2011 Paul Mckenna

Deafworm · 01/01/2011 11:16

Hi all

I wondered if anyone else was planning to follow Paul mckenna this year and lose their weight?

im currently 16st13 and intend to end the year a fit toned 10st. im a bit hit and miss with following the golden rules but when i do i have seen results so from today i will follow it and get the results i want.

as well as the weight loss with paul mckenna i intend to

Beardo the just dance 2 fitness thing every day till my husband (RAF) flies out to the middle east around april

Bear do the couch to 5k plan and run race for life this year

Bearstart the 30 day shred when dh goes away and repeat it till he comes home (approx 4 months)

I also have one of those magic leg trainers coming on home approval so will have a play with that and see if its worth keping, apart from that i will reassess my fitness in august when he gets home and come to some decisions on how to go forward with that then but for now these seem like reasonable goals, especially when they're on top of really following the golden rules.

so anyone else following 'the rules' this year and going to join me with their aims?

the book for anyone curious about it, though i got mine from my local works type bookshop for less than £5 thats less than one weeks ww/sw/etc subs to try it out and its honestly the most sensible weightloss plan ive ever looked at

Can I ask you experts a question?

I used to listen to the PM cd a few years back but I always fell asleep and then woke with a start at the end. I'm sure I read somewhere that you could get a version of the CD which didn't wake you up. Does anyone know where I can get this.

Also, the 4 CD sets worth getting? Or should I just go back the the one CD that came with the book (if I can find it.)

Many thanks.

solo · 13/01/2011 23:03

Oh yes please miss :) I'd love a pombear badge.

Yes, we'll be getting the train too ~much easier.

whomovedmychocolate · 13/01/2011 23:06

Neolara - the five CD set has something in it which says 'if you need to wake now you will and if you don't you can just relax' (I'm the only one who can recite these chapter and verse aren't I Blush) Grin

solo · 13/01/2011 23:17

Goodness! we've got to wait 5 weeks!!!!

lililolo · 13/01/2011 23:21

Hello everyone, I also won tickets last night which is very very exciting. I only live on the other side of hammersmith bridge as well - chuffed.

Am going to bring my mum who is a serial yoyo dieter. She's quite slim at the moment, but she is utterly obsessed with weight so I hope it will help her to chill out a bit.

As for me, am a right lardarse! I'm a tiny build (shoe size 4 and 5'2) but I'm at least 5 stone over weight. I have Lost weight (ww lighterlife) etc before, and when I get to about a stone over what I should be, I end up deciding I look ok and let things slide again. Mainly be ause I am so sick of being on a moderation diet. So the pm diet appealed to me. I have found it easier to stick to for sure. I look forward to weighing myself.

My additions to paul's rules are:

some exercise every day
home cooked meal for supper

Reading through the thread, I agree that having a clear idea about goals is a good idea. So I am going to put a flag in the 9 stone mark. I don't think I've weighed less than 10 since i was 20!

Lovely to meet you all.

ktwiltshire · 13/01/2011 23:45

can i park at your house? i have tickets and need some where to park thats not an NCP IYNWIM

ktwiltshire · 13/01/2011 23:47

i am about 3/4 stone overweight but my body frame is big (humungous hips and boobs) so i dont look good below a certain size, so im aimming for dress sizes.

lililolo i have a spare ticket to give away for someone who can help with parking/travel if that spurs you at all...or can advise on parking lol

ktwiltshire · 13/01/2011 23:49

oooo yeah a pombear badge! i need one, we need to coordinate.

...i may have had a few drinks....its DHs 30th tommorrow..well 10mins or so.

hoping and wishing everyone a good and happy day tomorrow

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 14/01/2011 07:57

How fab to see new people! Welcoem to you all :)

I think I am possibly travellingthe furthest for this ... its now a 5 day trip for me! Im on the NE coast of Scotland its impossible for it to be a day trip for me. Im going to be staying with my mum in Suffolk & my friend is driving us through on the day - think the journey is about an hour and a half.

