Evening all! How are you? Hope you're all doing well.

Had one of those days yesterday- You know when you're ridiculously lethargic, can't get up off the sofa? So DS2 and I stayed in the living room all day, watching shite and playing Dr Who. Beverly HIlls 90210 on DVD. Jeeeez those boys were beautiful :o
However, I decided to go for a swim last night to try and conquer the tiredness, and I did feel a million times better afterwards. It was so nice to be in the water again, and to be able to actually swim- I take DS2 a fair bit but can't swim then as I'm holding him. Quite impressed with how much I could swim, too. I'll have to try going more often, it's good for the soul.
Good day today, I had veg soup for lunch with some ryvitas, more ryvitas at fourish and a baked sweet potato with tuna salad for dinner. Also did some gardening. Am trying to get some work done but God, I'm lazy... :o

Shaxx · 11/10/2011 20:02

Lady Really glad you're enjoying your job. It sounds great.

Belle how lovely that your grandad got the all clear. That is amazing about the tumour. I had no idea!

Knotty yum to your citrus loaf. How was it?

Dinky glad you're better. Everyone I know seems to be coming down with it but it seems to be a quick recovery one. Well done on the exercise.

No exercise for me today but I've stuck to the slimming world and feel like I'm eating too much. I'm sure I'm following the rules though.
I had some left over noodles from yesterday,. There wasn't much so I had home made potato wedges too. I'll see if I lose any weight but I'm not really convinced.....

BelleEnd · 11/10/2011 20:40

Yeah, it was about this time last year that my grandad had the tumour Shaxx, and had treatment before Christmas. He's still farming and still doing the milk round, and keeps going on about how his hair has grown back so luxuriantly and plentifully... :o

justaminute · 11/10/2011 21:47

Belle - I'm with you on the lethargic feeling although my tiredness is self inflicted. I went to the wedding (it was good) and went for the drink & dance like a loony option rather than drive & no drink. tbh I didn't drink too much just a couple of wines and a G & T but I woke up at 3am in a sweat and couldn't get back to sleep. I just can't do drinking anymore. A sure sign I'm getting old Sad
Also I have a running injury. I have a pain running up the outside of my lower leg when I flex my toes, not sure what I've done. I was naughty and played netball through the pain last night - I couldn't let the team down. Similarly I'm playing again tomorrow but I'm not sure I'll be able to do a run this week which is annoying.

Lady - Fab news on getting to 11 stone - you easily beat me. I'm glad the job has been better this week. Mine is OK. There's lots to learn and a lot of adhoc duties which you can't train someone for but I'm sure I'll be able to wing it Smile. The existing employee is still there until half term, after then the fun begins!

Dinky - definitely something doing the rounds. dd was sick on Weds and one of her friends had it at the weekend but both were fine within hours. Hope you are over it.

Shaxx - i guess if you are following the Slimming World rules you should lose - I'll shall wait and watch with interest.

Knotty - 8 stone is amazing!!! I'm in awe. I need your mentality to rub off on me. I'm trying with the healthy snacks but biscuits & chocolate are still too tempting.

Phew mammoth post - sorry if I've missed anyone. Major flaw with new job is that there is no personal internet access. boo hiss!

knottyhair · 12/10/2011 09:30

Dinky, hope you're feeling better today. Belle, that sounds like a lovely day with your DS Smile, and well done on getting out and going for a swim though, it's all too easy to veg out when the weather changes. And your grandad sounds lovely! Shaxx, I don't know much about Slimming World but I'm pretty sure all these clubs work out your allowance very carefully, so you should see results. JAM, I'm the same as you regarding alcohol, I barely drink anymore, and the odd time I do, just a couple of glasses wine is enough to give me a crap night's sleep and feel horrible the next day. Can't believe I'm the same girl who grew up in a pub and used to drink everyone under the table! Be careful of your injury, try to take it easy if you can. And can I just say I'm not 8 stone! I'm 8 stone 12 and three quarters to be exact Grin.

The citrus loaf was lovely! I had 2 pieces yesterday, one with a cup of tea and one with some low fat custard for pud last night (hence I was slightly over my allowance yesterday). Did 4 circuits of NMTZ this morning. Mushroom soup for lunch and pasta with prawns in tomato sauce with a bit of feta for dinner later. Hope you all have a good day xx

Suspect am coming down with the lurgy again - feeling v achy and lethargic all over again. Have binned pilates yesterday and bodypump today - will try and get an early night tonight and see how am feeling tomorrow. Ugh.

