Thanks ladies for your kind wordsSmile, I've been a bit better this week and have lost 1.5lbs, I'm back in the 12st's but only just at 12st 13.5lbs, the hardest bit is going to be keeping that off and losing some more.

Glad to hear your good news tortoise, bet the blood test result is a weight of your mind, wow and 1/2 stone off as well so good news all roundSmile.

Glad to hear that you are heading back in the right direction Furball I'm sure that once the warmer weather comes it will become easier for us to lose the lardGrin

Well done cardi another kilo or so bites the dustGrin.

Tortoise · 08/03/2012 00:07

Waste of time losing weight when it just goes back on Sad and I haven't touched chocolate or crisps in 2 weeks. I've had cake a few times but no where near as.much as chocolate and crisps.
Having a down day. Bought a top in primark, size 20 and too tight. Only bought it because I have to go to DD2s school barn dance Friday night. Don't want to go, will be a huge blob flopping around if I join in dances which I'm sure DD will want!

Tortoise · 08/03/2012 21:10

This thread is too quiet lol.
I've given myself a swift kick up the bum, pigged out today and going to try and get back on track tomorrow. I've got 3 weeks to lose as much as possible before going on holiday for few days. Booked it tonight, now can't wait.

Smalline · 09/03/2012 19:01

Ooh where are you going Tortoise? maybe we should get back into the habit of jotting down what we are eating everyday, I know it's a bind, but sometimes it helps to highlight the fact that we are eating too much junk to keep on trackSmile, hope you had a better day today tortoise

cardibach · 09/03/2012 22:13

I have had a week from hell this week, so my doet and exercsie regime have been crap. I hope I still lose weight...

Tortoise · 10/03/2012 08:30

Small We are going to a caravan park close to Poole.Smile

Furball · 13/03/2012 11:57

hi Folks!

I've been awol diet wise again too. I don't know why, sun is shining and I feel like I should at least be making the effort. I even thought about a virtual gastric band! I need something that swells in my stomach so I don't feel like eating.

I have ordered 'susie orbach on eating' from amazon. the principles are like paul mckenna (whose book I have somewhere in the house) - eat when you are hungry and stop when you are full. easy isn't it......

Just had a tin of tomatoes on toast, very filling for little cost cal and fat wise (as no butter)

Tortoise · 13/03/2012 13:47

Hi furball. Hope the book helps you. Not sure would make a difference to me. I eat when I feel like it not when hungary, which is why I'm so rubbish dispute knowing it's wrong.

On the plus side I still haven't eaten crisps or chocolate.Smile And most days it hasn't bothered me at all. Probably eaten more cake and biscuits than before though! Fail lol!

Furball · 15/03/2012 08:50

still waiting for the book

I jumped on the scales this morning - 13st 8lb ok it was after breakfast but still.......

have written a meal plan for the week and MUST stick to it am off shopping for lots of fresh fruit and veg this morning

I can't believe how shit I am at this, I mean if I just got stuck in just for say 6 weeks I could lose nearly a stone, I can't even get going for 6 hours Blush

OP posts:
Tortoise · 15/03/2012 09:51

In my head I can do it. In my head I have great ideas of how and when I will do exercise. Even thought about doing the couch to 5k programme.
Then when it comes down to it, I do nothing. I eat without out thinking about it. Even considered looking into hypnotherapy! Just need a way to change my ways but I don't seem capable of doing that on my own.

Furball · 15/03/2012 15:41

Exactly my thoughts tortoise we all know on paper, but putting into practice.......well. I too have thought about hypnotherapy - thats what a virtual gastric band is - mentioned a few posts down.

but......intentions all well with me then fallen flat on me face as had a slice of raspberry cream roulade - which to be fair was so not worth the lard factor, should of just had a cuppa instead.

spag bol for tea.....

and me book has turned up, it's only 148 pages, so looks a quick read (which to be honest is probably better than being dragged into pages and pages of blurb.)

will let you know how it goes

OP posts:
Tortoise · 15/03/2012 20:19

It's weird though, I'm not missing crisps or chocolate and haven't eaten any for, what is it now? 3 weeks? So if I can do that, why can't I stop all fatty/sugary foods!

