Deafworm · 01/01/2011 11:16

Hi all

I wondered if anyone else was planning to follow Paul mckenna this year and lose their weight?

im currently 16st13 and intend to end the year a fit toned 10st. im a bit hit and miss with following the golden rules but when i do i have seen results so from today i will follow it and get the results i want.

as well as the weight loss with paul mckenna i intend to

Beardo the just dance 2 fitness thing every day till my husband (RAF) flies out to the middle east around april

Bear do the couch to 5k plan and run race for life this year

Bearstart the 30 day shred when dh goes away and repeat it till he comes home (approx 4 months)

I also have one of those magic leg trainers coming on home approval so will have a play with that and see if its worth keping, apart from that i will reassess my fitness in august when he gets home and come to some decisions on how to go forward with that then but for now these seem like reasonable goals, especially when they're on top of really following the golden rules.

so anyone else following 'the rules' this year and going to join me with their aims?

the book for anyone curious about it, though i got mine from my local works type bookshop for less than £5 thats less than one weeks ww/sw/etc subs to try it out and its honestly the most sensible weightloss plan ive ever looked at

hi Curiousmama
You get free 5 cd book when you attend the seminar. The ticket was on special offer for £99 and as my binge eating has spiralled out of control I thought that may help me.

KLCG · 29/01/2011 17:49

SOLO
oh cool, so do i need to bring a packed lunch??? :S

ppeatfruit · 29/01/2011 17:50

Also KLCG there's a web site for it. solo Do you think they'll have breaks for us to eat when we're hungry?!!

KLCG · 29/01/2011 17:52

ppeatfruit
whats the website address? ive looked everywhere on the net today. would of been nice to see the itinary for the day...

solo · 29/01/2011 18:26

No idea, but I expect they'll either provide something or there'll be something available to buy there.

Pp Grin I'm going to take that question seriously ~ not sure if that's tongue in cheek or not though! but I'm sure there will be toilet/coffee/munchies breaks

Don't know if there is anything to say what's what throughout the day KLCG, though I'd be interested in seeing the website too.

whomovedmychocolate · 29/01/2011 22:13

Well it finishes at 6pm - so I'm going to have to leg it afterward and try and get back at a decent hour to kiss the monsters goodnight - they normally go down at 7 and I'm nearly two hours away eek.

There are about 20 coffee shops within 100 yards though if lunch isn't provided.

whomovedmychocolate · 29/01/2011 22:15

I had a breakthrough today, went to my parents house and ate lunch and they scoffed away quickly and I took my time and didn't overeat - didn't even think to - and didn't want cake for pudding or anything. Chicken and salad, yum.

solo · 29/01/2011 22:24

Good for you WMMC :)

Long old day for all of us...

whomovedmychocolate · 29/01/2011 22:35

The website is not helpful in any way but I can point you to reviews of the last one if that helps?

blinder · 29/01/2011 22:36

Wmmc yes do that! The more positive stories the better!

whomovedmychocolate · 29/01/2011 22:44

Go to his US website here and watch some the success videos for inspiration.

Deafworm · 30/01/2011 08:28

:( well i weighed in and the wii fit (which i have been looking at over the last few days and am beginning to think maybe you are all right about its accuracy but im not using that as an excuse as its been good enough for me to use up till now) reckons i have gained 9lb Shock over the last fortnight. however this week ive lost 1/2" off my arm and 1 1/2" off my waist which is a bit better.

I havent done very well this fortnight and i knew it, so this needs to be the kick up the backside to improve things, I think i have most of it sussed but the stopping when i am full is tricky as im still eating too fast so thats my thing for today, slow my eating right down when i managed it yesterday i ate a lot less so i know im not doing it yet.

oh and just to point out 9lb is a lot but i had 3 seperate birthday celebrations plus a couple of meals out in that time,Blush it was a fun fortnight but back to reality now!