Glad you had fun at the wedding JAM. Take it easy re the running injury - sounds painful!

knottyhair · 12/10/2011 13:21

Sorry you're feeling so rubbish Dinky. Try and lay off the exercise for a few days, to give your body a chance to recover. I know it's hard if you start to feel OK to launch back into it, but you can bring it all back on again if you try too much too soon. Take care and hope you feel better soon xx

thedogwalker · 12/10/2011 19:32

Sorry not posting much, on a week off work and spending lots of time with DH before he goes away for 6 months. So will be back to normal next week, but whooo hooo Knotty, in the 8s that's fab Grin. Take care all xx

BelleEnd · 12/10/2011 19:34

Oh dinky poor you. Hope you're already sleeping and that you'll feel better after a good night's sleep. Oranges! Oranges are the answer to every illness. Get some!

Good day today, although I did eye the Wagon Wheels with lust in my eyes! But, annoyingly, I had a few squares of Whole Nut chocolate on Sunday and it brought me out with the hugest zit in the world. It's like I have a siamese twin growing on my chin. I'm almost proud of it. So, chocolate is something I'm going to try and avoid, even when I'm treating myself.

Veg soup, ryvitas, dutch crispbreads, and lovely carrot and coriander soup.

Hope you all had a good day.

BelleEnd · 12/10/2011 19:35

X-post TDW. 6 months! Gosh. Bet you're snogging a lot at the mo. :o

justaminute · 12/10/2011 22:02

My leg hurts I want to go running tomorrow but I don't think I should, it's not fair Do you think swimming would be OK?

Knotty you so are 8 stone! Grin Wink

BelleEnd · 13/10/2011 08:29

JAM Just Sit Down! I am well impressed with your devotion to exercise, but don't you know ITV2 is re-running The House of Eliott? :o

dinkystinky · 13/10/2011 09:27

STILL feel crap. Bah humbug!

JAM - much as I hate to say it, i think that rest would probably be the best thing for your leg as it sounds like movement worsens the pain. No netball, no running and probably no swimming for a few days, then go for swimming (as no impact) to see how it feels and build up from there.

Lol at your description of your zit Belle!

knottyhair · 13/10/2011 12:50

TDW, enjoy your time with your DH. It must be so hard not seeing each other for so long. Belle, well done on resisting the Wagon Wheels and hope your little "friend" is going away Grin. JAM, hope you've managed to lay off the exercise, but I understand your frustration. How does it feel today? Dinky, sorry you're still feeling rubbish. Are you off work with it or have you gone in?

Having a rest day today from Jillian. Had spicy chicken soup and a ryvita for lunch. Pasta again tonight but with cabbage, some reduced fat soft cheese and a bit of bacon, and probably a bit of chilli for me! DS wants halloumi for his tea before he goes to Beavers, so am trying to keep some calories back as I'm bound to want a bit! Have a good day everyone xx

Hello everyone! 1lb off here, so down to 10st7. Going out for lunch today and will treat myself. Good luck, y'all!

knottyhair · 14/10/2011 10:01

Well done Belle! Enjoy your lunch out Smile.

Had the bloody nibbles all afternoon yesterday so ended up over my allowance but the crumpet was worth it Grin! Did a Shred this morning. Going to have the rest of the spicy chicken soup and maybe half a sandwich for lunch (might reduce my afternoon nibbling if I eat a bit more at lunch). I'm making tandoori fish with sweet potato & celeriac mash and a tomato salad for dinner later. Good luck to all those due to weigh in x

dinkystinky · 14/10/2011 11:51

Well done Belle

No WI here - still feeling bleurgh and now seems to be morphing into a cold. Bah humbug x 2!

justaminute · 14/10/2011 17:17

Well done Belle. I've lost 1 pound too Yay!!!

I have been naughty and ignored the advice of the exercise gurus Knotty & Dinky. I know... "on my head be it" but after an incident yesterday involving a packet of mini rolls I felt I had to do some exercise. I went swimming, I did breaststroke using mainly my arms and not much kicking to protect my leg which is still too sore to run on. I saw the run club instructor in the playground today she has recommended some stretches to do so hopefully it will improve.

