I hope so!!!!!!!
Would it be such a bad thing to not eat chocolate again?
It feels weird saying that because I am a real addict, but I hate that it controls me

knaveofhearts · 19/05/2011 20:43

I think you're right. I loved cigarettes. Now I loathe them, don't miss them and am healthier and in control without them. Same principle. I'm just not good with finality...

Will mull it over tonight I think. You sound so positive and determined. Good luck Silvery.

SilveryMoon · 19/05/2011 20:49

I am a smoker. I hate them, they taste awful, they don't help, but for some reason I think I need them.
I'm going to read the exercise again tonight and see how I feel then.

BsshBossh · 19/05/2011 21:26

Good luck girls!

florencerusty · 19/05/2011 21:41

What do I do now? I am not hungry I dont think, but just 'want' something! I am resisting but is a nice drink acceptable?

SilveryMoon · 19/05/2011 21:48

That was me last night flo a drink is fine!

knaveofhearts · 19/05/2011 21:51

The wanting "something" I think is usually about the need to feel nice. Maybe do something else. Bath? Film? Book? Sex (burn more calories!)? If you still feel hungry after you've been nice to yourself some other way then you probably are hungry!

SilveryMoon · 19/05/2011 21:56

...........after you've been nice to yourself hehehehehehehehe

SoloIsAHotCougar · 19/05/2011 22:42

Silveryyyyyyy!!! Grin

SilveryMoon · 19/05/2011 22:44

Lol.
Right, off to bed to listen to the cd. Not gonna be 'nice to myself', just listen to the cd Grin hehehehe

SoloIsAHotCougar · 19/05/2011 22:48

I've had a bowl of cereal with yoghurt for my evening meal which as it turned out was a very late meal! just didn't realise the time Hmm.

I've sorted through some clothes this afternoon; tried on some blouses that I couldn't get anywhere near me a month or less ago and they fit!
I also tried on two dresses that I'm considering wearing for Mums 70th and a wedding. I know they'll look and feel 100% better if I lose another 14 to 21lbs, so that's my aim. 14lbs in 4 weeks, 21lbs in 6 weeks. Just got to get my aim straight

knaveofhearts · 19/05/2011 23:18

You are very rude ladies Grin

knaveofhearts · 20/05/2011 08:56

Mornin' all.

Think I shall refrain from giving advice since I am very inappropriate! Blush I shall stick to cheerleading. Yay Solo Grin

Have a nice day all and be nice to yourselves Wink. I'm off to the bear pit shortly and not looking forward to it. Miss my babies too.

ppeatfruit · 20/05/2011 08:57

SilveryandKnave have you tried only buying the very best dark choc. and having 2 or 3 pieces when you feel hungry (with a coffee or something). i couldn't eat more than that 'cos it is SOOO rich.

ppeatfruit · 20/05/2011 09:02

.. About choc TBH I hate the normal stuff the 'mouth feel ' of the expensive choc. is amazing.

SilveryMoon · 20/05/2011 09:13

Yuk, I hate expensive chocolate and dark chocolate, yuk.

knaveofhearts · 20/05/2011 09:26

I can just eat a little of that but it doesn't give me the satisfaction I get from a bar of milk chocolate so doesn't give the same "buzz". Need to break the hold of milk chocolate I think. Mmmm, milk chocolate hold [drool]!

Joltek · 20/05/2011 09:31

First 4 lbs off for me today! Hooray - I'm on my way! :)

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 20/05/2011 09:46

knave and silvery - I agree, there is nothing quite like the feeling of eating Dairy Milk! Fruit and Nut is my downfall.
I'm not prepared to give it up forever though, I just need to learn to eat a normal amount at once rather than a whole 200g bar Blush
I do love Green and Blacks though, the mint one is a current favourite.

Well done Joltek! Grin

Niecie - congratulations on the trousers, that must feel amazing! We are about the same size I think. 20 down to 18 is a big jump I think, because things are then cut for a large but normally proportioned person rather than a fat person if that makes any sense!
I have some 20s which are now enormous on me and unwearable, and others which still fit nicely, but a lot of my 18s are still muffin-top inducing. Except my jeans which are an 18 and are in danger of needing a belt! Shock

Yesterday was a bit of a disaster, as predicted due to the tiredness! I was doing ok, and then fell headfirst into the biscuit tin when I got back from taking DS1 to his music class with DS2 strapped in the sling. I was exhausted!
Managed to eat only a small dinner because I wasn't really hungry, and then I only had 2 squares of chocolate after dinner and nothing else.
This morning I was hungry for breakfast as normal. I also got 6 hours solid sleep last night, so the world is a happier place :)

My rings are looser on my fingers this morning :)

Niecie · 20/05/2011 10:07

Morning ladies.

I am beginning to think eating being a state of mind is more complicated than I thought. I wasn't particularly hungry yesterday but we were having chinese and I realised that we didn't have any plain rice or noodles and DS2 doesn't like fried rice. I ended up having to do a last minute dash to Sainsburys with minutes to spare before tea to get some microwavable rice for him. Unfortunately, the rushing continued into the eating and even though I wasn't that hungry, I ended up shovelling in food like it was going out of fashion. Hmm

I am sure that if I had had the time to cook and eat in a more sedate fashion that wouldn't have happened. What I really need is a chef to take the pressure off and to allow me to eat in a leisurely fashion.

Alibaba - I know exactly what you mean about 20s being a fat size and 18 not. So many ranges go from size 8 to 18 that it is like being able to wear normal clothes to be an 18. It all depends on the cut of course - some things are just plain skimpy and an 18 won't fit me. Why it is the slightly more expensive stuff that is slightly bigger too and what really is a size 18?!

Oh for the 80's again (I know you are probably too young to remember those) - I can still fit into my size 14 shirt from 1986 because the style was to cut more generously. I can't do up the bottom button but that doesn't matter, it is a long shirt. Smile

Doesn't make me feel any the less overweight of course but psychologically it is good and it is a more comfortable fit too.

DingDongMerrilyOutOfSeason · 20/05/2011 10:24

joltek great work!

I weighed in yesterday and am now on 5.5lb loss in 3 weeks Grin
Dinner with friends tonight, first real test of whether my manners will be bad enough for me to not eat if not hungry (does that make sense?) Not buying new clothes yet but looking forward to when I do!

Have a great day!

BsshBossh · 20/05/2011 10:53

Great losses everyone!

My next weigh in is another fortnight but after being ill and losing nothing in the previous 2 weeks, I jumped on the scales yesterday morning and found I'd lost 2lbs. I'm recovered now from my cold so hopefully I'll lose a few more pounds in the next fortnight. I'm 8lbs away from my mini-goal of 12 stones 1lb and that might take another month to lose, realistically, so fingers crossed.

I'm really making an effort now to wait until my stomach is really, physically hungry and growling before I eat. I'm getting to like the sensation, if I'm honest.

florencerusty · 20/05/2011 10:56

well so far today I have not been what I consider hungry so have only had an orange juice and a cuppa ........

SilveryMoon · 20/05/2011 11:12

Great news on the losses people! Grin Well done.

TheOriginalFAB · 20/05/2011 11:20

Still in Shock at how I am understanding my body in terms of how hungry I am on the scale and Shock at how I am listening to it and acting appropriately and stopping when I am full as well as not eating the minute I think I am hungry but drinking water first. ShockShock.
