Hi all

I wondered if anyone else was planning to follow Paul mckenna this year and lose their weight?

im currently 16st13 and intend to end the year a fit toned 10st. im a bit hit and miss with following the golden rules but when i do i have seen results so from today i will follow it and get the results i want.

as well as the weight loss with paul mckenna i intend to

Beardo the just dance 2 fitness thing every day till my husband (RAF) flies out to the middle east around april

Bear do the couch to 5k plan and run race for life this year

Bearstart the 30 day shred when dh goes away and repeat it till he comes home (approx 4 months)

I also have one of those magic leg trainers coming on home approval so will have a play with that and see if its worth keping, apart from that i will reassess my fitness in august when he gets home and come to some decisions on how to go forward with that then but for now these seem like reasonable goals, especially when they're on top of really following the golden rules.

so anyone else following 'the rules' this year and going to join me with their aims?

the book for anyone curious about it, though i got mine from my local works type bookshop for less than £5 thats less than one weeks ww/sw/etc subs to try it out and its honestly the most sensible weightloss plan ive ever looked at

oooh! a picture please pp Grin

Curiousmama · 28/01/2011 16:02

Yes think I will try that. It's just you're always being told breakfast is important?

Well done on the brooch pp Grin

I've been good today. Had one egg omelette and fresh tomatoes. Am doing something with the left over chicken but not sure what yet? May make a cold dish with yoghurt and curry powder and some fresh apricots I have left from Moroccan thing? I can't find an inspiring recipe so will make one up as usual Smile

bloomingnora · 28/01/2011 16:19

ppeatfruit - he does say that but he also says eat what you fancy and when you are hungry. Cannot believe the number of dietary restrictions everyone on this thread has (me included). I cannot see a single poster who is really following PM's rules. Everyone has too much ingrained guilt maybe? It's so hard after (in my case) nearly 30 years of mucking around with diet to just follow your body's messages. I need to learn to trust myself! (and feel in control....I'm sure that's on the Cd somewhere!)

bloomingnora · 28/01/2011 16:19

Sorry, didn't mean any of that to sound offensive! bad bad day!

solo · 28/01/2011 16:23

I'm not following his rules yet as I don't have his CD yet.

AlwaysbeOpralFruitstome · 28/01/2011 16:37

Sad Hope your day improves blooming.

It is really hard to break the guilt though. Mind you I took the kids to McDonald's last night, not a common occurrence (honest gov) but it was DS1's birthday. I wasn't going to have any but I was really hungry by the time we got there so I ordered some. I only ate the burger (which was surprisingly nice) and a couple of chips and left the rest. Normally I would have stuffed mine down and then probably hoovered up the remainder of the kids so I was really pleased with myself despite having junk food for tea.

That said I haven't ate particularly consciously today (healthier but too much). All three kids are home and I'm sooo tired I just can't be bothered to concentrate. Tomorrow is another day (sucks in considerable stomach and punches myself on the arm).

bloomingnora · 28/01/2011 16:43

solo - in that case you are excused! Grin

I am just cross with myself all the time and I know so many women who constantly berate themselves and punish themselves. It's making me feel a bit sad for all the wasted time.

Well done on the McDonald's experience, Always. It is lovely when you know you have truly eaten the right amount. I most certainly have not managed that this afternoon but will not have supper (unless I am genuinely hungry). I will have an early night and try to stop being such a miserable old bint!

Curiousmama · 28/01/2011 17:07

Well done at Mcd's Grin

I've just eaten my dinner (made up chicken thingy) I once again honk of garlic but don't care Wink
I used last nights left over chicken breast, cold cooked macaroni, low fat greek yoghurt, black pepper, bit of salt, chopped corriander, garlic (of course!) chopped spring onions, red pepper, courgette and raw mushrooms. Oh and some parprika. All mixed in and it's delicious. Dp's is sitting in the fridge as he's sleeping (nighshift worker). I made a version for dss but ds2 wasn't keen. DS1 inhaled his.

It's really filling though so have some left for later if I fancy it?

So glad I'm not going out tonight as even I'm finding the smell of garlic pungent Blush I'm out with a friend tomorrow night so will be chewing parsley during the day Wink

bloomingnora · 28/01/2011 17:34

God that sounds delicious Curious. It's almost making me hungry but luckily I am not hungry at all after this afternoon's binge....

whomovedmychocolate · 28/01/2011 20:57

I eat what I bloody well please bloomingnora and I'm losing a lot of weight!

