Hi all

I wondered if anyone else was planning to follow Paul mckenna this year and lose their weight?

im currently 16st13 and intend to end the year a fit toned 10st. im a bit hit and miss with following the golden rules but when i do i have seen results so from today i will follow it and get the results i want.

as well as the weight loss with paul mckenna i intend to

Beardo the just dance 2 fitness thing every day till my husband (RAF) flies out to the middle east around april

Bear do the couch to 5k plan and run race for life this year

Bearstart the 30 day shred when dh goes away and repeat it till he comes home (approx 4 months)

I also have one of those magic leg trainers coming on home approval so will have a play with that and see if its worth keping, apart from that i will reassess my fitness in august when he gets home and come to some decisions on how to go forward with that then but for now these seem like reasonable goals, especially when they're on top of really following the golden rules.

so anyone else following 'the rules' this year and going to join me with their aims?

the book for anyone curious about it, though i got mine from my local works type bookshop for less than £5 thats less than one weeks ww/sw/etc subs to try it out and its honestly the most sensible weightloss plan ive ever looked at

wwmc - even if your mum doesn't "believe" in the PM thing - presumably the hypnosis bit - then surely she can still see that the principles of the programme make sense - i.e. eating according to need rather than want.

Mind you I've been wondering exactly what's going to happen for this seminar - presumably he's going to hypnotise the whole of the Hammersmith Apollo. Maybe I've watched too many Derren Brown episodes, but could he actually end up implanting subliminal messages into all our brains so that we go out and rob banks the next day...?

OliveOnThePaulMcKennaBus · 14/02/2011 16:12

DH and I must be on the same wavelength - we each presented each other Molton Brown goodies and some DVDs this morning. Although he also got me a nice bunch of roses too.

whomovedmychocolate · 14/02/2011 16:15

Olive - first of all Envy that you have such a well training loving husband. Wink

In terms of the hypnosis bit - I would say that 10% of the audience will not be able to be hypnotised so that just wouldn't work.

OliveOnThePaulMcKennaBus · 14/02/2011 16:20

wmmc - he has definitely been well trained. But one year early in our relationship, he presented me with flowers the week before Valentine's because they are much cheaper then (he's an accountant btw!).

Maybe you could get your DH to celebrate non Valentines and get you something nice when the price hasn't been overinflated

bloomingnora · 14/02/2011 16:22

Well, I've just had a very strange experience. I went to tesco to get bread and milk and an after school treat for the kids. I was genuinely hungry too, so I thought I would buy something to savour with a cup of tea. It took me TWENTY MINUTES to find anything I remotely fancied. I am eating it now but it is on a plate with a sliced up apple. And it has taken me ten minutes to eat it so far and I may well stop in a second because I am on my way to feeling satisfied. Grin

I imagine the seminar will be a bit like the TV programme. But group hypnosis to rob banks sounds fun too (although perhaps that is the I Can Make You Rich seminar? Wink )

OliveOnThePaulMcKennaBus · 14/02/2011 16:25

Smile nora.

AlwaysbeOpralFruitstome · 14/02/2011 18:03

Fantastic nora.

I was wondering if there would be a 'I can clear out your bank account' section of the seminar, were portable card machines were handed out and we all emptied our accounts/maxed out or cards in a Demon Headmaster-esque trance. Confused. I might just take a small amount of cash on the day Wink.

I got feck all off DH, surprise, surprise. But I did get a lovely card off DS1 which he had made at school. He had coloured it in so carefully (he hates colouring in and normally gets bored and scribbles really messily) even the tiny flowers and love hearts - the little sweetheart, I was so touched Smile. Didn't over eat at dinner either, can I get a whoop whoop?!

bloomingnora · 14/02/2011 18:12

Whoop whoop! Well done. I just ate two ritz crackers that I didn't want or need but the good news is I then put the box back in the cupboard and made a cup of tea instead! I am totally stuffed now. Who'd have thought that two ritz were the difference between pleasantly full and nauseously full?

ktwiltshire · 15/02/2011 07:41

Hope everyone had a good valentines evening, DH and I had the tescos meal, but we just had the main, i was too full for pudding!

although i did just have chocolate for breakfast (eclair)...mad moment, I think im struggling with how to act in the run up to the seminar.

