogen stores. Apparently with the 3DE you should lose 3-5lbs in the three days - which is, I believe, equivalent to the weight that the glycogen would account for. But I can't seem to find out anything that might confirm that!

OP posts:
FavadiCacao · 16/05/2012 08:24

BIWI- I know nothing about the 3DE, other than what I read in the link you posted. The calories are mentioned twice in that link: in the 'overview' (''less than 1000 calories per day) and in the 'potential health problems' (consuming only 500 calories per day)

I have just found this which describes the plan as it was in a low-carb forum and it looks similar to the one you describing.

survivingspring · 16/05/2012 09:27

heartstart - some of the Options drinks are 'lower' carb - 5.8g per serving. Would that help once in a while to keep the spirits up? Smile

teaandthorazine · 16/05/2012 10:10

Tbh, the Options drinks are low protein, low fat, and very high in carbs for what you get. Not a great choice on low-carb (imo).

What about coffee made with double cream? Or a protein shake?

BIWItheBold · 16/05/2012 11:04

NOT ON BOOTCAMP!

Your carbs must come from veg and salad.

Fava the Kimkins stuff is interesting, because it is very, very similar to the Carblife info - it's even called the 3 Day Challenge. But on the Carblife site, there was never any mention of calories.

I can see the reason behind it being zero/minimal carbs, but I'm less convinced about it being low fat - although if it does come from Kimkins, that would make sense, as she was pushing her plan as low fat as well as low carb.

Anyway, yesterday was:

B - 2 poached eggs, with a very small amount of ketchup
L - tin tuna, with small amount light salad cream and chopped, jarred Jalapenos
D - lean beef mince, fried with curry and chilli powder, shake of soy and worcestershire sauces, with shirataki noodles
no snacks and about 3.5 litres of water (and 3 cups of coffee Blush)

This morning, down to 10.2, so a loss of 1.25 lbs.

OP posts:
BIWItheBold · 16/05/2012 11:23

Last day of this today, thank goodness. (It is boring eating this way!)

B - 1 hard boiled egg mashed with small amount light salad cream
L - leftover mince/noodles
D - not sure yet