Actually I have started having cereal in ramekins - when I'm hungry but not very hungry (as in, I need to eat but not much) and it really works. But it has to be lovely cereal (I go for muesli).

None of this diet food for me thank you! It doesn't work. I'd far rather eat good, tasty food, enjoy it and lose weight as well than do any sort of restriction.

Dietary fat plays an important role in nutrition btw, hair, skin etc. rely heavily on fat intake. If you only eat low fat food all the time you will not absorb vitamin A properly and will look all worn out and drawn. :)

The kids had chippy fish tonight - which they didn't eat either and I wasn't even tempted - actually I thought it smelled revolting.

DH finally asked tonight 'how come you are not eating much at the minute Hmm' - I explained and he was v supportive and even offered to reheat my dinner when it went cold because I was eating it so slowly. :)

ppeatfruit · 29/01/2011 10:21

you're right blooming but i have to follow my blood type (which is a way of eating not a diet) it's for health (it works for me) I am loosing weight with P.M and my amazing exercise!!

ppeatfruit · 29/01/2011 10:32

I'm not quite up to posting my own pixs! I drew and then cut out 2 3cm joined circles in some yellow card (head and body) added 4 1cmlong ovals (legs and arms) and add ears etc.

ppeatfruit · 29/01/2011 10:34

I put MN on his tummy!

solo · 29/01/2011 12:00

Sounds good! how are you attaching him to your coat?

ppeatfruit · 29/01/2011 12:11

I thought one of those giant paperclips what d'you reckon? i hate pins!

tessieb · 29/01/2011 12:28

Oh no, just had some chocolate. Wasn't hungry, ate it far too quickly, just couldn't resist.... Enjoyed it though! Grin

bloomingnora · 29/01/2011 12:35

WMMC - hooray! Glad you are enjoying food and not imposing restrictions. Although I have been told by doc to eat as little fat as possible prior to gall bladder surgery I actually think I end up eating less if I just follow PM properly as I seem to need hardly anything. If I just try to eat no fat at all I end up eating far too much sugar... and you are quite right - skin and hair goes dull and dry. Hopefully surgery should be in a few weeks.

Funny you should mention about the fish and chips being revolting - when I did this before I ended up craving really healthy stuff and the smell of fat used to make me gag! Can't wait to get back to that point!

bloomingnora · 29/01/2011 12:35

tessieb - it's good that you enjoyed it!

solo · 29/01/2011 12:55

Do you think it'd fall off though PP? you wouldn't want to lose him. I'm thinking of doing one in that craft foam stuff, but will use a safety pin and strong tape to keep him on.

Tessieb! for goodness sake! don't say the C word to me! arghhhhh! Grin glad you enjoyed it though!

WMMC and bnora, I feel the same about my sob sob cheese and pickle sandwich with fresh cut bread...I think I've broken the addiction! :) that's good isn't it? Hmm

bloomingnora · 29/01/2011 13:04

It is very weird to see what your body actually wants, solo. I actually haven't craved chocoloate as much as much as I thought I would. I tend to want sandwiches with lots of salad in them and not much else at the moment. Even for breakfast! I am still struggling with how to have family meals together - I think I just need to judge lunch/snacks right so that I am actually hungry when it is supper time.

tessieb · 29/01/2011 13:29

It's funny but I've not craved chocolate for a while, but today I just had to have some. Not even TOTM looming so don't know why. Problem is, I could easily eat some more.......Blush

Just have to keep visualising me in a swimming costume in 4 months time!

solo · 29/01/2011 13:44

Sexy tessie! in a swim suit. That was meant as a boost by the way tessieb, sorry! Blush

I'm not really craving chocolate, but if it was here, I'd eat it!
Need to do some lunch.

KLCG · 29/01/2011 16:24

Hi I am going to the Paul Mckenna I can make You Thin seminar at the hammersmith Apollo on 19th Feb - on my own- and wondered if anyone else was going? And does anyone know how long it will last?

Kelly

Curiousmama · 29/01/2011 16:58

Oh you can keep chocolate I don't have much desire for it though I do make some lovely choc chip cookies that go down well Smile I like crisps over chocolate any day but am not having many of those at the moment.

KLCG I think a few on here are going to his seminar but not sure of the date? If you trawl through you should see when it is. Have you got the book and cd yet KLCG?

solo · 29/01/2011 17:07

KLCG, yes, there are quite a few of us going on Feb 19th :) and from what we have worked out, it's a whole day thing. Doors open at 08:30 and the seminar starts at 10am.
