Hello:)

I got back from our family holiday last week, uploaded our photo's and i had the shock of my life, what has happened to me! My DD got a bit snap happy with the camera and boy i could have cried:(

So i have decided to start the Dukan diet, been shopping, so all prepared (i think) got my target etc, but i am looking for any advice from people who have already done it, did you struggle, find it easy and have you reached your target? Any recipes? Anything really, i suppose i need a bit of motivation, as i have no will power and a huge chocoholic!!

My target weight lose, through the Dukan site is -34lbs, huge amount!

Thank you

Thanks for all the advice.
I start on Sat. I bought Canderel(sp?) sweetener. Is that ok?

prolificwillybreeder · 07/10/2011 17:49

Been looking at the Dukan Diet Cookbook: merguine? On a diet? On a PP day? Is that really correct? Really, really?

The Dukan toast and vanilla oat bran porridge look good though.

Ham- what ham are you all eating? Wafer thin, no added water?

Start tomorrow!

bananamam · 07/10/2011 18:19

Thanks moolie!!!

prolificwillybreeder · 07/10/2011 23:04

Merguine? Blooming auto correct! Meringue.

Fairyloo · 08/10/2011 11:22

Hey all

I need to get my fat ass back on track.

Starting attack today!

How are you all

Fairyloo · 08/10/2011 11:25

@banaman oh my god 5 stone that's amazing.
I lost 3 last year and found the same when I hot to 9 7 scales would not budge regardless of what I done. Not at 10 7 wished I had just stuck to it!!

bananamam · 09/10/2011 18:43

Well I have fallen off the wagon this weekend again...oops. Back on tomorrow along with a long walk With the kids should help. I have been having 10 cal soups instead of tea and it's a bit different but still a hot drink

Bakelitebelle · 21/10/2011 09:54

How are the Dukaners doing?

I've lost half a stone now - started three and a half weeks ago. DP has lost over a stone in the same time. Not fair!

Still, I'm delighted. Although I feel tired on protein only days and bored of the food, I can whiz up hills again and I keep being surprised at not being able to see my stomach poking out from behind my boobs when I look down.

DramaLdn · 28/10/2011 21:48

i would have never consider diet but i had a broken 2nd metatarsal bone and i can not exercise due to pain ... now i am in pasture cast! i pref method of keeping in shape is running ... i am a runner.

small confession to make: i did not followed too strict ... there plenty occasions when i have had alchool.... i knw i was bad but i enjoyed!

love the compliments that i am getting

AthenaB · 17/11/2011 09:22

I need some serious motivation.
Starting weight 15stones exactly
True weight: 11.7
I'm on my 4th day on the attack and have lost 6 pounds so far, I actually couldn't believe it!
But still have 3.1 to go :-(

I am no where near my true weight and am getting really down about it. I over indulged during both my pregnancies and am now paying for it. Any1 start at a similar weight?

susancottrell · 17/11/2011 10:36

I have gained weight after marriage and I am doing exercise daily for 30 minutes. if I continue to do daily, can I control my weight?

AthenaB · 17/11/2011 11:57

Exercise will always help to shift unwanted pounds. The Dukan book states that if you have let your diet slip then a 2-3 day attack will do the trick xXx

WentworthMillerMad · 17/11/2011 18:47

Hi Athena - i am on dukan. Starting weight was 12.7, true weight 10.8.
Today I weigh 11.3 so have lost 18lb so far!
9lb to go. Stick at it, you will drop a stone fairly quickly and then u will see light at end of tunnel! I know it can w dull but keep stepping on scales and u will be glad!

AthenaB · 17/11/2011 20:00

Wow how long did it take you to lose that much weight? I jog once a week and go to a Zumba class once a week as well so hopefully I'll lose the pounds quicker. Had friends over for dinner today and they found my plate of chicken hilarious compared to their curry with all the trimmings. Am proud of myself for not slipping up though. I'm hopin once my period stops I'll lose more weight too. I feel really tired.
What have you been eating for meals and snacks? XxX

WentworthMillerMad · 18/11/2011 18:50

Hi Athena - i started midoctober, not denying i am missing my wine.
The PV days are easy, the protein days are a struggle.

have my greek yoghurt in th am mixed with a WW yoghurt
lunch - smoked salmon, omlettes, ham, beef slices, tuna
dinner, roast chicken, tuna steaks with soy sauce and onion

i snack on fruit tea, ham, cottage cheese, ww cheese triangles, pickled onions, crab sticks.

weekends soooooooooooooooo much harder than the week but I want to weigh 10 st 8 for christmas so i must plod on!!!!

what your fave meals???

AthenaB · 20/11/2011 17:21

At the moment I'm still on the attack phase so all meals are just protein haha.
For dinner tonight I have 2 salmon fillets. I oven cook them in skimmed milk and season with lemon, pepper and lo salt, then cook for about 25 minutes. Soo yummy!! Lol.
Otherwise I over cook chicken with garlic or boil beef then drain it and quickly fry it in garlic and soy sauce.
Weighed myself today and have lost 8 pounds since Monday. Well chuffed!! Still got a looong way to go but hopefully I'll be in shorts for the summer :-)

WentworthMillerMad · 20/11/2011 19:17

Well done! You will be a stone down soon and it will get easier. Another booze free weekend, found it v hard. Keep imagining ice cold glasses of Sancerre - dribble dribble!
On a PV day so had eggs with toms and mush, tuna salad, chicken stir fry tonight. Another pound off though. Wish I didn't love food and drink so much!

AthenaB · 21/11/2011 06:27

I really miss Peach Archers with lemonade mmm and have only new on this diet for a week haha!
I'm actually excited about having vegetables again lol, quite sad! Am trying to do the attack stage for 10 days though.
Can you have fruit in the 2nd phase?
And well done on all your weight loss so far! XxX

lechatnoir · 21/11/2011 11:11

Hello can I join you guys? Day 1 of attack today and weighed in this morning at 12st10 with a true weightof 10stone (although I actually want to get under 10 stone so bang on 3 stone/42lbs to loseShock). Quitting smoking & 3 greedy pregnancies later here I am Blush

I'm doing 6 days of attack & should be fine for the first 5 but then meant to be taking the kids out to lunch on Saturday so need to find somewhere that can do PP - any ideas?
LCN

WentworthMillerMad · 21/11/2011 12:39

no fruit!! killer

welcome lechatnoir...........I would do 5 days attack, have fish / salad at the restaurant so your plate looks normal then do sunday as attack day. I am now doing mon, tue wed as protein days. thurs, fri sat, sun as my PV days to make the weekends easier.

think we need a brand spanking new thread so will start one.....................please join!!!

CurlieSue · 17/03/2017 21:53

Hi all, I have just ordered the dukan diet book. Has anyone tried it and does it work? It looks a bit complicated! Thanks.
