Sparkling new thread Grin

Firstly, the Golden Rules

  1. Eat what you WANT
  2. Eat when you are HUNGRY
  3. Eat CONCIOUSLY
  4. STOP when you are satisfied

Here is the book on Amazon which is all you need to get started!

This is the tapping technique explained - this can be useful for cravings.

Celestialstarlight · 18/05/2011 00:36

SoloIsAHotCougar · 18/05/2011 00:49

Oh I'm just with you lot Grin I know 'our' system works as we are seeing good results and not worrying about being 10 minutes late eating lunch Hmm what the?!! nah! I'm 47 too and (was) bigger than I'd ever been before. Not any more though Wink

CheerfulYank · 18/05/2011 02:40

Just coming to say hi...still Pauling, but kind of half-heartedly tbh. I need to really commit!

CheerfulYank · 18/05/2011 02:41

It was my 29th birthday today (well, yesterday your time) and I realized I've felt out of shape since I was 12. Long enough, no?!

Welcome freak Wink Grin
I would eat at your 10am break as you are hungry then. I would eat it (or try to eat it) consciously by putting food down between mouthfalls and chewing the 20 times PM tells us too.
Then, this next bit depends on whether you can have snacks on you or not. If I could snack in the afternoon, I would not eat at lunch time if I were not hungry, but maybe have a handful of grapes etc through the afternoon.
If I could not snack, I would keep my fluid levels up through the afternoon and have a half portion of lunch just until I get used to not having quite as much food.
A big drop in blood sugar levels for me results in some nasty mood swings.

celestial and howto what thread? What did I miss when I didn't fully catch u with thread?

CY Happy belated birthday x

Howto I am amazed at how quickly this thread moves! Everytime I've been off site for a bit, a whole other page of chat appears!

've just had 2 crumpets for breakfast, but am still feeling a bit hungry (I think), gonna leave it a while and if still feeling it in a while, will have some pineapple.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 18/05/2011 08:17

Silvery, there is a thread talking about overeating, Solo and I offered soem good advice, and suggested thsi thread and got shot down as we "go on about weight loss too much" in here Shock

onesandwich sorry this is such a busy thread i didn't read yr question about dawdling! I would make it a competition say something like' I bet you a new comic' (or whatever!) that you can't get ready in 5mins and both time him!

neepsntatties · 18/05/2011 08:25

Hello all just signing in! I love reading all your posts, wish I had time to respond individually like you all do but I alone with a baby and a three year old.

Not such a good day for me yesterday, did't eat a proper lunch so ended up feeling hungry and snacking all afternoon, including a lot of rubbish and never really feeling satisfied. I nee to learn to trust my body and not try and trick it as it doesn't work.

ppeatfruit · 18/05/2011 08:26

cont.. Let him look at the clock or yr watch with you. you could make a chart to add up the times he beats a certain time and when it gets to 4 or 5 (make it easy enough) then he can choose a special comic from the shop!

Alibabaandthe80nappies · 18/05/2011 08:28

Morning ladies. Just had a look at that thread, it is a bit Hmm isn't it?

Now I know that I'm not meant to be weighing myself, but I woke up this morning feeling thinner and couldn't help myself hopping on the scales.

13st 13lbs - woohoo - the barrier is broken! Grin

That is another 2 pounds since Saturday, but that isn't really the point. The point is, I haven't weighed this much since the very early days of pregnancy with DS1, 3 and a half years ago.

Ooh crumpets for breakfast, I think I will join you Silvery. God I love food. :):)

PositiveAttitude · 18/05/2011 08:32

Ta Daa!!!

Look at me!!!! Grin

I am wearing my jeans to work!!! Yes, they are already comfortable enough since trying them on last week and deciding I couldn't wear them out the house yet!

I am very sorry to say that I have found a negative in this paul McKenna lark!!! My bedroom looks like a teenagers after she has got ready for a hot date!! I tried on 8 outfits this morning and they are now all strewn across my bed! Blush See, a few weeks ago I just grabbed clothes I felt comfortable in, and knew fitted me, and tried to hide as much of me as possible. Now I want to look good!! It takes so much longer!!! Hmm Grin

I cant believe that people think we are talking weightloss all the time on here - it is so much more than that!! At least we are all happy chatters, too. Not miserable moaners! Wink

Have a good day everyone!!

Oh and I nearly forgot, I had lost my swimsuit last night, so I had to grab another one, which is 4 whole sizes smaller than my largest pair of trousers I bought 2 months ago!! It fitted fine!!
(No, I have not really dropped 4 dress sizes, yet, I know, but the trousers were a really large size!!)

knaveofhearts · 18/05/2011 09:03

Mornin' all.

Didn't check in yesterday due to crazy shift at work and you all chatted so much I can't remember everything! Should make notes...

Hello newbies! I hope you enjoy the thread (and the pauling) as much as we do. [cheery wave!]

ppeatfruit thanks for the advice, I think you're right and I try to offer some choices. Unfortunately her most recent choice was to paint herself blue during DS's emergency explody nappy change Grin Bloody evil smurf...

Alibaba and PA Woo hoo, bloody well done, that is awesome (say it like a surfer dude for extra points!). Am so pleased for you and sorry if I have missed out anyone else's losses, well done to you too.

I have weighed in this morning. At 4 weeks I am half a stone down, 1.5 inches smaller at the waist and 2.5 off the bum. Yay. Reckon about a stone to go.

I did a pilates class on Monday night. Thought it would be a gentle option but I'm in agony! However, have been walking like a tall, slim, confident person since. Not bad for a short, dumpy, shy girl! I would recommend if you can get to one.

ppeatfruit · 18/05/2011 09:11

neeps You've only just started; this is a real life change and it will take time !! You will get there though Smile

ppeatfruit · 18/05/2011 09:14

Also everyone especially the newies BE KIND TO YOURSELVES!!!!!

ppeatfruit · 18/05/2011 09:26

Brilliant news P.A.!Smile iKWYM about the clothes i have to think 'I'm going to so and so what will i wear' now and trying on all different outfits it does take time actually a bit annoying too!!

Sylvana · 18/05/2011 09:28

Thanks everyone for the warm welcome, you are all lovely :)

Yes, I think I will order what I want for lunch and try to stop when I'm full. A first eh ?

I did PM's plan a couple of years ago and did lose some weight but doing it on your own isn't easy. I love the support this thread offers.

The one thing that stayed with me from the last time was not eating until you are hungry. Food tastes so much better and is much more enjoyable. I will have to re-learn eating consiously and slowly but the biggest hurdle for me will be leaving food on my plate when I'm full.

Perhaps posters from other theads don't 'get' this plan because they are not emotional eaters ? WW & SW never worked for me either because they focus on what you should eat rather than why you overeat. PM's plan is a revelation in this regard.

By the way, I'm 44 and 14 stone Grin

SilveryMoon · 18/05/2011 09:32

Right, off to make FAB's cheese muffins with the kids.............this could be very messy!

SilveryMoon · 18/05/2011 10:20

I put too much mixture in the cake tray.
The tops of the muffins are now joint! whoops

SilveryMoon · 18/05/2011 10:35

FAB Those muffins are lovely!! I'm in danger of eating the lot! aaarrrrrrggggghhhhhhh Wink The kids are loving them too.
Thanks for that Grin

Celestialstarlight · 18/05/2011 11:01
