Got hospital appt 2moro...cacking my pants!!! Confused :(

RatherBeOnThePiste · 09/02/2011 12:08

Sorry to have been awol. I feel like I am falling off this thread but really don't want to. I think I really need to evaluate the whole food thing because its just not working. I am completely at a loss. Sad
But you guys are all doing amazingly Envy

GT - really good luck for your interview, I am trying to think of any sort of question that may come up..I would imagine questions on the following are possible

Confidentiality because of this court case recently

Equal opportunities - how do you ensure fair play for all?

Child protection - what happens if a child makes a disclosure you to, or you hear or witness something - what do you do? ( Talk to your class teacher, make factual written statement etc. Can you read their policy before? )

Anything to do with bullying, problems arising during wet play, how best to mediate in a dispute? ( This is only what you do as a mum with your own DC ) What would you do if a child made a racist comment?

Are your first aid trained GT? This is something you could be proactive and say you are keen to do and this would enhance your status.

Classic ones - what do you enjoy about working with children? What would you bring to the job ( a warm coat and sense of humour!) Can you describe a game you could organise?

Why do you want this particular job? How will you be impartial with your DC there to?

Do you have any questions ? Think of something relevant - maybe something about training e.g. first aid?

Maintain eye contact, smile, be upbeat and enthusiastic, firm handshake whilst maintaining eye contact, thank you very much blah blah. Gimme the job.

Really sorry Pretty, sad times.

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/02/2011 13:23

whats up pisty? why have you got lost :( you did so well last year

i was a good girl and just ate fruit at cm - chocolate cakes and biscuits galore, but i stood strong!!!

Murtette · 09/02/2011 14:30

I am BORED of soup. Not even parsnip and apple is doing it for me today. I want real food - a delicious panini oozing mozzarella and pesto. I saw a friend yesterday who'd had swine flu over the NY and had lost half a stone to which my first reaction was Envy rather than sympathy Blush

Saw BL on Monday night. I would have loved to have seen their risk assessment on that one. Could you imagine the look on the faces of the fire & ambulance crews if one of them had collapsed half way up the tower. Or two of them had got stuck!

Pretty - so sorry to hear about your DFIL. How tough for you all. Your dress sounds stunning. We have a work thing on 11th March and I want to be into the 11 somethings by then. Even so, I expect to be the only person bigger than a size 10 at the event.

Piste - I'm sorry you've got the food blues. It may not be working for you at the moment, but you were one of our real success stories last year and not only have you lost weight but you've taken up running too. Even if you're plateauing at the moment, one of my mantra is still going to be "Think of Piste" whenever I fancy a cake, think of taking the escalator rather than the stairs etc.

Laughalot - have you heard back from the GP yet? Did s/he really think you were going to wait three days to find out if you might be pregnant?!

Bebe - how are you feeling?

Gettin - good luck with the interview tomorrow. Does the school have a buddy bench? And are you expected to organise any games? How are the viewings going?

smokinaces · 09/02/2011 16:22

my dinner tonight made a couple of adjustments to make even healthier, but smells good!

GettinTrimmer · 09/02/2011 16:36

piste what is your BMI now? You are at an ideal weight for your height?

GettinTrimmer · 09/02/2011 16:45

smokin - that dinner looks scrummy thanks for link

murtette - the school has a buddy scheme and children wear a 'buddy' t-shirt and will play with/help others find friends.

Yes, do games with children, not sure if it's anything official but I think with some of them if they need something structured and are a bit lost.

Viewings - a couple from the Salvation Army are interested in our house.

smokinaces · 09/02/2011 16:48

Murtette, what other things inspire you if soup is boring? salads? fish? jacket potatoes? I get bored so easily at the moment, but have a really addiction to fish and seafood.

Piste, could you try swapping to something like weight watchers or slimming world - just a couple of weeks online to try something different for a couple of weeks to see if it kick starts everything again?

Catching up with BL US tonight - am crossing my fingers the annoying red woman goes out at last!

smokinaces · 09/02/2011 17:10

Trimmer, it was gorgeous. I used brown rice instead of white, and cocktail prawns instead of king but the two boys scoffed it too - and theres a tupperware ready for the fridge for tomorrow lunch cold. And was so easy to prepare and cook, a definate one to repeat.

They have this chicken hotpot which looks nice too, so might try that next, but with chicken breasts instead of thighs to make it healthier

Blondeshavemorefun · 09/02/2011 17:54

Very impressed at the 0pp Blondes.

I'm just off to sort my outfit out for tomorrow...

bebejones · 09/02/2011 18:24

Ooops! Had fishcake & chips for dinner! Had to go & pick DH up from work & was running really late! On the plus side, was a really small portion! DH is livid coz it cost alot & the boxes were half empty!! But hey, good for the 'diet'! Hmm

Chin up Piste! You have done so well! Maybe we should all swap food ideas to freshen things up a bit?!

Blondes - Have a nice night! :)

GettinTrimmer · 10/02/2011 09:55

Hi all

Just had my interview for lunchtime supervisor post at dc's school. I don't think it went well.

I just don't have the experience, some questions that I am sure I gave the wrong answers to some questions.

And my outfit I wore, it was the same shirt I wore to my last interview in July, it is tight, so it's a timely reminder of how well I did last year!

Blondeshavemorefun · 10/02/2011 10:56

aww trimmer dont put yourself down, sure you did very well

bebe cish and phips as my friend calls then - yummy

indian was yummy so sure i shall repent tomorrow on the scales Grin

GettinTrimmer · 10/02/2011 11:46

bebe what a great idea about swapping food ideas, maybe we should try to motivate and invigorate Grin Hmm

I am determined to lose this weight I put on, it's just trying on my interview outfit and it's tight. I just need to crack keeping the weight off, that has been my problem for years.

GettinTrimmer · 10/02/2011 12:47
