Can I join you, please? I joined SW last week as I'd weighed myself and realised I was heavier than I've ever been. I need to lose two stone. I managed to lose 2 1/2 pounds in my first week which I was pleased with so I'm just hoping I can keep going. I'm doing the Extra Easy and am finding the meals fine but struggling a bit with snacks. Apart from fruit, I'm just having Mullerlight yogurt or Alpen Lite bars and I can see me getting bored with those in a week or two. Any suggestions for good Syn-free or low Syn snacks?

whatkungfuthat · 27/04/2012 19:52

I think some Mugshots soups are free. A friend has Mattesons Fridge Raiders, they are 2.5 a bag or 1.5 for the tikka ones, I don't like the smell though. To be honest Mullerlights and fruit are what I mainly have to snack on, the toffee one is nice over sliced banana.

I made a couple of SW quiches today, one veggie and one veg and lean ham, they are quite good to keep in the fridge and have a slice if you feel hungry as they are free and full of superfree veg so you don't have to worry about the third superfree on your plate.

BellaOfTheBalls · 27/04/2012 21:53

The less than 1% fat mugshots are free.

Struggling tonight; had 13 of my 15 syns today and am seriously considering going to bed just to stop myself eating another tunnocks teacake...

mampam · 28/04/2012 16:45

kungfu a chap who joined SW about 2 weeks after I did (July 11) got his 5 stone award last week Smile Great for him but rather Blush for me as I've basically stayed the same for the last 5 months. Really need to pull my finger out!

03angels · 29/04/2012 14:55

Hi to all the new joiners- good luck in ur WIs this week :)

Iv had 2 very bad weeks, didn't even weigh myself last week and can't find my scales since moving- so I will be going to chemist tmoro to weigh myself before WI on tues. wish me luck hehe xx

whatkungfuthat · 29/04/2012 15:07

mampam at least you have stayed the same and not gained, you do need to be in the right mindset don't you? Thats why its taken so long after some false starts to get back into it.

angels are the scales at the chemist the ones that do a little print out? We used to have some of those in the chemist in sainsburys but not anymore. I really liked them. I'm using the wii as I can set targets as I go along.

Doing roast chicken today with flylight spuds and greens, will syn the stuffing and gravy. One thing we have been struggling with is packed lunch for DP as he likes to have ww toast and marmite in the morning. I read in the syns book last night that those mini chicken fillets from M&S are 0.5 syns a pack so we can syn the extra ww bread and he can take a sandwich with those. He has a family history of diabetes so he's trying to lose some weight in an attempt to dodge it.

BellaOfTheBalls · 29/04/2012 16:41

I also struggle with lunches. I try to make a big pan of soup at the start of the week so DP can take it to work. Usually whatever veg I've got in but I have been adding beans or lentils as they bulk it out and really fill you up - no 4pm snacking!

For myself I have soup, a large ham or chicken salad with a mug shot or leftovers from the night before!

whatkungfuthat · 29/04/2012 17:56

I make a sweet potato and corn soup with chilli sometimes. I'm going to make him some SW quiche for tomorrow but with lean ham, mushrooms and tomatoes (we are doing EE) and go shopping for some low point stuff he can take the rest of the week.

I was thinking of working out the WW PP of what I eat too, just to see if there is a huge difference.

MummyDoIt · 29/04/2012 18:32

I was thinking of trying some of the SW cake recipes made with Scan Bran. Anyone tried them? Are they ok or totally disgusting?

whatkungfuthat · 29/04/2012 19:40

When I used to go to group these were passed around but I was never tempted to try as they didn't look great

Blondeshavemorefun · 29/04/2012 20:53

BellaOfTheBalls · 30/04/2012 15:55

4lbs off for me this week. Grin Now just half a pound for my stone.

Been picking today though Blush had a couple of Cadbury heroes & a quarter of a berry muffin I made for the DC's. Angry

03angels · 30/04/2012 17:00

Well done bella Iv prob put that on Blush

whatkungfuthat · 30/04/2012 19:10

Well done Bella, thats brilliant Grin

MummyDoIt · 01/05/2012 17:30

I don't have my official WI till Thursday but I weighed myself at home this morning and I've lost nothing. Nothing at all! I've stuck religiously to the plan all week, I've eaten regular meals with plenty of fruit, veg and salad at every meal, not exceeded 12 syns, so I don't understand it. It's not a difference in scales as mine weigh exactly the same as the SW ones. I was hoping for a couple of pounds off this week but it's looking unlikely that I'll even lose one. So disappointed!

FlatCapAndAWhippet · 02/05/2012 05:47

Keep going Mummy, I thought I'd lost 1 lb but in actual fact, 4 lbs off for me this week. Grin

Yipeee.

03angels · 03/05/2012 09:08

Iv changed WI day to thurs and new SW class. I'm expecting at least a 4lb gain over last 2 weeks with no cooker Blush
Keep going mummy
Well done Flatcap

chelseababy · 03/05/2012 14:03

Hi- I'd like to join in too. I started on 1 May and lost 3.5 in first week. But how boring are the meetings! Do all groups just go round saying how much everyone has gained or lost? I thought they were supposed to inspire and not humiliate - hate it when they draw attention to someone who has gained - doesn't encourage you to stay. That said I find the diet itself good and the website helpful. Would love to hear if there any different activities at othe r meetings. Used to go to WW where we had really lively meetings - just got bored with PP!

03angels · 03/05/2012 21:29

Hi chelsea. Meetings are boring for me full stop! Lol Iv taken to just weighing in and leaving Blush

Tonight want better than expected I maintained - phew!!!!

Jeans how's you this week????

MummyDoIt · 03/05/2012 21:37

Well, official WI tonight and I've lost 1 1/2 pounds! I was really surprised as my home scales showed no change. I'm pleased but cautious. Today was a frantic day and I didn't manage to have any lunch so only ate Weetabix for breakfast and one Mullerlight yoghurt all day. Bad, I know! So part of this week's loss could just be because I was empty.

Chelsea, I never stay for the meetings. I don't have anyone to look after my DCs so I made it clear to the group leader that I'd be weighing in and leaving every week. Glad I've got the excuse really as I think hearing about other people's spectacular losses would demoralise me.

jeansforever · 03/05/2012 21:37

Well done everyone this week.
I think all the meetings are boring i too just get weighed and go using my 2 year old as my excuse lol!
That's great angels ,are you all sorted now then ? i have to say i'm a bit dissapointed this week as i've maintained and i've been good and worked my backside off in the gym so can't really figure it out!