I didnt listen to the CD last night - slap my wrists :(

AnyFuleKno · 14/01/2011 08:04

Does anyone know how long the event lasts? Planning to make a day of it in London, DH will be dragging dd round the museeems

whomovedmychocolate · 14/01/2011 08:35

I think it'll be a long one - apparently they can go on till at least four and possibly six.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 14/01/2011 08:47

Yep, it seems to 10am til 6pm! A long day!

Does anyone know of a cheap place to eat nearby? Will be needing to eat lunch/dinner probably near the venue, and I expect it is going to be costly!

Deafworm · 14/01/2011 08:49

wow lots of new faces, hope i havent missed anyone out, if i have welcome everyone

howto glad you got it sorted and can come, stop beating yourself up, my mate paul :o says in his book that we are our own worst critics and if we wouldnt put up with others being cruel we shouldnt put up with it from ourselves, you ate some sweets, oh well, you also stopped eating them, well done!

welcome wmmc its going to be closer to 10 when i get there, the timings just dont allow us to get there any earlier. im similar to you in that ive done it a couple of times and lost weight well but then i stop, im so so pleased to have tickets, ive been looking at them but just couldnt afford it but have decided (as you can see in the op!) that this is the year to lose my weight, want to end 2011 at 10st rather than 16st. i did promise myself when i dropped out of the 17's that i would never go that high again and ive managed that so im determined to meet this target too. I turn on the wii fit, weigh myself and then turn it off again!

welcome anyfulekno im sure i read somewhere, though i cant find it now that it was 10 till 6

welcome solo

hi neolara i dont know about one that doesnt wake you though i never wake, if you can wait till next month you can have my set of four, if you are happy to give me your address to post it too, they give a set out at the seminar to my knowledge and i already have a set so if thats the case you are welcome to one of them

hi lililolo glad to see a few more with my sort of weight to lose, wellnot glad you need to lose it but glad to not be alone!

kt have you come to a decision on weighing yet? happy birthday to your dh

howto thats dedication! i live in north yorkshire but will already be in gloucester staying with friends that week so can manage it in a day trip, doubt i could from here. i didnt listen either, my dd was up and came into bed with me but she has epilepsy so im always nervous of having it on round her and had to turn it off, need to get to the bottom of this epilepsy warning

I love the buzz about this! I think I'm going to have a to buy a ticket just to meet up with all the mumsnetters! And I'd love instructions on making a pombear badge too!

I had a mini-binge last night, but I stopped at one little pot of tirimasiu and a couple of slices of chorizo. I wasn't hungry when I eat them (slaps wrist) but I do find that I can find the "off" switch more easily than I used to, which is something.

solo · 14/01/2011 09:52

Thank you Deaworm.
Wow! HowTo, that's brilliant! not sure I'd be able to do that, but it'll be like a mini holiday for you Grin
Looking forward to meeting everyone!
I think I've got a knitted Pudsey bear head badge somewhere. I could strip him of his bandana ~ et voila! pombear!

solo · 14/01/2011 09:53

Deaworm? Hmm lol! sorry Deafworm.

Deafworm · 14/01/2011 10:09

finding the off switch is a good start though nickname, well done.

oh solo, poor pudsey, what did he do to you to make you want to defrock debandanna him!

thank you all for keeping me occupied, i am now officially missing housework which just shows you the level of boredom i have hit :( really hoping i start to hurt a little less soon, its my birthday party tomorrow night, on the bright side im getting out of showing off my terrible just dance skills in public!

Rindercella · 14/01/2011 10:20

Hello, I will be coming on 19th as WhoMoved's guest Smile

Really excited. I have about 2 stone to lose.

I tried ICMYT several years ago after I first put on weight having been a skinny up until then, and it really worked for me. I need to get myself into the routine of it again and I am sure it will make a difference.