Smalline · 18/03/2012 16:09

Hi Ladies, Happy Mother's DayThanks

Nothing to report, over the last couple of weeks have stayed the same. I think my body is just waiting for the warm weather then it will start shedding the fatGrin. I did notice on Thursday when the weather was in the 20's that I just didn't fancy eating as much as I usually do, well that's my excuse anyway.

I've just come back from a spa weekend, was in the gym at 7.30 this morning followed by the hot tub in the middle of the forest, I have come back de-stressed but know that it won't last longGrin.

How are you doing cardi?

Tortoise · 18/03/2012 18:24

Sounds lovely small.

Happy mothers day to all.

I got a big box of chocolates that I can't eat until after lent!
And a headache!

Furball · 18/03/2012 21:14

Happy Mothers Day!

I seem to be going ok....although I did allow one small slice of homemade lemon drizzle cake.

other than that -lost 2 1/2 lbs since thursday! - fingers crossed i can keep it up......

all the best to everyone else for a nice loss

OP posts:
Furball · 21/03/2012 06:18

How is everyone?

I'm still sort of on track - I have succumbed to a few squares half a bar of chocolate, but other than that.....

I've also been spending at least an hour digging in the garden everyday whilst the weather has been so fab.

OP posts:
Smalline · 21/03/2012 18:16

Well I started off okay on Monday, yesterday was a bit of a write off, I was starving when I came home from work and just couldn't stop eatingBlush, have been good so far today, I'm off to the gym soon.

Sounds like you've had a good week Furball hope your loss is a good one.

Tortoise · 22/03/2012 12:23

Feeling positive today Smile.
Weight this morning 15st 11lbs. Goes up and down like a yoyo lol!
Been out and cut front lawn and done some digging. Will go back out soon and do a little more. Will attempt back lawn later! My worst nighmare and once i start, it will need doing at least once every 2 wks then once a week in summer!

Furball · 22/03/2012 14:55

Glad you are feeling positive tortoise - gardening is good especially when the weather is like this.

I bought some sushi today - my god it's gorgeous! - I've never had it before, but it's scrummy, I couldn't even leave some for dh and ds to try Blush

Steak and salad for tea [yum] - sunny food

OP posts:
Tortoise · 22/03/2012 20:30

Well, I did get half the back lawn done. It takes so long, I ran out of time!
Been in a really good mood today.

Furball · 28/03/2012 09:10

hello all - hows it going?

I'm trying - but not hard enough - am going away at the weekend and will probably have to don a swimsuit - lucky me!

Went for a lovely long walk yesterday

OP posts:
Smalline · 28/03/2012 16:18

well I lost 1lb this week so I am now 12st 12.5 lbs, I'm obviously not trying hard enough (says she tucking into some thai sweet chilli crisps, but it is part of my lunch). This weather is fab for diets, and I have been playing on the trampoline with the kids every day so far this weekSmile, and I'm off to the gym tonight, so I think I'm evenly balanced at the momentSmile.

How are you doing Tortoise?

Have a fab weekend Furball I'm a tiny bit EnvySmile.

Tortoise · 28/03/2012 22:16

I started reading Paul mckenna book last night. Done ok today. No biscuits or cake.
I'm going away Monday. I have nothing to wear that really fits nicely. I do have a new swim dress which I feel a lot better in. I tend to lose weight on holiday because I'm too busy to think about food!

Tortoise · 31/03/2012 16:21

Pre-holiday weight 15st 8 so lost 3 lbs since last weigh in!
Will weigh again after holiday.

Smalline · 10/04/2012 11:15

How are you Furball and Tortoise, hope you and families had a lovely Easter.

Good news to report this week ladies, for the first time since recording my weight on Mumsnet (that I can remember anyway), I've actually lost weight over the Easter holidays, usually I put on about 5-7lbs, well anyway I've lost 2.5lbsGrin taking me to 12st 10lbs GrinGrinGrin. So that is a total loss so far this year of half a stoneGrinGrin.
