Deafworm · 01/01/2011 11:16

Hi all

I wondered if anyone else was planning to follow Paul mckenna this year and lose their weight?

im currently 16st13 and intend to end the year a fit toned 10st. im a bit hit and miss with following the golden rules but when i do i have seen results so from today i will follow it and get the results i want.

as well as the weight loss with paul mckenna i intend to

Beardo the just dance 2 fitness thing every day till my husband (RAF) flies out to the middle east around april

Bear do the couch to 5k plan and run race for life this year

Bearstart the 30 day shred when dh goes away and repeat it till he comes home (approx 4 months)

I also have one of those magic leg trainers coming on home approval so will have a play with that and see if its worth keping, apart from that i will reassess my fitness in august when he gets home and come to some decisions on how to go forward with that then but for now these seem like reasonable goals, especially when they're on top of really following the golden rules.

so anyone else following 'the rules' this year and going to join me with their aims?

the book for anyone curious about it, though i got mine from my local works type bookshop for less than £5 thats less than one weeks ww/sw/etc subs to try it out and its honestly the most sensible weightloss plan ive ever looked at

Deafworm I know! That's my fear too. I've been tempted to message MNHQ with 'really?? really really??!'

lililolo · 25/01/2011 12:34

Hey guys, I've been worrying too, and as I live near to the appolo I thought I'd pop in the day before and see if they were able to have a look for me. You know the way people tend to be more helpful when you're actually standing in front of them than they are when you ring them up. I don't know if they'll have the names, but I thought it was worth a shot. So, if you want me to check for you, pm me your names and I'll ask.

I weighed in today, another 3lbs off so 9lbs in total. I'm just not that bothered about food anymore which is a bit weird as it's usually one of life's big pleasures. I suppose I'd rather be slim and treat food as fuel than a lardarse whose fridge burns a hole in her pocket though.

Also been doing one section of hannah waterman's DVD everyday. It's only 20 minutes so doesn't feel like a great hardship.

Glad to hear you're all doing so well and to meet new people - hello!

ktwiltshire · 25/01/2011 13:20

i am so nervous and i too, have this feeling that when we turn up they are going to turn me away saying im a silly woman!!

blinder i think the thing with hunger and tiredness is to drink a glass of water (make sure we dont forget to hydrate ourselves), wait a little bit and then if your still hungry try something small (if its not a meal time i guess)

lililolo · 25/01/2011 14:41

Do you want me to check for you kt?

Btw, been meaning to say, as we are both going with our mums, do you think they might realise their contributions to our weight issues? I don't think mine would, I think she thinks th way she is with food (totally obsessed with eating as little as possible and beating herself up when she does, bur is still overweight so I suspect she scretly eats) is perfectly normal!

blinder · 25/01/2011 15:17

Ah thanks kt. I have dehydrated skin too so that's well worth doing.

Lili I'll be dming you my name soon. Can anyone do private messaging now or should I renew my subscription? Can't seem to message via mobile site so will have to wait till I can get to a bigger screen.

Curiousmama · 25/01/2011 16:05

Hi blinder Smile

Totally agree about hydrating, I've been drinking much more water. I do like water though so no hardship.

I've been very good today, only had ryvitas and cottage cheese. Having remainder of Moroccan thing tonight and putting some stir fried chicken and apricots in with it.

HowToLookGoodGlaikit · 25/01/2011 17:35

I am also panicking about getting there and not being on the list!! I am travelling a long way a,d it is worrying me a lot.

whomovedmychocolate · 25/01/2011 17:57

Well I'm back on track today! :)

I am nervous but also quite excited about the seminar.

I'm sure it will not be a problem with the guest tickets, there will be a guest list. It will be fine. :)

ktwiltshire · 25/01/2011 20:40

lililolo my mum is clueless, she has almost the same attititude as your mum, i had teachers trying to tell my mum i had an eating disoder when i was 14 and she laughed at them, and she still finds the thought laughable, not that i mention it to her.
Ive come to the conclusion that no matter why weve got to this point, it doesnt change where we are, and the possible ways of getting out of it...if that makes sense!!
would be great if you can check for me. my mum wants to drive up to fleet (where we used to live, as in the services lol) and take the train from there, got the tickets. going to be an early morning and apart from being nervous, im excited!

todays been a good day, played with DD3, caught up on tv this PM and then helped my mum out with some jobs, kids in bed, now resting up my hips! DH has just come back from the chip shop, just going to have a few!

bloomingnora · 25/01/2011 22:18

Very bad couple of days here. Hideous 'punsihment' eating e.g. I am shit so will punish my body by over eating. Constant nausea and almost constant depression as a result. V V down but hopefully will get back in the groove!

blinder · 25/01/2011 22:21

Sad to hear that bnora!