I intended to have a lovely glass of red tonight with a homemade chicken byriani but I stupidly dropped the bottle on the drive when I got home. Doh! The road has the whiff of a brewery now.

knottyhair · 15/10/2011 07:18

Hope you feel better soon Dinky, sounds rotten Sad. Well done JAM! If the swimming hasn't aggravated your injury, it probably won't do any harm (not that I'm any sort of expert Blush). But what a bummer about your wine! Was your biryani nice? (sounds lovely!). Day off exercise today (have DS and his friend firmly planted on the sofa watching telly and they look very snuggly Smile.) I'll walk into town later this morning with DS as he wants to go to Poundland to get some more useless tat decorations for Halloween. Plan to have some soup in Pret and we've got roast chicken thighs, salad, bread & home-made guacamole for Strictly tea later! Not related to this thread, but can I just say I found out last night I'm going to be a great-aunt?? My 22 year old niece is pregnant, not planned but her & her boyfriend are very happy about it, and I'm chuffed to bits! My sister is a bit Shock I think at the idea of being a granny at 48 but I'm sure she'll get used to it. Hope you all have a good day xx

thedogwalker · 15/10/2011 09:35

Morning all, no WI for me, as I don't want to do it now every week. Dinky hope you're feeling better today, lots of vitamin c and wrap up warm, no better excuse than to get DH to do the shopping, while you snuggle up on sofa wrapped up in comfy blanket Smile. JAM hope the swimming helped, but take it easy, don't want to aggravate it too much, mini rolls aren't the end of the world. Belle hows your twin this morning Grin, sorry, cheeky of me I know but couldn't resist. Knotty your food has got my mouth watering as usual. Hope everyone has a good weekend, take care xx

knottyhair · 16/10/2011 09:23

Morning peeps. TDW, how are you feeling? When does your DH go away again? Hope you're having a nice time with him Smile. Gorgeous weather here although bit chilly willy at the moment. I'm making some bean soup for lunch in a bit, as we're stuck at home all day while DP tries to finally sort out the new boiler. I've just done a 6W6P and need a shower and hairwash so I'm bracing myself for a cold one Sad. Making a toffee apple cake this afternoon (mainly for DP & DS, honest) and a beef & barley casserole for tea, with mashed potato & celeriac and cabbage with caraway seeds & bacon - yum. Hope everyone's having a good weekend xx

BelleEnd · 17/10/2011 09:51

Hello all! Hope you're all well, and had a good weekend.
For those asking, my twin has faded away, and how I can only see his manky crusty head :o Got AF this weekend, I may have been a bit quick to blame the chocolate!

I went over my limit on Friday and Saturday, but made up for it yesterday. Was annoyed on Saturday as I went into a deli and asked for tuna salad. This was served in a plastic tub, which I took to the park to eat. First mouthful: Cruuuuuuunch. The salad was full of dirt and grit. So I took it back.
Belle: I just bought this salad and it's full of grit.
Manager: Well, I have washed it.
Belle: It's still full of dirt. Look, you can see it.

Manager: Well, I can't do anything about it now.
Belle: Well, can I have my money back?
Manager: (sighs) No. But you can choose something else.
Belle: I don't really want anything else.
Manager: Well okay then. But only this time. We never do refunds.

I was very Angry after that.
Also, was Shock at the calories in an indian meal for two thingy from Tesco. More than in fish and chips!

Today, veg soup and then mushroom soup.

knottyhair · 17/10/2011 11:06

Belle, that sounds like pretty awful customer service! And how horrible chewing down on a load of grit! Bet you won't go back there again. I had a quick look at your Indian meal in your diary and I guess the calories are high partly because it includes rice AND naan AND onion bhajis. And there's often so much fat in the ready made stuff, but I know sometimes it's nice not to have to cook. I don't know how big the portions were, but would just the curry & rice have been enough? It'd still be quite a lot but nowhere near as much as the whole shebang (is that even a word??).

I did have a bit of the toffee apple cake yesterday and it was bloody lovely! DS has already requested it for Halloween or bonfire night - oh dear. Did 4 circuits of BFBM this morning. Made a big pot of bean soup yesterday so I'm having that for lunch with 2 rashers of streaky bacon that I can't resist need eating up and half a muffin. Tea tonight is a mushroom & halloumi burger with a bit of salad, a brown roll, tzatziki and sweet potato chips. Hope everyone's having a good day! xx

OP posts:
dinkystinky · 17/10/2011 11:10

That's crap Belle - cant imagine that place will stay open for long with customer service like that!

Toffe apple cake sounds lovely Knotty -please post the recipe (or a link to it)! My parents and aunts are down on Sunday and sounds liek the perfect thing for afternoon tea!

thedogwalker · 17/10/2011 13:14

Oh yes I second Dinky, you must post the recipe Knotty, that's got me drooling, yum yum. Dinky are you feeling better now? Hope so. Belle how annoying of the manager, I would have found it very hard to stay calm, thankfully you did and got the refund you deserved.

Well I've been eating naughtily all weekend, exactly what I didn't want. Have been good today, eating little and often, hoping that will keep me away from the chocolate, thankfully no morning sickness for me but that means I can eat and eat and eat. I am being good today and I plan on staying that way, tries to find backbone and will power in handbag [still searching]. Hope everyone is well, take care xx