Thanks a lot WMMC! Smile that's a good review!

whomovedmychocolate · 30/01/2011 09:03

Deafworm - stop weighing yourself and treating this like yet another diet or you are setting yourself up to fail. It's a road, you go forwards or back but as long as you know your destination, even if you wander, you'll get there. :)

Deafworm · 30/01/2011 11:18

unfortunately the weight is important to me wmmc, im happy with the inch loss which is what im personally concerned about but we want to ttc dc4, having had pre eclampsia with dd1 and 2 midwives get a little nervous around me! the weight is just another stick to beat me with when it comes to trying to avoid unnecesary interventions. im hoping that a drop of 3 stone or so plus the fact that dd3 was a really simple pe free pregnancy might just get me some peace. we have a gap of 2 years between each of the other 2 and to get that gap again i should already be pregnant plus im broody as hell Blush so it feels like the clock is ticking. trying very hard to be sensible at the moment but struggling!

im honestly not thinking about it like a diet, im doing my best to follow the rules but struggling with the stopping when full one. having a better day with it today though, planning a roast for tea.

whomovedmychocolate · 30/01/2011 14:09

I am not so sure PET is related to weight. I had it with both pregnancies and was not overweight the second time. Besides if you don't look heavy the midwives don't give you a hard time (I refused weighing at my check ups as I don't like being treated like cattle Wink ).

bloomingnora · 30/01/2011 15:23

WMMC - you sound like you are doing brilliantly. Especially to eat according to hunger at someone else's house - that is really hard.

I have had a great weekend - not thinking about food nearly so much and definitely stopping when full. Went swimming with the kids today and everyone had something from the vending machine afterwards and as we walked away DH asked if I wanted something and it hadn't even occurred to me!

Deafworm - I know what you mean about excess weight being a stick to beat you with. Keep at it, it's hard to feel the full signal but it definitely does get stronger each time you do it. PS 4 DC? Are you insane? Grin

blinder · 30/01/2011 17:45

Deafworm the wii fit board is NOT accurate. Stop using it to weigh please!

whomovedmychocolate · 30/01/2011 19:10

bloomingnora - thanks.

I also went swimming today - well to be more precise, for an hour I shivered while trying to stop two non swimming toddlers from drowning themselves. And I didn't eat the complementary mini biscuit in the M&S cafe afterwards either.

bloomingnora · 30/01/2011 19:24

I did two lengths while DH did drowning duty with DS1 & DS2! But I did them as fast as I could and my arms really ache now.... upper body fitness is terrible. Most of swimming with small children seems to involve sweating in small changing rooms and getting increasingly irritated. And DH shut my coat in the locker door and snapped my visa card...

I've just ordered the 90 day journal thingy from amazon. But I have also just made a seville orange meringue pie. Swings and roundabouts! Will try to have a small piece when I am next hungry Hmm

whomovedmychocolate · 30/01/2011 19:27

Bloomingnora - are you not coming to the seminar then - you get a copy with the five CDS IIRC.

bloomingnora · 30/01/2011 20:01

Can't quite face the money and travelling solo to it. May change my mind though! Am meant to be losing as much weight as possible before surgery and will find out on thurs when surgery is. Feel like I can't think about anything until then.

FGM · 30/01/2011 21:31

Hello, may I join?
I've just bought PM's book and uploaded the CD to MP3.

I think I'm and emotional minefield eater and this is my big weakness.

Would very much appreciate success stories of all shapes & sizes to inspire me.

A bit about me: I am FTM to 2 lovely DDs (4 and 2yo) and have a ridiculously overworked DH. I love knitted dresses and jeans but my thighs are denying me all the fun.

arfur · 30/01/2011 21:34

Hi all and esp ppeatfruit! Was on the previous PM thread but havent been around for a few weeks and have come back to see all this. I hadnt heard about the PM seminar but am v keen to come along! Will try to get a ticket tomorrow. Will get back on wagon and listen to PM tonight promise - good luck everyone!