Looks like my friend is coming to the seminar with me, she has a shit mum too, so we can moan together about how our mothers have given us bad habbits! - even to this day she tells my kids to clear their plates, which annoys me!

today i have a busy day at work, well busy until about 3pm i imagine, then i will be sitting around not doing much. BUT i have found a way to keep my brain busy when im not busy with work related things, at work, so i dont snack out of boredom. I have been listening to my audio book at my desk through my iPod. my boss doesnt even mind, they all enquire as to what im listening to this week. I feel glad to have found something that stops me from snacking all day long!

have a brilliant day everyone, sorry for not being quite so here, but its busy at home. DH is working tonight, so i will be all over the forums!

OliveOnThePaulMcKennaBus · 15/02/2011 08:25

Sounds like a nice evening kt. Choc eclair for breakfast could technically be within the rules i suppose [hmm}

Saw a weightwatcher's ad in a newspaper yesterday, which said something along the lines of:"Lose the weight for the last time". Doesn't say a lot for the diet industry does it?

Reminds me of the last time I went to WW, when I met a lady who had lost 4 stone last year and had piled it all back on. Shock

nevergoogledragonbutter · 15/02/2011 17:47

too much takeaway last night.
annoyed with myself.
grr.

OliveonthePaulMcKennaBus · 15/02/2011 18:01

And breathe.....
...don't beat yourself up - you'll probably be less hungry and eat less today as a result. Just start again! Smile

whomovedmychocolate · 15/02/2011 18:56

ktwiltshire - I am also struggling in the run up to the seminar. Not helped by only having four hours sleep thanks to DS (sick....again....boys! Hmm) Mind you it's not that I'm eating an unusually large amount but I feel out of control. :(

Never mind though, Saturday will sort it.

Apparently the weather will be very heavy rain. Joy! So brollies may be required - I always like to carry one on the tube anyway (for poking purposes). Wink

Are we all still meeting halfway through the lunch hour under the glitter ball in the upstairs bar?

Would it help if I wore a very bright brooch or something so you can identify me, I have a nice red one somewhere, round and glittery?

whomovedmychocolate · 15/02/2011 18:57

Oh and we will need a new thread soon! :)

UrsulaBuffay · 15/02/2011 19:01

I got the job! And have eaten well today! (did not yesterday but shush) And have asked DH to hide my scales!

!

whomovedmychocolate · 15/02/2011 19:02

HURRAH for Ursula! We knew you could do it :) :) :) :)

UrsulaBuffay · 15/02/2011 19:13

Thank you :) Didn't take much doing really, I was internal & pencilled in for it but yay me! Full time again soon then, will miss DD

whomovedmychocolate · 15/02/2011 19:16

Don't put yourself down - they chose you because you are great at what you do and they trust you to do a brilliant job. :)

ktwiltshire · 15/02/2011 19:16

Congrats!!!!!!!

Well i did really want a chocolate eclair, and felt almost good for it?!!

i have comfort eaten a lot today, but hip has been really bad today, i have been literally dragging my left leg around the office.

my friend is meeting me outside my house at 5.30am...its all coming together :-)

today has been bad food wise, but its not something im very good at controlling, i didnt have any extra painkillers with me, and i had to get through the day.

have a good evening, in 4 days it will all be over..well the seminar!

mummyosaurus · 15/02/2011 19:51

Congrats Ursula!

Can't wait for your feedback on the seminar. What you find most useful, anything you find odd and so on.

UrsulaBuffay · 15/02/2011 20:20

Who else needs a little whomovedmychocolate for their handbag? Great at times of self esteem emergency!! x

UrsulaBuffay · 15/02/2011 20:21

Oh, kt, sounds awful! Hot relaxing bath tonight for you I hope.

whomovedmychocolate · 15/02/2011 20:38

ktwiltshire - that sounds awful :(

Do you have enough painkillers to stash them at work and in every single bag you own so it doesn't happen again?

ktwiltshire · 15/02/2011 20:42

im going to make sure i take some with me when im in work again on thursday, early bed and lots of painkillers tonight, must message DH to say im knocked out on painkillers!

i have had chocolates this evening, i really wanted them, and lets face it, its better to eat them now (valentintes pressie), that way i can give it my all on saturday and from then on.

just watching being human, then its off to rest my hips, this is getting old now...sorry for moaning!!

whomovedmychocolate · 15/02/2011 20:49

Don't worry about moaning. It's better to express it than swallow it down with unnecessary food. :)

Are you on the right painkillers? Do they work for you? You ought to have a review with your GP if you are still in such a lot of pain. Hope you feel better soon.
