Hello:)

I got back from our family holiday last week, uploaded our photo's and i had the shock of my life, what has happened to me! My DD got a bit snap happy with the camera and boy i could have cried:(

So i have decided to start the Dukan diet, been shopping, so all prepared (i think) got my target etc, but i am looking for any advice from people who have already done it, did you struggle, find it easy and have you reached your target? Any recipes? Anything really, i suppose i need a bit of motivation, as i have no will power and a huge chocoholic!!

My target weight lose, through the Dukan site is -34lbs, huge amount!

Thank you

The spanish chicken sounds nice, pp. I can't remember if we're allowed peppers, but these might be nice too.

I was starving at work in the day and couldn't get out so I ate some seeds from an old graze box. Back on protein this evening though.

Weigh in Wednesday for me.

Keep going everyone!

planetpotty · 27/09/2011 08:18

Just checked (dukan book is always at arms reach!) peppers allowed (they are right between palm heart? and pumpkin :))

Hope everyone is getting on ok.

Hi, great to find this thread and some really good tips. Day 3 of attack phase here. Not hungry at all but desperately craving iceburg lettuce and apples for some strange reason. Finding it hard to do without my fruit and veg which is strange as I am usually a carbohydrate fiend.

Have lost four pounds since Sunday but feel utterly wiped out. Please say it passes, especially since I have given up alcohol so by rights should feel better!

moolie1 · 27/09/2011 20:34

Hello all:)

Sorry not been on, been a bit hectic!

Hope I dont pay for it on the scales at the end of the week :(

Hi again. Day 4 of attack. Stopped feeling exhausted yesterday, but still feel a bit insane! Just can't seem to organise myself at all. Doing a small presentation this morning and think I may just talk gibberish. planet, yes, diet coke is a great one, though I have had to say no to the caffeinated one as I already drink huge quantities of coffee.

Lost another three quarters of a pound.

bananamam · 28/09/2011 12:39

and here comes the headache and tiredness....how did I do this for a year? i keep asking myself why!! I am in my healthy bmi and weight range, but both only just, so I guess thats my reason!....I really want to have more give than 3 pounds......

Just bought a heap of prawns and steak, and turkey breasts....I got some very very low fat cream cheese to stuff in the turkey breast with garlic etc and wrap in and bake it in the oven.

Stirfry tonight with carb free noodles!!!

planetpotty · 28/09/2011 13:08

Right. I need some advice from Dukan diet experts on here.

I feel awful; sweaty, exhausted but worst of all, my concentration is shot to bits and I feel quite sad and tearful and generally shit. Is this normal? Does it pass? Ok, so I'm not hungry and I'm losing weight, but I'm beginning to wonder if it's worth it.

Thinking of cutting the Attack phase down to 4 days and eating vegetables tomorrow - do they improve things?

planetpotty · 28/09/2011 21:03

Thanks, im v happy with myself (and Mr D) and glad carbfest didnt scupper things for me :).... just hope it continues. How are you getting on? Looking forward to Sun?

bananamam · 28/09/2011 21:46

Bakelitebell how long were you meant to do the attack phase for? It's normal to be light headed which can then cause lack of concentration. But not overly so. Also make sure you are drinking enough as you could be dehydrated. Not sure about feeling tearful although I get grumpy when I first come off carbsBlush maybe tearful is your default??

Do a pv day it will only slow weightless but won't stop it and you will feel better.

Remember diets effect different people in different ways. Dukan may not be for youSmile I tried slimfast at first and it made me miserable!!

BakeliteBelle · 29/09/2011 07:47

Thanks banana. Yes, who knows what's going on. As this is my fifth Attack day, I may cut it short and start on the veg. Didn't lose any weight today which is really annoying considering I felt so awful.

planetpotty · 29/09/2011 09:06

bakelite Def cut short and go PV if it will keep you on the diet longer, maybe think of a marthon not a sprint with the weight loss its the overall weight loss that counts not just quick results, its tough though as sometimes you need to see the pounds melting as the motivation. Im expecting a platau (sp?) soon :( but gotta keep my eye on the prize. If you really are feeling terrible dont put yourself through it, its about ballance I think no point being thin but misserable, and there is more than one way to skin a cat :)

Hope you are feeling better today :)

bananamam · 29/09/2011 17:12

3 pounds in 2 days! I knew there was an incentive to keep going

BakeliteBelle · 29/09/2011 17:23

Just started my period a week early. Think that might explain why i felt quite so awful and didn't lose enough weight!!

moolie1 · 29/09/2011 20:52

Still going okay here, going to weigh in the morning, see if any more weight has shifted. I am finding it alot easier doing one pp and one pv day, keeps me going:)
I have been putting a muller yogurt in the freezer and having it as a sweet treat, it is lovely, not sure if we were allowed these but only as a treat, i cant seeing it doing me any harm, better than me giving up and eating chocolateGrin
Well done bananamam
Hope you feel better soon bakelitebelle
Planetpotty you are doing really well, keep it up, i am looking forward to Sunday nights meal, i am not going to go mad but i am going to enjoy my meal:)

For dinner tonight, i had bass cooked in the oven with quark, prawns, lemon, coriander and crushed chillies, was really tasty:)

bananamam · 30/09/2011 17:29

Brilliant!!! I love getting the other side of a stone!!! I am still half a pound over 10 stone but might see that 9 by tomorrow morning....though I am cheating a bit and having sticky BBQ ribs for tea Blush

planetpotty · 30/09/2011 21:51

Well done everyone! really chuffed that everyones doing so well :)

Moolie 9lb in 12 days is brilliant :) surely this has got to be the best diet ever! Im Hmm re the mullars to...but if we have both been having the odd one and still loosing they must be ok (within reason). Like you say it keeps us of the chocy.

Lasange in the oven, with aubergene for the pasta and milk and the tiniest bit of low low cheese for the sauce. Asked in the supermarket where the aubergenes were and the lad didnt know what one was, made smile and reminded me of a time at work when we had to send a fax and my workmate had no idea what one was let alone how to send one Grin.

Off for my lasange.....

bananamam · 01/10/2011 14:36

It is a good diet...and the weight stays off..has for me anyway. Down to 9.13 this morning and v v v happy!!! Ideally 9 stone but will settle for 9.7!!!

purples · 01/10/2011 15:21

Hi everyone, hope you don't mind me joining in, I fell in need of support/guidance! :) I used to be slim but I've gradually put on weight since having my 2 DD. I weighted myself on one of those machines that not only tells your weight but also gives BMI, and tells you how much body fat you have. :( Boy did I get a shock! saying that I new I was getting fatter, buying the next size up, tight waist bands etc... So I've just started the Dukan diet last Wednesday, so I'm on day 4 now..... I'm sticking to it but I really want a biscuit with my tea! Any ideas of what to eat with a cuppa??? Brew I want to lose 21lb, any idea how long that would take?Confused Thanks

bananamam · 01/10/2011 16:39

Hiya purples, you can make Dukan muffins using oat bran. They are not brilliant but ok for a quick fix. Google them and you will find a heap of recipes and other ideas! I eat sugar free jelly to keep my sweet tooth at bay. But sometimes want a little more
