The lovely Listmeister GetOrfMyLand is still poorly, so her spreadsheet duties have been passed on to FiddleDeFat, who has done a sterling job.

Share your results here, but post on the spreadsheet as well

As FiddleDeFat says, "just enter your weight (in pounds) in the column under the appropriate date. I've left it so anyone can edit it, so if any details in the white boxes are wrong, just change them. Don't touch the blue columns. "

Thinking thin thoughts for us all for tomorrow!

No change for me this week. I'm okay with that, this is week seven for me and I've lost a stone. Now if I can just keep that up for the rest of the year...

No loss for me this week but this is preferable to a gain. 12st 10 - have put it on spreadsheet.

Well done everyone! Am 2lbs down this week at 132, v surprised as clothes etc feel no looser? People are starting to comment that I've lost weight so it must be coming off somewhere.
Bit worried about amending the spreadsheet, hope it's ok and I havent ruined it made a mistake.

Have you got any cheese? You could have a small piece of that as a snack, which will alleviate those hunger pangs.

You shouldn't be hungry on this WOE (way of eating) - but if you are, then eat! (Just don't reach for the biscuits, obviously!)

Yay - am 2 lb down this week so very happy and 6lb altogether in 3 weeks. The clothes are starting to fit again which is great.

Also managed to go out to the pub for lunch yesterday without (too much) difficulty. A carvery is a good meal for low carbing without having to make a big deal of it to everyone else.

There are some really good losses on here Smile

I'm back this week! Had 2 weeks of travelling with work and completely reverted so immediately put back on the 5lb I lost.
I presume this first quick loss is mainly water anyway?

Back on bootcamp last week and down to 149 - will try to keep it up for 3 weeks in a row !

The first loss is a combination of water (which would be the case on any diet I believe) and the glycogen stores in your liver. Your body is transitioning from using carbs for fuel to using fat.

As you have discovered, Real Life can make this a difficult way of eating to commit to. But if you're in this for the long haul, then it's important to find ways that you can work around the situation that you might be in - weight gain is pretty quick if/when you drop off the wagon!

BIWI- I've never heard of the 3 day experiment, I'll be interested to know how it works. Tried googling with no real luck, could you suggest where to look, please? Thank you

It seems to have originated with the now-discredited kimkins - Google her and you should find reference to it.

I came across it on the Carblife website, but can't find it any more there, and archive searches haven't found it either.

It's also similar in some ways to Stillman's diet, although I think that wasn't time-limited.

I will see if I can find any more.

Well yesterday wasn't quite as I had planned it.

B - coffee, 2 boiled eggs
late morning - another coffee
L - tin tuna, with small amount of light salad cream and some chopped, jarred jalapenos (teaspoon)
s - crispy fried pancetta
D - chicken breast, stuffed with 1/4 ball mozzarella and jalapenos
water - 4.5 litres

According to the 'rules' of the 3DE, that was too much fat. I wasn't really thinking - eating fat too engrained now!

And interestingly, no movement on the scales at all this morning.

I'll keep the fat lower today and see what happens. I'm amazed that I drank so much water yesterday, and it wasn't an effort at all. In fact, by the evening, when I'd already drunk 4 litres, I was still thirsty! (although pancetta is salty, so that could explain some of it).

Breakfast today was 2 poached eggs. Probably another tin of tuna for lunch - not sure about dinner yet. DH and DS2 are having sausages, so they will be a bit too carby for me.