Obviously the least helpful thing you could do now is to punish yourself for punishing yourself! I hope you can call it a blip, let yourself off the hook and treat yourself kindly.

bloomingnora · 25/01/2011 22:23

Good point re punishing myself for punishing myself. Am going to bed to think on that one. And to listen to the CD!

blinder · 25/01/2011 23:09

I'm going to listen to I Can Make You Sleep. But I wish someone would just tell my blinkin dd that she can sleep too Smile.

bloomingnora · 26/01/2011 08:12

Listened to the CD last night and this morning and as a result have had no breakfast because I am genuinely not hungry (overate last night, clearly....).

Have a bit of an issue at the moment as I get one 15 minute break at work at 11am and have to eat my lunch then or I don't have time to eat until I get home at 2.30pm. Not sure how to handle this - try to eat slowly but I have a fear of being really hungry in the lunch hall and succumbing to school puddings - crumble and custard etc Blush.

Any suggestions welcome! I have a sarnie and a box of chopped fruit to take with me today as that was what I fancied - maybe I should eat my fruit while on lunch duty? Or before I leave work at 1.45? I need to come up with a workable solution to this!

bloomingnora · 26/01/2011 08:13

Oh, and Blinder's DD - you can sleep. Please. Mummy needs a rest!

ppeatfruit · 26/01/2011 10:17

Curious careful with adding fruit to meat etc.Even my DH eats fruit on an empty stomach and has cured his bellyache! Are we still wearing pom bear brooches anyone?

solo · 26/01/2011 15:20

Hello! Oh yes, Miss was going to give us a tutorial on how to make a PomBear Brooch wasn't she?

ppeatfruit · 26/01/2011 17:17

Bloomingnora you know that you CAN eat crumble and custard on P.M. as long as you eat slowly and consciously when you r hungry and stop when you r full! solo i think someone was!

ppeatfruit · 26/01/2011 17:20

If not what about us wearing our MN 'names' as tags? OOh I'm getting excited now!!

Curiousmama · 26/01/2011 17:27

Thanks PP I don't get stomach ache though.

Can't you make Pom brooches from a crisp packet?

cut out shape then stick on card and tape a safety pin on it?

Pork dinner tonight, won't shovel it in though, will eat consciously Smile

Deafworm · 26/01/2011 18:31

Hi all, glad im not the only one who is nervous. looking forward to it though.

curiousmama can I come live with you for a while your cooking sounds fantastic!

haven't had a great day today have just eaten too much in to short a space of time, it probably evens out over the whole day but right now im full! and seriously broody, the whole point of the weight loss is a safe pregnancy but a friend gave birth this morning and now im all hormonally desperate again!!fortunately dh is away tonight and maybe tomorrow so i cant do anything stupid without some thought going into itBlush

OP posts:
solo · 26/01/2011 19:16

Hmmmm...not sure about wearing my MN nn as my non MN friend might ask questions I really don't want to answer; I also don't want to namechange permanently as I like mine...any other ideas?

Deafworm · 26/01/2011 20:01

me either solo, red bobbles or pom bears i think!

is anyone watching will my crash diet kill me on channel 4? i figured it might help remind me that 'diets' arent good

OP posts:
solo · 26/01/2011 20:14

Oh no! didn't know it was on and I'm just about to give Dd a bath...maybe I'll catch it on +1.

bloomingnora · 26/01/2011 21:39

ppeatfruit - the problem is that there is no way I would be hungry then! I only ever eat the crumble out of sheer greed. I've had an excellent day today though. I ate my sarnie at 11 and then had my fruit at 2.30 and it worked well. Felt really calm and in control as Paul would say Grin

I went out for a drink with a friend this evening and wasn't remotely tempted even when she was having crisps etc

I think the answer for me is to listen to the CD as much as possible for the moment. I'm off to do that now!
