Deafworm · 01/01/2011 11:16

Hi all

I wondered if anyone else was planning to follow Paul mckenna this year and lose their weight?

im currently 16st13 and intend to end the year a fit toned 10st. im a bit hit and miss with following the golden rules but when i do i have seen results so from today i will follow it and get the results i want.

as well as the weight loss with paul mckenna i intend to

Beardo the just dance 2 fitness thing every day till my husband (RAF) flies out to the middle east around april

Bear do the couch to 5k plan and run race for life this year

Bearstart the 30 day shred when dh goes away and repeat it till he comes home (approx 4 months)

I also have one of those magic leg trainers coming on home approval so will have a play with that and see if its worth keping, apart from that i will reassess my fitness in august when he gets home and come to some decisions on how to go forward with that then but for now these seem like reasonable goals, especially when they're on top of really following the golden rules.

so anyone else following 'the rules' this year and going to join me with their aims?

the book for anyone curious about it, though i got mine from my local works type bookshop for less than £5 thats less than one weeks ww/sw/etc subs to try it out and its honestly the most sensible weightloss plan ive ever looked at

I would love someone to travel/go with too so if anyone in the west midlands/birmingham fancies it do let me know Smile

ktwiltshire · 13/01/2011 19:51

i only have skinny friends too, rather annoying!!

the tube is walking distance from the venue, even for me in my bad hips!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 13/01/2011 19:57

Ohthats good, I was worried about how far the tube was. I think most of the audience is going to be MNers Grin

ktwiltshire · 13/01/2011 20:00

lets hope so!

Deafworm · 13/01/2011 20:07

wow, thats a lot!! really do need a meet up. dinners in the oven, but i am having a few drinks tonight, its DHs 30th tomorrow...but its vodka and diet coke, minimal amount of calories...not that im meant to be counting them. but i really do WANT to have this drink, so its good right?

Deafworm · 13/01/2011 20:26

stop thinking so much kt, im finding it works best if i dont think about beingallowed/good just do i want, if you want it have it

OP posts:
missmakesstuff · 13/01/2011 20:38

Well, have posted on FB that I have a spare, so far no bugger wants to admit their fatness!
Oh well, may be offering it on here then...really don't want to go on my own, but sure it'll be fine.
Bear badge anyone?

Kt - when I chatted to my mate Paul, he said that alcohol wasn't a problem, just dont eat at the same time, so you can still eat conciously. so having my glasses of wine after my beef stew. so I can pay both my full attention!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 13/01/2011 21:14

Yes, I saw my mate Paul say that too lol. Have got my journey sorted, accomodation sorted, Ill be there with bells on!

Ive just eaten some sweets :( They were sat by my PC and I ate them without even thinking! How awful is that? No wonder I am like I am! What was teh point in eating probably 200 cakls worth of sweets for NO REASON AT ALL!

Sorry, just so annoyed at myself.

Enjoy your Indian meal KT.

ktwiltshire · 13/01/2011 21:24

I had the indian, ate about a 1/3 of it without thinking, started thinking and tasting the food and it reminded me that its really not that tasty!!! oh well, its never going to be straight away is it?

still no reply to my FB status either...no one seems to want to come to london!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 13/01/2011 21:26

Thats such a shame KT :( I had about 5 people ask me! I chose the one who offered me a lift though Grin

I keep finding that, food I loved before is actually quite tasteless when eaten conciously - sausage rolls for a start! Cant believe I ate those. Chips are another. I dont want to waste my tummy space on tasteless food - which I suppose is the whole point!!

ktwiltshire · 13/01/2011 21:30

yeah i really like korma...well i thought i did lol, but i guess thats the whole point of eatin consciously.

still trying to find someone, put a couple of feelers out with friends to ask friends etc

whomovedmychocolate · 13/01/2011 21:32

Hello, Paul Mckenna's sex slave Wink whomovedmychocolate here.

Looking forward to meeting a lot of you on the 19th.

I will be there at 8:30 and will be delighted to say hello to all and sundry. If anyone wants to PM me I will send a mobile number and am happy to orchestrate a group hug at 9am if everyone can make it for then. I'm sure we can co-opt someone into taking photos for the 'before' shot.

I have lost weight twice using the Paul Mckenna system -each time I lose 20 pounds or so in a month or less - the weight literally drops off me. But the CDs stop working for me. I think I actually sleep through them. His other CDs work really well for me - I've got the 'Happy' one which is fab. I've been slightly high for three days now. Despite giving up caffeine.

I now weigh 11stone - probably plus or minus a few pounds and want to weigh 8st 13lbs.

Big trigger points for me are boredom and sheer knackeredness/lack of motivation to exercise. However I'm scarily fit despite this and can carry both children several miles (and do). So my big problem is sticking to it and I need someone to drill into my head and make it stick (possibly by bunging up my ears with superglue to stop it leaking out Wink). So that's what I'm hoping for on the 19th.

ktwiltshire · 13/01/2011 21:34

welcome!! im aiming to loose about 2stone or so, focusing on fitting back into my clotes instead of the weight, also i am slightl obsessed with weighing myself, but im working on it!

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 13/01/2011 21:36

Hi & welcome WMMC! Glad you joined us. YOu have teh same hopes as me for the 19th - Ive doen this before & fat melted off. But I gave up :( and Im now struggling to do it 100%.

whomovedmychocolate · 13/01/2011 21:38

Throw your scales away ktwiltshire - I did this - now I have to turn on the bloody wii fit to find out if I have gained or lost weight. And then I do half an hours ineffectual jiggling around as a result. Wink

whomovedmychocolate · 13/01/2011 21:40

I think one of the things which does make it work though is to have a clearly defined goal - for example, I want to weigh 8st 13lbs. I don't think the vague suggestion 'I want to look great in my swimsuit' works for a lot of people (thus ends the last criticism you'll hear from me on the subject of the last edition of the CD).

So I think we should all be sure we have that ready for the 19th (those of us that are going).

AnyFuleKno · 13/01/2011 21:48

I've just won tickets to for the 19th so I will be seeing some of you there! I've got quite a bit to lose, 4-5 stone maybe.

whomovedmychocolate · 13/01/2011 21:50

The more you have to lose the longer it will take but it won't be any harder necessarily AnyFuleKno. Have faith in yourself :)

AnyFuleKno · 13/01/2011 21:53

I'm really excited about it. I used ICMYT years ago, lost a couple of stone no bother and kept it off. I didn't follow it any more because I didn't really need to IYSWIM. Then when I got preggo I was hungry all the time and got in the habit of eating constantly. Can't seem to shake it, after 3 years and am bigger than I've ever been

whomovedmychocolate · 13/01/2011 22:02

I'm stupidly excited. DH who knows PM in RL is underwhelmed in the extreme at my dizzy smiles and jollity. Or perhaps it's the prospect of being left with my two DC for the entire sodding day which is spoiling his buzz Grin

solo · 13/01/2011 22:20

Helloooo! Just joining in to get to know fellow Paul's friends Wink
Missmakes where ish in Kent are you? I'm 4 miles from jcn 1 on M25.

missmakesstuff · 13/01/2011 22:52

I'm just off M20 solo. going to get the train, will take about an hour and a half to the apollo I think.

Yep, we're all his bezzie mates here..

WOuld you like a pombear badge? will start making them this week Grin
